Chapter 215: Chapter 215 We Are Now Family
Thanks to Easton Holmes’ righteous intervention, Lily Turner finally broke through the circle of reporters and quickly got into the car with him.
"You shouldn’t have come down to help me. Tomorrow they’ll start making wild..." As soon as Lily sat in the car seat, she began to speak, but before she could finish, Easton turned sideways to face her, and she instinctively stopped.
Easton took off the sunglasses that were obstructing his nose and casually tossed them onto the back seat. "Lily Turner! Now tell me, who am I to you?"
His eyes were fixed on her, and his cold face showed no expression.
"You’re my husband!"
Although Lily hadn’t had time to remove her own sunglasses, they didn’t hinder her from clearly seeing Easton in front of her.
She could tell he was very angry because this was the first time he had addressed her by her full name.
This answer satisfied Easton very much. Lily’s unhesitating attitude pleased him even more, though outwardly, he maintained the same expressionless demeanor.
"As your husband, was it inappropriate for me to come down and save you? Am I embarrassing you?" He leaned closer, just so she could see him up close.
"I didn’t mean it that way."
Lily raised her hand to push Easton, who had leaned in close to her. She knew he had a point, and she was particularly moved by his intervention, but she didn’t want him exposed in front of the reporters.
She had experienced the reporters’ penchant for sensationalism, and she genuinely didn’t want them to write nonsense about him, as that would disrupt his life.
Easton leaned in once more and pursued, "Then what do you mean?"
"I don’t want them to write nonsense about you. That way, your life will become as chaotic as mine." Lily raised her hand again to push Easton, but this time she didn’t succeed. Instead, her raised hand was smoothly grasped by him.
With a slight exertion of his wrist, Easton easily pulled Lily into his embrace. Before she could react to what he intended to do, he suddenly lowered his head and kissed her.
This guy! There are still reporters outside.
Thinking about the reporters lingering outside made it hard for Lily to calm down. She raised her other hand to push Easton, who was holding her, but after a few attempts, she couldn’t push him away.
She thought he would kiss for a while, but to her surprise, he quickly lifted his head.
"Remember in the future, I am your husband, you are my wife, and the two of us are a family now. Let those people say what they want; we live our own lives."
He couldn’t care less about what others might say, nor was he concerned with conforming to public opinion.
To him, they were strangers completely irrelevant to his life, so why worry about their comments and perceptions?
Easton withdrew his arm, granting Lily the freedom to move. Once settled, he asked her, "What do you feel like eating tonight? I’ll take you out for it."
Upon hearing Easton’s question, Lily suddenly remembered that she had arranged to have porridge with Grant Heath.
"Let’s go for porridge. My friend has already gone ahead." Lily took out her phone from her pocket, glanced at the address Grant had sent her, and then relayed the location to Easton.
"Do you girls always pick such picky meals?"
Hearing Lily say they were going for porridge, Easton presumptuously assumed the friend she mentioned was a girl.
