Rabbit Must Die

Chapter 556: Chapter 160 Eight Heavenly Dragons_1

Hearing what Qin Shou said, the burly man furrowed his brows and slapped the Rabbit, laughing and scolding, "You know jack shit! That buddha’s light contains the power of three lifetimes. Once illuminated by the buddha’s light, one can see their experiences across three lifetimes. Having seen both the splendid floral displays and the grand rivers and mountains, the tender world and the iron-blooded battlefields, having experienced the complexities of life, understood both the sweet and the bitter, one gains more understanding. Then, who would still want to live in this godforsaken place?"

Qin Shou, with his eyes slanted, chuckled and nodded, "You make sense, props to you. Well then, I’ll be off if there’s nothing else!"

After speaking, Qin Shou attempted to leave again.

The burly man squinted and blocked Qin Shou’s path. He wasn’t a fool; it was clear that the Rabbit was saying one thing but meaning another. Verbal agreement was one thing, but his actual attitude was entirely different.

The burly man said, dissatisfied, "Rabbit, you don’t believe it?"

Qin Shou immediately replied, "I believe it!"

The burly man stared at Qin Shou, who widened his eyes, meeting the burly man’s gaze with his own pure, deceptive, and large eyes.

After a minute of staring, the burly man said very confidently, "You just don’t believe it!"

Qin Shou, in a whining tone, said, "Big brother, I really believe it. Can you let me go?"

The burly man shook his head, "I think you don’t believe it. Today, I must have a proper talk with you."

After speaking, he grabbed Qin Shou and brought him to the edge of a building, facing the enormous column of buddha’s light, and said, "Do you know where this light comes from?"

Qin Shou shook his head but then quickly realized that shaking his head would surely lead to explanation from the burly man, which would be endless, so he immediately nodded instead.

However, Qin Shou still underestimated the burly man’s persistence. He didn’t care whether Qin Shou nodded or shook his head, and without even looking at him, continued, "Do you know that in Hell there’s a Buddha Mountain?"

Qin Shou was stunned. When he first came to the Netherworld and was walking on the Road to the Netherworld, Black and White Impermanence had pointed out a mountain to him, saying it was a Buddha Mountain. He’d heard them but hadn’t paid much attention. Now, hearing what the burly man said, he grew suspicious. Could it be Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha’s doing that generated the buddha’s light?

Similarly, the burly man didn’t wait for a reaction from Qin Shou and just kept talking, "In Hell, above the Nether River, there once was a mountain filled with demonic energy called Blood Flame Mountain. This mountain was a volcano. Only instead of spewing out molten lava, it ejected torrents of blood because right beneath the mountain was a direct conduit to the Blood Sea. The blood from the Blood Sea flowed out, dying the entire mountain red, hence the name Blood Mountain.

Then Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha arrived and with Great Divine Power and Mana, he transformed Blood Mountain into a buddha’s light-bathing Buddha Mountain.

Moreover, he uses his buddha mana every month to cleanse the Blood Sea by channeling through Buddha Mountain, simultaneously purifying the Blood Sea and converting the Asuras within into buddha soldiers to protect Buddha Mountain.

The buddha’s light you see is cast by Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha. For those with kind hearts, this light can eliminate all illnesses, strengthen the body, nourish the soul, and prolong life. But for evil ones, it will lead them into the cycle of three lifetimes, to see through life and thus gain enlightenment and embark on a path of Buddhist practice."

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou suddenly asked, "What if someone after watching their three lifetimes doesn’t change?"

The burly man smiled lightly and pointed to the distant buddha’s light, "Look..."

In the light, an Asura could be heard screaming miserably, clutching his head. Then, within the buddha’s light, he turned into myriad points of light and disappeared...

Qin Shou asked, "He died?"

The burly man matter-of-factly said, "Stubborn as a mule, gone to ashes."

Qin Shou, somewhat annoyed, said, "Isn’t that a bit too much? If the Buddha is merciful, why not let him enter the cycle of reincarnation?"

The burly man shook his head, "Asuras have their own cycle of reincarnation. After reincarnation, they’re still Asuras. What’s the point of that cycle?"

Qin Shou said, "Then can’t Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha use his Great Divine Power to send him into regular reincarnation?"

The burly man sighed and said, "Just watch."

No sooner had he finished speaking when an angry scolding rang out, "Ksitigarbha, baldy, aren’t you done yet?"

As they spoke, a blood-red streamer surged through the Blood Sea, breaking the Nether River and charging straight into the ninth heaven!

In the sky, the Buddha light crumbled and dissolved in an instant under the impact of the blood-red streamer, which did not retreat but instead shot towards the firmament!

Qin Shou looked up and could vaguely make out a large mountain above the Nether River. The middle of the mountain was hollow, with Buddha light flickering on it... Clearly, that was Buddha Mountain.

The blood-red streamer charged directly into Buddha Mountain, and a chant echoed from within: "Amitabha!"

The next moment, a massive palm fell, colliding with the blood-red streamer. The Buddha’s palm shattered, and the blood-red streamer vanished into thin air...

"You bald donkey, if you bully my Asura Clan again, I will chop off your head and use it as a chamber pot!" The Nether River Patriarch’s voice resounded with tremendous dominance and anger.

However, from within the Buddha Mountain, only a faint chant returned: "Amitabha."

Qin Shou was perplexed. After all that was said, Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha just responded with that inexplicable chant. Was that an agreement, a rejection, or just muddling through, stirring things up for no reason?

But it seemed the Nether River Patriarch understood, as he snorted coldly and then fell silent.

The Buddha Mountain then drifted away...

Qin Shou looked towards the strong man, who was giving Qin Shou another look, and asked, "Want to hear a story?"

Qin Shou nodded.

The strong man asked, "Got any more booze?"

Qin Shou shook his head.

"Something else will do," the strong man said.

Qin Shou rummaged through his Black Demon Box and, with eyes lighting up, looked up and said with a smile, "Yes!"

The strong man smiled: "Bring it out, let’s drink and talk."

Qin Shou said, "Alright! But it’s one Divine Power per drink."

The strong man’s face immediately darkened, but he agreed nonetheless.

Meanwhile, atop the Buddha Mountain, a group of men and women gathered together, sitting on a high platform, quietly discussing something.

"It’s been so long since Mahoraga went off. Who knows how it’s going? Is it really that difficult to just gather some information?" A woman played with a sword in her hand, her face filled with impatience.

Sitting in the chief seat was a man in a green robe, with a golden mask obscuring his features. The mask bore no facial features or patterns, making it impossible to glean any information about its significance.

Opposite the man in green was an author with a dragon’s head and two horns. The dragon-headed man’s eyes were kind, but his face was rather fierce.

To the left of the dragon-headed man was the woman who had spoken, and to his right was a golden-armored man with wings on his back; next to the winged man was a bizarre centaur-like creature...

Sitting beside the man in green was a sinister figure with a green face and sharp fangs, clad in a black cloak.

This group sat around a large bonfire, with no sign of any food nearby.

At that moment, the man with the green face and sharp fangs said, "Xunxiang, you know Mahoraga is gluttonous and lazy. Assigning him to gather information, he’s probably out watching the fun or sleeping somewhere."

Xunxiang replied, "I said I should go, but you had to send him. Heaven, I’m not content with this decision!"
