Chapter 197: Chapter 197: I’m Willing

Just as Easton Holmes was about to send a text message reply to Lily Turner, Amelia Linton called him, and with a swipe of his hand, he directly hung up.

But before he could type a single word, the phone rang again, and once again it was his mom calling.

"Whose call is it? Why aren’t you answering?"

Seeing that Easton Holmes had no intention of answering the phone, Jaxon Dyer, who had already stood up and walked over, asked curiously, but he didn’t crane his head to look.

Easton Holmes turned his head to glance at Jaxon Dyer, and with a slide of his slender fingers on the screen, he picked up Amelia Linton’s call.

"What’s up?" His tone was indifferent, his expression was indifferent, and his attitude was equally indifferent.

"Come home for lunch, I’ll have Sister Gui prepare the meal."

"I’ve already started eating in the canteen."

Amelia Linton barely finished speaking before Easton Holmes immediately refused.

Unbeknownst to him, he didn’t realize his mom meant going back to the Military District Compound home. He thought she was calling him to his parents’ place for lunch and refused without a second thought.

"Is that woman eating with you in the canteen? You can’t do that, if you do, people will..."

"It’s none of your business what we do."

When Lily Turner left home earlier, Amelia Linton thought Lily went to the Military Department to find Easton Holmes, and upon hearing Easton say he was eating in the canteen, her first thought was that Lily was eating there with him.

She was about to remind her son on the other end of the line that doing so would spark gossip, but he interrupted her before she could finish.

Easton Holmes still hadn’t realized at this point; he still hadn’t thought that Amelia Linton was at his Military District Compound home, and he was upset about her meddling in his affairs.

Upon hearing this, Amelia Linton was further convinced that Lily had gone to find Easton Holmes to complain after leaving home, and angrily said, "You can’t believe everything that woman says, what she says might not be the whole truth."

The relationship between the mother and son was already strained, and if that woman continued to interfere, their relationship would only worsen.

"Did you go to my place to find Lily?"

Upon hearing this, Easton Holmes suddenly realized, and his mother’s earlier words rushed through his mind once more. After sorting through it, his brow furrowed sharply, "Are you at my place right now?"

Even though he was asking the person on the other end of the line, he already had a definite answer in his heart.

"Didn’t that woman tell you where I am?" Amelia Linton retorted instinctively, and after retorting, she immediately added with dissatisfaction, "Go ahead and indulge that woman, she’ll hurt you sooner or later."

"I want to!"

Easton Holmes simply replied with three words, and regardless of how Amelia Linton might react on the other end, he directly hung up the call.

After hanging up, he found Jaxon Dyer looking at him with a puzzled expression and said, "I can’t go eat with you, I have to leave first."

With that said, he lifted his steps and walked toward the door.

Under Jaxon Dyer’s confused and worried gaze, Easton Holmes walked out of Jaxon Dyer’s office.

After walking out, he went nowhere else and directly drove home.

When Easton Holmes arrived home, Amelia Linton was sulking on the couch in the living room. When she saw him come in, she sprang up immediately.

"What, did that woman ask you to come back and argue with me?" Her first words were full of deep dissatisfaction and anger.
