Chapter 187: Chapter 187 Mrs. Huo! You are so amazing
"Are you a regular here?"
Lily Turner had just sat down when she straightforwardly asked Easton Holmes, who had sat next to her. Although she was asking him, she could already tell the answer without needing his response.
Easton leaned slightly towards Lily with a relaxed smile on his face, "Did you notice?"
He wasn’t just a regular here; this place was one of his businesses, and because the food suited his taste, he, the hidden owner, had become a regular.
"I’ve got 20/20 vision," Lily pointed to her eyes with a smug expression.
Seeing her like this, Easton found it utterly adorable and couldn’t help but burst into laughter, "Mrs. Holmes! You’re amazing!"
Saying that, he cooperatively gave her a thumbs-up.
"Thanks for the praise!"
Lily playfully smacked Easton’s hand with the thumb raised, but the corners of her mouth curled up into a beautiful smile.
Watching Lily’s mood improve, Easton’s own spirits lifted. He tried to steer the conversation to a lighter tone, and she played along very well.
At this moment, both of them seemed to forget the earlier unpleasantness. They chatted casually with each other.
Due to their conscious or unconscious avoidance of certain unpleasant topics, the atmosphere during the meal was quite pleasant.
"Try this fish; it tastes good."
Easton placed a big piece of fish into Lily’s bowl. He noticed she ate very little meat and seemed uninterested in it.
Seeing the suddenly hefty portion of fish in her bowl, Lily frowned slightly but soon returned to her usual expression.
"Half is enough for me; I can’t eat such a big piece." She split it with her chopsticks, putting the other half back into Easton’s bowl.
It’s not that she didn’t eat meat; she just had a specific schedule. Even on the days she ate meat, she wouldn’t overindulge.
Though they hadn’t shared many meals together, Easton noticed a serious issue with Lily’s eating habits. She ate very little and didn’t eat any meat at all.
"Lily! You need to change your eating habits," he thought, assuming she was skipping meals to lose weight, which he internally disapproved of.
In his eyes, she was already skin and bones. If she kept it up, he feared she would become as thin as paper.
"What’s wrong with my eating habits? Why should I change?" Lily had grown accustomed to her eating style over the years and didn’t see anything wrong with it.
Easton was about to address Lily’s eating habits but, at the last second, he glanced at the food on the table and changed his mind.
"Let’s eat first; we can talk more afterwards." He realized her eating issues couldn’t be solved all at once, so he decided to discuss it with her after the meal, otherwise the food would get cold.
Easton’s suggestion was exactly what Lily wanted. As soon as he finished speaking, she nodded in agreement with a smile, "Yeah! Let’s eat quickly; weren’t you just saying you were starving?"
She pointed to his bowl with her chopsticks, reminding him to focus on eating his own meal. Only when he started concentrating on eating could she eat freely.
She didn’t want any more extra portions in her bowl; they would leave her agonizing over whether to eat or not.
