Chapter 583: Chapter 187: Pitiful Doll_1
"What’s going on?" Qin Shou rubbed his head and asked Kui San beside him.
Kui San also rubbed his head and looked at Qin Shou, saying, "Is the class over?"
Qin Shou nodded and said, "Makes sense, let’s go home!"
"Hey!" Kui San nodded, picked up the bronze dragon that was looking at them as if they were idiots, and followed Qin Shou out.
When the two returned to where they lived, Qin Shou asked Kui San if he was hungry. Kui San casually pulled out a whale and said, "Not hungry, do you want it?"
Qin Shou looked at the huge whale and shook his head, "Forget it, you keep it."
Kui San asked, "Is it too small for you? When I caught it, my big brother also thought it was small."
Qin Shou: "..."
Before long, Li Zhenying and the others came back too. Qin Shou asked them with concern if Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha had spoken about "The Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Sutra" afterward, and Li Zhenying said he hadn’t.
Qin Shou felt relieved, then asked if she knew when Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha would talk about it?
After thinking for a while, Li Zhenying shook her head, "He didn’t say, he only talked about ’The Lankavatara Sutra’ today."
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou sighed... but he wasn’t in a hurry. He had recently advanced to the Void Returning level not too long ago and could feel that his foundation was unstable. Everyone said that the heavenly tribulation was hard to cross, so he naturally wanted to be fully prepared, lest he be struck dead on the Ascension Bridge before even returning to the Heavenly Court.
In the following days, Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, intentionally or unintentionally, talked every day about various principles of being human, as well as righteousness between heaven and earth, Buddhist Law, and so on.
Qin Shou listened until he was drowsy... Of course, the final result was always that he fell asleep and then got thrown out.
Until one day...
Slap!
Qin Shou was dumped outside the temple. When he looked up, he saw, to his surprise, not Kui San, but a chubby little boy! Upon a closer look, it was the big-headed child who had caused trouble that day!
The big-headed child rubbed his head, glanced at Qin Shou, and with a snicker said, "You guys really do use this method to skip classes, heh heh..."
After saying that, the big-headed child ran off.
Qin Shou then looked at Kui San beside him. Kui San said, "He’s imitating us, should we hit him?"
Qin Shou waved his hands hastily, "Forget it, forget it, we’re all classmates, don’t always be thinking about hitting people. Besides, I think there’s no need for us to hit this kid."
Kui San, not understanding, asked, "What do you mean?"
Qin Shou counter-asked, "Who used to hit you when you did something wrong?"
Kui San thought for a moment and said, "My dad..."
Qin Shou chuckled and motioned to Kui San with a finger, "Do this later..."
Buddha Mountain and the Heavenly Court’s Shushan were somewhat alike. Each was a world unto itself, with its own cities and temples. Inside the city lived many humans and Asuras who had been converted. These people coexisted peacefully without much trouble.
In the evening, on the main road of Lankavatara City, a rabbit, a dopey tall guy, and a little girl squatted side by side against a wall.
Li Zhenying curiously asked, "Bunny, why aren’t we staying at home? What are we doing here?"
Qin Shou snickered, "Watching a show."
Kui San also snickered stupidly.
"What show?" Li Zhenying didn’t understand.
Qin Shou didn’t answer, and Li Zhenying slapped Kui San, demanding, "Kui San, you tell me."
Kui San continued to chuckle mischievously, laughing heartily for a full half-minute. Just when Li Zhenying was about to get angry, he finally said, "I don’t know either."
Qin Shou, Li Zhenying: "..."
Just then, a series of woeful screams rang out, followed by a large-headed child sprinting past, shouting as he ran, "Dad, stop hitting me, I won’t skip class anymore, okay? Damn it, which bastard sent a message to our house? Fuck you all! I’ll remember this grudge, young master hasn’t forgotten!"
At the same time, a man riding a dark warhorse, wielding a steel chain capable of making a bull cry, chased after the large-headed child while lashing out, causing sparks to fly off the kid’s head as he cursed, "You little brat, still running? Stand still for me!"
"If you don’t hit me, I’ll stand still," the large-headed child continued running.
The man behind kept whipping, while exclaiming, "Hey, take this!"
The two of them ran off into the distance...
Kui San scratched his head and said, "Is he stupid? How can two legs ever outpace someone on horseback? Running or not, he’s going to get hit, so why bother running?"
Qin Shou also nodded in agreement, "He’s got a big head, probably not much brain in there."
It was at this moment that Li Zhenying finally recovered from her shock, covering her mouth in disbelief, "Oh my heavens, such a thick iron chain, isn’t that a bit too cruel? Is that his real child?"
Qin Shou chuckled, "Definitely not."
Li Zhenying and Kui San looked at Qin Shou simultaneously, asking, "How do you know?"
Qin Shou said, "Look at that man riding the horse, his head is as small as a walnut. Now look at that large-headed child..."
On closer inspection, indeed, the man on the horse had a head that was much smaller than that of an average person. Then they looked at the large-headed child, and as Li Zhenying realized the implication, Kui San still appeared puzzled, "So what?"
Qin Shou said, "One has a large head, the other has a small head, can’t you see?"
Kui San said, "My dad’s head is small too."
Qin Shou and Li Zhenying: "..."
Just then, a carriage sped past. Pulled by four splendid horses, the "carriage" was actually unenclosed, more like a flatbed. On the flatbed was a large bed with a sun umbrella overhead, under which sat a large-headed fat man. The fat man seemed in a hurry, furiously wiping the sweat off his face while cursing at the coachman, "Can you hurry the fuck up?"
After cursing, he then shouted at the top of his lungs, "Sun Wu, go easy on him! That’s your own son! What if you beat him stupid?"
Witnessing this scene, Qin Shou and Li Zhenying exchanged a glance and wiped the sweat from their foreheads, realizing this family was a bit chaotic...
Only Kui San, clueless, asked, "What’s wrong with that fat man? If a father’s disciplining his son, why should he interfere?"
Qin Shou cleared his throat and said, "Let’s go, time to go home."
Upon hearing this, Kui San followed Qin Shou and Li Zhenying.
On the way, Qin Shou said, "Don’t hold a grudge against that large-headed child, he’s got it tough too."
"Yeah, indeed, he’s had a rough time," Kui San remarked.
Qin Shou and Li Zhenying: "..."
On the way back, Qin Shou encountered the large-headed child. When the child saw Qin Shou, he clearly froze for a second, then angrily exclaimed, "Was it you who snitched to the ground?"
Qin Shou made a gesture of respect and asked, "And then what?"
Remembering the rabbit’s martial prowess, the large-headed child instantly wilted...
Qin Shou patted his shoulder and said, "Brother He, do you think you’re like me without a father to discipline you? You have a father, so better take it easy from now on."
The large-headed child was speechless... at that moment, he suddenly envied this fatherless rabbit.
