Re-Overlord: I Can Acquire Anything! -
Chapter 185: The Lawbreaker Never Yields
Chapter 185: The Lawbreaker Never Yields
"Bastard!" the female commander snarled, her voice laced with both fury and disbelief. Her fists clenched, and veins bulged across her blue-skinned forehead. "Where is the Red Annihilation Team? Deploy them at once!"
Her command rang through the comms like a whip, and the entire Skadi frontline stiffened.
Moments later, the skies split apart.
Five figures streaked across the heavens, trailing waves of warped space behind them. The very air rippled and bent around their bodies, as though reality itself feared their presence.
These were not ordinary Skadis. They were not even part of the known military hierarchy. No rank, no insignia. Just living weapons of absolute destruction.
They were the Annihilation Red Team, the enemies top executioners.
The first was cloaked in robes woven from dark starlight. In his grasp hovered a floating triangle-shaped construct, its core pulsating with collapsing star. Every flicker of its light brought a sense of impending doom, as if it held the death of entire civilizations within.
The second, pale and hairless, held a flute carved from the bones of something ancient and unspeakable. With a single breath, the sound it emitted did not resemble music, but a soul-tearing hum that turned the nearby hills to crumbling dust.
The third was a living nightmare. A colossal titan whose body scraped the clouds, muscles like molten iron flexing with each step. From his shoulders rose six monstrous heads, each one snarling with a different emotion—fury, agony, madness, hunger, cruelty, and silence.
The earth trembled beneath him.
The fourth and fifth moved so quickly they seemed to blink in and out of existence. Trails of smoke and fire marked their wake as they circled high above like vultures seeking blood.
Each of them radiated the oppressive weight of Apex Rank. Their power caused the Overlord’s side to falter for a heartbeat. Even the mountains seemed to bow under their presence.
Yet as overwhelming as they were, they had not ascended yet.
And Igaris knew it.
Hovering above the Overlord’s camp, his blue eyes narrowed. He studied them with unnatural calm, his gaze piercing through the illusion of invincibility they projected.
"They’re powerful," he muttered to Evernight and Shirley beside him, "but they haven’t become a Ascendant Rank yet."
With this confirmed, Evernight and Shirley’s heart steadied. Relief mixed with their determination.
The Skadi Empire was infamous for its deep reserves of power. Hundreds of Apex Rank monsters served their Emperor, and a few Saints watched over their capital.
For them to send only these five Peak Mythics with two million elite soldiers, meant they were underestimating the scale of Earth’s resistance.
It made sense.
The Skadis were probably busy forcefully occupying new worlds under their banners.
Earth was just one playground. A small one. A forgotten corner.
To the Empire, sending two million troops was already an act of generosity.
But what they failed to realize was that Earth had changed. It was no longer the enslaved land they once broke beneath their boots.
They did not know about him.
About the one who had returned from the abyss of annihilation.
About the man who had touched the edges of forbidden truths and twisted the laws of the world to his will.
The one who no longer obeyed reality, but challenged it.
Igaris hovered in silence, his cloak billowing in the windless sky. Lightning danced at his feet, and his aura shimmered with ancient power.
"They think we’re the same as before," he said softly, more to himself than anyone else.
Evernight smiled faintly, her wings of angels unfolding behind her. "If so, they’re in for a cruel surprise."
The Red Anhhilation Team halted in the sky opposite them, no words spoken. Their gazes locked with Igaris and Evernight, and tension thickened like choking smoke.
Then the titan stepped forward. One of his six heads bellowed, shaking the sky.
"ROAR...."
From the ground, the female commander raised her arm. "Fire the particle cannons! Release all aerial weapons! Annihilate the Earthlings!"
Massive warships responded instantly. Cannons lit up like dying suns, energy beams tearing through the sky toward the Overlord’s army. Ground walkers opened fire, launching explosives laced with alien energy that turned sand into molten glass.
The battlefield erupted into chaos.
"BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ!"
The battlefield shook as the first volley from the particle cannons thundered across the sky. Blinding beams tore the Sky, burning swaths of cloud and atmosphere alike.
But before they could land, Igaris blurred forward, the wind exploding in his path.
Boom!
He reappeared above one of the charging cannons, his hand already extended, fingers glowing with searing golden-red energy.
World Destroying Finger.
A single tap.
The cannon didn’t explode—it simply vanished. Obliterated at the subatomic level, erased from the space-time axis.
The shockwave rolled backward, sending half the warship shuddering into fragments. The soldiers inside never even screamed.
Then Igaris turned his head toward the Red Annihilation team, his eyes glowing with unearthly light.
"Your reign ends here."
"How arrogant! Let’s see who ends here today, human!"
Without waiting, the cloaked man with the triangle construct raised it high. The geometric shape expanded, unraveling into a labyrinth of death, each line etched with divine language.
Igaris lifted his arm and twisted.
[ Dimension Sovereign ]
The space between them folded like silk. The triangle’s energy barrage curved mid-air, turning back toward its wielder. The man’s eyes widened. He tried to retract it, but it was too late.
"BOOOM!"
The explosion consumed him, shattering a quarter mile of sky in burning fractals.
But he didn’t die.
The Red Team were no weaklings. The cloaked figure emerged, his robes tattered, a gash across his chest spilling blue-black blood.
Igaris descended in a spiral, and suddenly vanished.
[ Phantom Shift.]
He reappeared behind the second Red Annihilation member, the pale flutist. The man had already started to play his weapon, but Igaris moved faster.
"Shiiiiin!"
A glint of steel.
[ Godslayer Sword Style — First Form: One Strike, One Cut ]
A wave of cutting force ripped through the sky, cleaving the soundwave in half and the flutist’s arm with it.
The ghostly melody stopped at once.
"Blurgh!"
Blood sprayed. "Abomination, Human!"
The flutist screamed, then tried to retaliate with a forbidden note.
But he was too late.
Igaris grabbed his skull then used,
[ Soul Eclipse ]
A black vortex expanded around his palm, destroying his very soul into a collapse.
Two down.
"ROOOOOARRRRR!"
The titan roared, all six of his heads shrieking in different frequencies. He charged, shaking the clouds. His punch shattered light, and for the first time, Igaris blocked.
Iron Fangs + Lightning Shell.
His arms turned to jagged metal, lightning crackling off them like coiled serpents. The blow collided.
BOOOOM!
A shockwave blasted the clouds apart. The titan stumbled, surprised his hit didn’t turn the human into mist.
But then Igaris suddenly dropped low.
[ Spin-Shell Burst.]
He twisted violently, a shell of condensed mana spinning around him. It launched him upward into the titan’s jaw.
Crack!
One of the heads exploded.
"Arrgggghhhh!"
The beast screamed and swung, but Igaris was already gone.
Above, his fingers danced in the air.
[ Infernal Tornado ]
Flames spiraled like a storm around the titan, melting his flesh and horns. But still he stood, resilient. Igaris landed on his shoulder, eyes shining.
[ Yin-Yang Reversal (Taboo).]
A forbidden symbol flared under his feet. It reversed the creature’s regenerative core into decay. The titan froze, a horrid screech escaping all mouths.
Then he fell.
His massive corpse crumbled into ash.
Three down.
The remaining two Red Annihilation elites charged together. One controlled gravity, the other time lag. Together, their domain warped into an abyss where nothing could move properly.
But Igaris smiled.
"It’s futile."
[ Space-Time Domain ]
He unleashed his own domain, a perfected one. Their warped dimension collapsed like a mirror struck by a hammer.
Then came his Six Directional Sense, and his body danced between a dozen invisible blades of temporal collapse.
He moved like a ghost in a time-frozen storm, impossible to follow.
"Try harder," he mocked.
[ Kinetic Redirection.]
He absorbed one of their gravitational waves into his arm and hurled it back like a spear. The first of the two was thrown against his own broken field and disintegrated.
The last member went invisible.
[ Umbral Veil ]
Igaris vanished as well.
Only darkness moved.
A moment later, silence broke as a bloodied corpse fell from the shadows. The fifth elite had been cleaved in half by an unseen blade.
Basic Blademastery was never basic in Igaris’ hands. It was precision refined by centuries of blood.
Igaris reappeared above the battlefield, wings of wind coiled behind him like divine serpents.
He hovered in the air, eyes scanning the remains of the Red Team.
They were all dead.
Around him, his allies fought to immobilize the warships and beasts. Evernight launched Chains of Judgement , while Shirley danced across the battlefield, taking down enemies with Phoenix Fire.
Igaris was proud seeing them standing on their own.
But this needs to be end before the loss is too great.
So he suddenly lifted both hands.
The sky seemed to be responded.
[ Nuclear Fire Manipulation ]
Twin suns formed in his palms, spiraling like miniature supernovas.
He hurled them toward the two main capital ships still hovering in defiance.
They tried to escape.
But they couldn’t.
"BOOOOOOOOM!"
"BOOOOOOOOM!"
The suns detonated. Mountains split. Skies bled. The seas on the horizon hissed as shockwaves reached their edges.
On the floating cities beyond the ocean, people stood stunned.
Mothers clutched their children. Warriors dropped their spears. Elders fell to their knees.
They saw the battle of gods.
And in the center of it all, Igaris Vance remained floating, unmoved, unharmed, and unyielding.
The man who defied reality had just created a legend.
The Skadi Empire would never forget this day.
And Earth would never kneel again.
