Chapter 728: Chapter 324 Cavalry_1
The Kitchen God did not speak, waving his cleaver and chopping towards Qin Shou!
Qin Shou knew this was not his master, so he naturally did not show any courtesy. Yet, he was full of questions and very much wanted to catch someone who could speak to have a good chat.
Just then, the Kitchen God’s cleaver landed next to Qin Shou.
Fat Cat lazily said, "Hurry up, I’m tired."
Only then did Qin Shou make his move, grabbing the other’s hand, snatching the cleaver, and tossing it into his mouth to eat!
He was very clear, what he ate was his, otherwise, all would turn to ash!
So, Qin Shou began to horrifically plunder the Kitchen God. He didn’t kill him, just forced him to take out one magic treasure after another to battle with him, then he would eat them one by one, nourishing his empty belly.
Soon the Kitchen God’s magic treasures were all thrown out, and Qin Shou took out a brick and smashed the Kitchen God’s head with one hit!
Almost simultaneously, Qin Shou shouted, "Fat Cat!"
Fat Cat responded, "I’m waiting!"
A strange pattern suddenly appeared in Fat Cat’s eyes, a pattern so mysterious and complex that just one look made Qin Shou feel dizzy.
At the same time, eerie patterns appeared on the rooftop, descending like a giant net from the sky!
Qin Shou immediately saw a black shadow slam against the net!
"Hurry up! Without prep-time for formations, I can’t trap it for long," yelled Fat Cat.
Qin Shou soared into the sky, opened his mouth wide, and swallowed!
The black shadow was directly swallowed by Qin Shou, but he did not eat it and instead kept it in his mouth.
Seeing this, Fat Cat quickly retracted its magic, then lay on the ground like a dead dog, panting and saying, "So tired, so tired... This soul is too enigmatic... To trap others’ souls is like a spiderweb catching flies, trapping a physical entity. But trapping this one is like using water as a knife’s edge, it takes all my strength just to keep it from breaking free. Truly strange..."
Qin Shou paid no heed, instead pointing to his mouth, indicating what to do now.
Fat Cat opened its mouth and spat out a Crystal Ball, "Throw it in here, it’ll trap it for a while."
Qin Shou nodded and spat at the Crystal Ball, which emitted a dark light and instantly sucked in the black figure.
Then, the shadow gradually condensed within the Crystal Ball, taking the form of the Kitchen God!
Seeing this, Qin Shou hurriedly proposed, "I’ll ask you questions, you answer them, and I promise not to kill you, how about that?"
The Kitchen God gave Qin Shou a wide, fiendish smile, then made a throat-slashing gesture at him.
Qin Shou became immediately infuriated and cursed, "Ungrateful!" In the middle of speaking, he grabbed the Crystal Ball and stuffed it toward his mouth.
Fat Cat, summoning an unknown burst of energy, quickly sprang up, grabbed the Crystal Ball and struggled to pull it back, meanwhile lashing Qin Shou’s mouth with its tail while shouting, "Stop, stop, stop..."
Only then did Qin Shou stop and let go.
Fat Cat glared, hugging the Crystal Ball, "This is my treasure, watch your mouth."
Qin Shou, with a wronged expression, said, "I just got carried away and forgot."
Fat Cat chuckled and said, "Nobody believes you forgot. I think you’re just greedy, trying to take advantage at the moment."
Qin Shou’s face turned red, not expecting Fat Cat to see through his intentions. Fortunately, with a face full of white fur, Fat Cat couldn’t see his blushing.
While the two were about to say something else, suddenly a horn sounded from outside, followed by the rumble of horse hoofs pounding the earth.
Qin Shou and the Fat Cat exchanged a glance, hastily tucked away the Crystal Ball, and hid by the window, peeping through the crack.
At the end of the street, a troop of pitch-black iron cavalry raced past furiously!
These iron cavalrymen were all on black steeds, wearing black armor, and beneath their helmets was a pitch-black mask, without even their eyes exposed. At first glance, they looked like iron statues cast entirely of pure iron.
The number of soldiers was immense, it took a whole half hour before they had all passed by.
Once the soldiers had traveled far away, Qin Shou and the Fat Cat looked at each other again, both seeing the horror in the other’s eyes!
This was the Fat Cat’s first encounter with so many humanoid creatures, feeling a mix of wonder and excitement, followed finally by dread.
Qin Shou was shocked by the horror of the Black Demon Box, that it could contain a whole world inside — perhaps even a Heavenly Court! That alone was astonishing, but there were also so many bizarre life forms inside!
The most amazing thing was the iron cavalry. Qin Shou could see clearly that any one of these cavalrymen could be a Human Immortal!
Judging by the combat strength of the Heavenly Court outside, these iron cavalrymen could instantly kill any army from the Heavenly Court in terms of individual combat prowess.
"Damn, with such terrifying combat power, why is this place so ruined?" Qin Shou muttered subconsciously.
Just then, a bark rang out.
Qin Shou looked out the window and saw a pitch-black, skinless dog appear outside. Upon seeing it, Qin Shou cursed, "Why is there a dog here too?"
"Woof woof woof!"
The dog barked madly toward the spot where Qin Shou and the Fat Cat were hiding. Seeing this, Qin Shou immediately rushed out and flattened the dog with a Brick.
However, before Qin Shou could hide again, a dreadful gust of cold wind blew from afar, and he saw a black wind enveloping the sky and sweeping towards him!
At the same time, the thundering sound of hooves rang out once more!
With just a glance, Qin Shou knew they were no match for these beings.
Qin Shou shouted, "Fat Cat, run for it!"
But when he turned around, he saw the Fat Cat already standing upright and running like a person!
Qin Shou hurriedly gave chase, calling out, "Why didn’t you tell me you were running?"
The Fat Cat gasped for air, "I... huff... I... huff... how do I signal? Huff..."
Qin Shou wanted to slap him for looking like this, not believing for a second that this damn cat would be so out of breath from running just a few steps; his strength was definitely at the level of a top Golden Immortal, or possibly even half a step to Great Golden Immortal. How could such a being be out of breath after a few steps? Not even death could cause that.
Moreover, even if he was out of breath, so what? Couldn’t you have used telepathy?
But with enemies on their heels, it wasn’t the time to settle scores, so Qin Shou had no choice but to keep sprinting.
Unfortunately, neither of them were particularly fast...
As they ran, the Fat Cat finally remembered telepathy and sent a message, "What’s going on? Why are there fewer and fewer soldiers? Listen to the footsteps, they’re getting sparser, but the sound is getting louder."
Initially, Qin Shou had not noticed this, but upon listening carefully, it was true; the sound of the charging warhorses behind them was diminishing, yet the volume was intensifying.
Qin Shou immediately employed his three heads and six arms, holding one hand over his eyes like a canopy to look back, and what he saw made his hair stand on end!
Not a single cavalryman was missing; the number was so great that they filled the streets, a dense mass!
But their running rhythm was becoming more synchronized, and since the frequency was converging, they landed and lifted their feet simultaneously, resulting in a uniform sound, which created the illusion of the noise diminishing.
