Chapter 745: Chapter 341 Looking Up at Chang’e_1
That is the true horror!
If the great battle that was seen only between the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court and the Human Clan’s Heavenly Court is called a great war, then in front of the Black Mirror, it is but a joke played by little children!
After all, the Black Mirror contains the dark incarnations of all powerful beings from ancient times to the present.
Qin Shou shook his head to dispel the distracting thoughts in his mind and started his enlightenment once more!
However, Qin Shou quickly opened his eyes in frustration. He had been able to seek enlightenment before because he had learned top-tier Cultivation Techniques. Even if he did not use those techniques for cultivation, they could still serve as catalysts for enlightenment. Those techniques could help him directly enter the state of enlightenment...
But after becoming an immortal, he no longer had any top-tier Cultivation Techniques, so...
"Damn it!" Qin Shou couldn’t help but curse.
Still, Qin Shou was not resigned to failure; he refused to believe he was a cultivation dud!
So, for the next two days, Qin Shou’s mind was empty and his snoring loud...
After two days, Qin Shou had to accept the reality that he was really not cut out for cultivation. He couldn’t feel the existence of the great path of heaven and earth at all!
Qin Shou even felt as though the great path of heaven and earth was avoiding him...
"Don’t let me catch you!" Qin Shou cursed in his heart and then began to research his own body out of sheer boredom.
Since he couldn’t make rapid progress in the cultivation of the path, he had to start digging into his own potential, enhancing his strength bit by bit.
However, what frustrated Qin Shou was that he seemed to have no potential left to dig.
Just as Qin Shou was about to exit his sea of consciousness, he suddenly caught sight of the Immortal Inscriptions and was astonished to find that they had changed!
On the front, there were no writings, only patterns of traces—and Qin Shou was quite familiar with those marks. They were clearly the marks of the great path chain after he had gnawed it into a shape where it was thinner in the middle and wider on the sides, quivering like a jump rope!
Qin Shou smacked his lips and said, "What use is this thing? The Immortal Inscriptions were better."
After he spoke, Qin Shou walked around to the back of the Stele. The text there had not changed much, but the information about his innate magic, Swallow, had changed.
Swallow Heaven and Earth: "An enhanced version of Swallow, with more powerful swallowing abilities and a larger scope. When used against others’ mind and soul, it can forcibly extract the runes of their enlightenment on the great path of heaven and earth and make it one’s own."
Upon reading this, Qin Shou’s eyes widened, and then he broke into a hysterical laughter, "Hahaha... I knew it, god wouldn’t cut off my path. He closed a window but opened a door, haha..."
Qin Shou laughed aloud and opened his eyes, only to see Fat Cat and Chongba looking at him with anxious eyes. They exchanged glances, shook their heads, and sighed, "He’s lost it."
Qin Shou gave them a disdainful look and grabbed Chongba, asking, "Chongba, you’ve spent a lot of time in the depths of the starry skies. Tell me, are there really many Heavenly Demons deep in the starry skies?"
Chongba nodded and said, "The range of my activities hasn’t actually reached the deep parts of the boundless stars of the universe; I’ve just been roaming around the outskirts. But even the outskirts have Heavenly Demons... I’ve heard that the deeper you go into the starry skies, the more numerous and terrifying the Heavenly Demons become. The boundless stars of the universe is essentially a place of exile. The deeper it is, the thinner the Yuan Qi and the further it is from the great path of heaven and earth. In such a place, let alone cultivating, maintaining one’s existing strength is good enough. Moreover, in an area with scarce Yuan Qi, everyone is desperately trying to preserve their own and not waste any. There’s no need for conflict, and no one acts against another. Of course, if someone senses an opportunity, they won’t hesitate to kill and steal Yuan Qi for their own survival.
Thus, I’ve been told that deep within the boundless stars of the universe is a place that seems peaceful but is actually full of dangers."
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou’s forehead began to sweat. If such a dangerous place exists, wouldn’t Chang’e be in even greater danger?
"Cauldron, how much longer until we reach our destination?" Qin Shou asked anxiously.
"Almost there, this is the last node, and we’re about to exit. Based on my multiple experiences shuttling through portals, we should be exiting soon," the Eight Trigrams Furnace said.
Instead of feeling relieved, Qin Shou became even more nervous upon hearing this. He was a bit afraid, afraid of the possibility that they might emerge to terrible news. What then?
Just then, the Eight Trigrams Furnace burst into laughter, "Rabbit, see, I was right, weren’t I? We’re about to exit, charge!"
The next moment, the Eight Trigrams Furnace shot out of the Star Gate!
Qin Shou hastened to climb out of the Eight Trigrams Furnace and look outside. He didn’t see the moon, but instead saw more than twenty planets floating in the starry sky. Some of these planets were incredibly huge, and some were crystal clear. There were stars, planets, ones like they were cast in gold, and others as if frosted with ice...
It was one thing for these celestial bodies to gather together, but around the stars, there were countless small asteroids and massive meteorites drifting in space!
Upon seeing this, Qin Shou was stunned and scratched his head, saying, "Damn it, Cao, are the stars holding a meeting or something?"
Just then, a withered old man looked over, his big mouth revealing a full set of yellow teeth as he grinned and chuckled, "Fellow Daoist, have you also come to seize the stars?"
Qin Shou was taken aback and thought to himself, "Seize the stars?"
If this had been in the Immortal Realm, Qin Shou would definitely have asked him directly, "Seize what stars?"
But this was deep within the boundless stars of the universe, where one could say that anyone encountered was up to no good!
The people here were not as simple-minded as those outside. Naturally, Qin Shou wouldn’t naively make such a low-level mistake. So, narrowing his eyes, he smiled and said, "Yes... I heard the news not long ago. You arrived quickly, fellow Daoist."
Seeing Qin Shou respond this way, the old man nodded slightly, then turned his head away and paid him no more heed.
Upon seeing this, Qin Shou immediately breathed a sigh of relief. This old man had indeed been testing him!
"Cauldron, what do we do now?" the Eight Trigrams Furnace asked in a low voice.
Just as Qin Shou was about to say something, the old man suddenly turned back and reached out with a claw!
Qin Shou hastily stepped back and exclaimed angrily, "What are you doing?"
The old man chuckled, "Nothing much, just an itchy hand... Don’t misunderstand."
Qin Shou rolled his eyes and cursed inwardly, "Itchy hand? If you’re itchy, scratch yourself, damn it! Why are you grabbing me?"
It became clear to Qin Shou that seeing him as weak, the old man was looking to take advantage by killing someone off-handedly!
Qin Shou could feel it; the old man’s look was full of contempt when he looked at him, but when he looked at the Eight Trigrams Furnace, there was a gleam in his eyes. Qin Shou was all too familiar with that gleam–it was nearly the same as when he saw others’ magic treasures, pills, and delicacies, twinkling with golden light.
Thinking this, Qin Shou pulled out Fat Cat and placed it beside him.
Upon seeing Fat Cat, the old man’s eyebrows furrowed. He cupped his fists and said, "It turns out there was another Daoist here. I have matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave now."
Seeing this, Qin Shou hurriedly called out, "Fellow Daoist, wait!"
