Chapter 388 - Chapter 388 Chapter 377 Rich and Willful
Chapter 388: Chapter 377: Rich and Willful Chapter 388: Chapter 377: Rich and Willful After Nie Zhan left, Lu Jiaxin played a round with Wang Yadan and then prepared to go home.
Wang Yadan noticed she was unhappy and cautiously said, “Miss Lu, after what happened to the second young mistress, if the boss doesn’t visit her as her son, people will think he’s very cold-blooded.”
Lu Jiaxin shook her head and said, “It’s right for Nie Zhan to visit, but I’m worried that your boss’s mother might have been hospitalized due to being beaten. If that’s the case, she might return to Hong Kong to recover.”
“Hospitalized for being beaten?”
Realizing the implication in her words, Wang Yadan shook her head and said, “Impossible, even if Danny is audacious, he wouldn’t dare to lay a hand on the second young mistress; otherwise, the chairman wouldn’t let him off.”
Lu Jiaxin snorted disdainfully at these words. “If your chairman could control her, she wouldn’t have gotten divorced and remarried over and over.”
The most terrifying aspect of being love-struck is that you can’t apply rational thinking to their behavior. While others might consider domestic violence unforgivable, she might not pursue the matter. Hence, she always kept her distance from such individuals to avoid getting involved.
Wang Yadan couldn’t help but smile, saying earnestly, “Miss Lu, are you worried that the second young mistress is difficult to get along with? Don’t worry, she is quite polite in public.”
Lu Jiaxin glanced at her and replied, “She’s just your boss’s mother. Whether she’s easy to get along with doesn’t concern me at the moment.”
If she were married, it would matter, but now they were just dating, she didn’t recognize it. As for marriage, that would be a future consideration; for now, it was better to focus on making money and enjoying life.
Wang Yadan realized she had said something wrong and quickly started talking about the gossip she knew concerning wealthy families and celebrities. Seeing Lu Jiaxin listening with great interest, she secretly thought everyone loved gossip and decided she should gather more of such information in the future.
Once home, Lu Jiaxin called Wu Ziyue and Sun Wushuang to let them know she wanted to buy into the options index when it went public.
In the afternoon, Xu Yue and Susan came over to report their work to Lu Jiaxin. Xu Yue had already secured the agency rights for twenty brands, while Susan had done as Lu Jiaxin requested, finishing the promotional videos and securing advertisements on TV, in fashion magazines, and on public transport.
After listening to their updates, Lu Jiaxin nodded her head and reminded Xu Yue to ensure that their first campaign would make a splash. Securing the representation for twenty brands had cost a hefty sum, and the promotional expenses were another significant investment. Additionally, since the brands were relatively niche, the agency fees were not too high, which meant even higher spending.
Two days later, Su Heyuan came to visit Lu Jiaxin, smiling as he said, “I saw Green Forest’s advertisement on television and again on a billboard today. You must have spent a substantial amount on promotion, right?”
Hiring celebrities for endorsements is pretty standard hype for apparel companies.
Lu Jiaxin replied with a smile, “That’s not all; there’s also fashion magazine spots and handing out flyers on the street, plus promotions at universities and high schools. My budget for advertising is five million Hong Kong Dollars, and I’ve already spent over two million.”
She had thought the costs might exceed the budget, but Susan was very strict with the spending, so it seemed unlikely to go over.
Su Heyuan admired her approach and said, “You only have one store, but the advertising costs are so substantial. Aren’t you afraid of sinking all your money into it?”
Is this a case of having money to burn?
The shop he had helped her buy was now under Xinxin Real Estate, and Lu Jiaxin had also rented the two adjacent shops and merged them, making the Causeway Bay store quite spacious.
Lu Jiaxin spoke cheerfully, “It’s not one store; it’s three. And as for losing all my money, how could that be possible? I’m a college student myself; don’t I know what they like?”
College students always pursue fashion and trends; she was satisfied with Xu Yue’s selections, which would undoubtedly appeal to the younger crowd. Of course, this was already a successful business case, and with her substantial investment, how could it possibly fail?
Su Heyuan knew her prowess in the fashion industry and was only teasing her before; with her abilities, it was just a matter of how much she would earn, not if she would earn.
Lu Jiaxin made him a cup of coffee, set it beside him, and asked, “You busy man, how come you have time to visit me today?”
Su Heyuan replied with a smile, “I’m not as busy as you. Every time I invite you out for a meal, you don’t have time.”
Lu Jiaxin was helpless; between school, managing two companies, and dating, she really couldn’t spare any time. She only focused on the major aspects of the two companies; if she tried to handle everything like Su Heyuan, she would be exhausted to death.
After drinking half a glass of water, Su Heyuan finally revealed the purpose of his visit. He wanted to get into the real estate business, but he didn’t have enough funds and was hoping to partner with Lu Jiaxin.
Lu Jiaxin had known that he wanted to get into real estate but lacked the initial capital. Bringing up this matter now suggested he had made a considerable sum in the foreign exchange market: “How much did you make this time?”
Su Heyuan replied with a smile full of satisfaction, “Thanks to your blessing, I’ve made almost 200 million Hong Kong Dollars, and I’ve used part of it to add two production lines to the home appliance factory.”
“With that money, you could almost buy out a small listed real estate company,” Lu Jiaxin said.
With listed real estate companies, as long as you acquire a certain percentage of shares, you can take control of the company and push out the original power holders. This is also why many founders get ousted from their positions.
Su Heyuan had his eye on a real estate company valued at 600 million; he wouldn’t be able to acquire it by himself: “Do you want to join in?”
Lu Jiaxin shook her head and said, “I can invest in your venture, but forming a partnership is out of the question.”
The last time they partnered up was just to accumulate funds. From now on, she wouldn’t go into business with anyone; at most, she would make investments.
Xinxin Real Estate was about renting out properties for income, then purchasing quality properties–a straightforward operation. Green Forest was in the fashion industry, her area of expertise, so Susan and Xu Yue couldn’t fool her. As for real estate, up until the previous year, she had been a complete outsider, and it was only through deliberate study that she had gained a fair understanding.
Su Heyuan knew her nature well; since she had a plan, he wouldn’t try to form a partnership with her anymore: “If it’s convenient for you, I may indeed need to borrow some money when the time comes.”
Lu Jiaxin agreed with a laugh and then probed him on a personal matter, “I heard that you and Miss Bai have been getting along well.”
She suspected Su Heyuan’s intention to acquire a real estate company might be related to Miss Bai. After all, it’s quite difficult to run a real estate business without some background support.
Su Heyuan nodded and said, “Yes, we’re getting along well, and my dad likes her quite a bit. He’s been urging me to marry quickly. But I believe in understanding each other more, as this isn’t something to be hasty about–it’s a lifelong commitment.”
Lu Jiaxin smiled and replied, “Indeed, matters of marriage should be taken seriously. But when you are married, treat her well, and focus your thoughts on your wife and children. Whatever you do, don’t follow the example of those rich Hong Kong men who have a wife and kids at home and still keep numerous girlfriends on the side.”
Su Heyuan chuckled, saying, “I won’t. If I did that, my aunt would kill me.”
