Chapter 196: Chapter 196: Just Say I Borrowed His Wife for a Bit

Hearing Lily Turner suddenly mention Jaxon Dyer, Bella Carter suddenly realized a problem. She stood up with the thermos container, "Lily! You watch TV here, I’ll take the dumplings to the kitchen."

She was so excited earlier that she actually forgot about her husband.

Haha! What a thing!

"I... I’ll watch TV here, you just go ahead." Lily Turner instinctively wanted to say she’d go but as soon as she opened her mouth she felt it wasn’t appropriate, so she quickly changed her words.

Bella Carter smiled at Lily Turner, picked up the thermos container, and left the living room heading to the kitchen. After entering the kitchen, she immediately closed the kitchen door.

Before she could put down the thermos container in her hand, she took out her phone from her pocket and dialed Jaxon Dyer’s number without any delay.

"Honey! What’s wrong?"

The phone had just rung once when Jaxon Dyer answered. Not knowing what was going on at home, he thought his pregnant wife was in trouble; worry immediately flooded his heart.

Over the phone, Bella Carter could hear her husband’s anxiety and concern. She quickly explained, "Honey! I’m fine, I called to tell you that we have a guest at our house today. Don’t come home for lunch; the dumplings mom sent over are only enough for two people. You should eat at the Military Department canteen today."

Without opening the thermos container, she also knew that the dumplings inside were only enough for two servings. Her mother-in-law couldn’t have known that there was a guest at home.

"There’s a guest at our house? Who?" Knowing his wife was alright, Jaxon Dyer’s heart settled back into place. Since there was a guest, he’d just make do with a meal at the canteen.

However, listening to his wife’s tone, the guest must be someone his wife was very pleased with. His wife hadn’t been this excited in a long time.

Who could this guest possibly be?

As Jaxon Dyer was puzzling over this, Bella Carter on the other end of the line cleared up the mystery for him, "Lily is at our house, I’m keeping her for dumplings."

"Oh! Then you two have a good chat."

After hearing Bella Carter’s explanation, Jaxon Dyer gave an understanding "oh", suddenly realizing who the guest was.

Before Jaxon Dyer could hang up the phone, Bella Carter suddenly added, "By the way! Let Easton know just say that I’m borrowing his wife for a bit."

The situation happened suddenly; her idol probably hadn’t had time to call and inform her husband, so she had to do it for her.

"Got it, I’ll definitely pass on the message as it is."

After Jaxon Dyer finished speaking, he hung up while smiling at Easton Holmes, who was sitting across from him on the chair, "Your wife is at my house now, so you can join me for lunch in the canteen today."

When Bella Carter called, Easton Holmes and Jaxon Dyer were in the office discussing matters, with Easton sitting right across from Jaxon.

He had heard the entire phone conversation but didn’t know that the guest they were discussing was his wife.

"Lily is at your house?" It was not a question, but surprise.

"Yep! My wife invited your wife to our home for dumplings." Jaxon Dyer put his phone back into his pocket and stood up from the chair, "Let’s go! It’s time for us to have lunch too; we can talk while eating."

Just then, Easton Holmes’s phone suddenly rang; someone sent him a text message, which he took out and looked at.

As he anticipated, the message was from Lily Turner.

"Don’t bring me lunch today; I’m eating dumplings at Captain Dyer’s house."

After reading the message, Easton Holmes couldn’t help but lift the corners of his lips into a charming smile.
