The Eight Trigrams Furnace asked, "So, are we leaving now or what?"

Qin Shou gestured dismissively, "Let’s go. This guy doesn’t seem to be cultivating his physical body, he’s more likely to just swallow me whole instead of pounding me... Can’t use it for practice, can’t beat it, what’s the point of fighting? Let’s head out."

Eventually, the Eight Trigrams Furnace activated the Star Gate, and Qin Shou and the others dived in, setting off on their journey.

The following part of their journey was more tedious than Qin Shou had imagined. If the first two times they opened the Star Gate they could appear on a planet and look up at countless stars, then now, all they saw each time they arrived was barrenness.

As time went on, they could hardly see any planets at all, and occasionally, they would see some broken star remnants.

Also, the time spent in Star Gate transit was growing longer and longer. For instance, they had been walking through the Star Gate for seven days now and still couldn’t see the exit.

Qin Shou rubbed his stomach and said, "All I want to find is someone who can give me a good fight, damn it, why is it so hard? They say this place is dangerous, but I can’t even see a bird!"

Chongba yawned and said, "Call me when we get there; I’m going back to sleep."

Qin Shou looked at Chongba enviously, "If I didn’t know you were the son of a dragon, I’d really think you’re descended from a tortoise, sleeping a week at a stretch!"

Since they never seemed to reach their destination, Qin Shou decided not to idle away his time. After instructing the Eight Trigrams Furnace to be vigilant, he once again entered the Black Demon Box.

However, the moment Qin Shou stepped into the Black Demon Box, a black object followed him in too.

Qin Shou recognized it instantly, his hair standing on end as he exclaimed in shock, "The Abyss?"

The darkness converged into a silhouette who chuckled, "So this is where you are, huh?"

Qin Shou quickly looked up, realizing that the Abyss in front of him was merely a human-sized clump of darkness, not the big fellow blocking out the stars.

Qin Shou immediately felt braver and pointed at the Abyss, asking, "How did you get here?"

The Abyss tilted its head to look at the rabbit, and cold sweat immediately broke out on Qin Shou’s forehead as he asked, "What are you going to do?"

The Abyss pointed around and said, "So you were here!"

Having said that, the Abyss turned into a swirl of darkness and surged towards the peak of Throne Mountain below!

Seeing someone else going for his prey, Qin Shou couldn’t have that. Not knowing where his courage came from, he shouted, "You, stop right there!"

In the midst of speaking, Qin Shou had already caught up with the Abyss, throwing a punch at it. He found out that the Abyss was indeed like a clump of darkness with no substance; his fist passed straight through its chest with no reaction whatsoever from the other side.

Then Qin Shou got mad, and simply followed behind, setting fires, spraying water, and slapping bricks.

But none of these magical powers could harm the darkness in the slightest!

Just as Qin Shou was getting annoyed, the darkness suddenly turned around and rushed into the multitude of dry bones under Throne Mountain. Then, like someone sweeping up trash, all the bones it passed were swept up, merging into the darkness. Its body then began to increase at a geometric rate!

Qin Shou could feel that the strength of this mass of Abyss wasn’t too powerful in itself, but after swallowing those bones, its strength soared like a rocket!

Qin Shou had always thought that the world inside his Black Demon Box was nothing but a heap of trash, peculiar yes, but nothing too spectacular.

He had never found anything valuable inside it and had never imagined that the skeletons he dismissed as garbage contained such terrifying Yuan Qi, or perhaps said more accurately, a terrifying dark resentment!

It had boosted the strength of an abyss that was merely at the Human Immortal level all the way up to Level Nine of Golden Immortal in one breath!

And then there was Qin Shou himself. He had devoured so many heavenly and earthly treasures without restraint, and yet, he had reached only Level Four of Golden Immortal!

In his urgency, Qin Shou opened his mouth wide, ready to swallow the abyss whole.

Unexpectedly, the abyss suddenly sped up and ran away, leaving Qin Shou unable to catch up no matter how he chased.

Qin Shou was actually quite perplexed. The abyss was so ferocious, so why was it indifferent to him? After all, if it could consume those monstrous dragon heads, why didn’t it eat him, the Eight Trigrams Furnace, or Chongba?

Could it be because his righteous energy was too pure, not fitting the abyss’s palate?

While Qin Shou was filled with confusion, the abyss suddenly dived towards the hillock Tianpeng Marshal had fled from earlier and then lay atop it.

Qin Shou saw that part of the hillock began to be devoured by it!

Then, with a whoosh, the abyss’s body expanded dramatically, growing in size tenfold!

The overwhelming aura told Qin Shou all too clearly that it had almost set foot on the level of Great Golden Immortal!

And as it continued to devour more of the hillock, its body grew increasingly vast. Qin Shou had a faint premonition that it might break through to the level of Great Golden Immortal!

Sure enough, after a muffled sound, the darkness expanded yet again, seemingly about to engulf the entire hillock.

Qin Shou’s gaze subconsciously followed the expanding edge of the abyss’s body. After all, the abyss was but a mass of darkness; no matter how you looked at it, it was just a dark blob with nothing much to see. If you really wanted to see something, you had to look from the edge of the darkness, where there was at least something to make out.

This was the first time Qin Shou scrutinized this small hillock carefully, and to his astonishment, he discovered there were buildings on it!

It seemed to be a pagoda, or perhaps a temple, or it could also be described as a huge temple-like pagoda!

The only difference was that the dome of the temple was sheared off, leaving only ruins and remnants. Even so, one could discern the splendor of the temple in its heyday.

Like a large shell, the temple sat atop the long hillock, appearing quite eerie.
