Chapter 546: Chapter 155: Troublemaker Rabbit [Part Two] Third Update_2
Qin Shou stood on the stool, gazing at the beauty before him, his heart filled with a mournful howl, cursing himself for being a rabbit!
Then, Qin Shou silently recited in his heart, "My wife is Chang’e, my wife is Chang’e..."
Only then did he suppress the wicked thoughts brewing inside him.
Qin Shou said, "That’s true, it would be a waste to spill it, pouring the alcohol into a cup—we can still drink it later."
After finishing that thought, Qin Shou picked up a wine cup, poured a drink, placed it on the windowsill, and raised another cup high, saying, "Here’s to the ancestors!"
"Cheers! Hehe... This wine might taste like nothing and burn too much, but the feeling, it’s really nice," Hanyue spoke and turned towards the bed, then she simply sprawled out on it, forming a big character ’大’.
From his angle, Qin Shou could see a sight like overlapping mountains, and the fire that he had just managed to suppress surged up once again.
However, Qin Shou’s self-control was still commendable. He immediately recited the Chang’e Mantra to push down the heating thoughts again and forced himself to turn his head to look at the table, saying, "Of course, the thing with alcohol—it’s not about how good it tastes. It’s about getting drunk to relieve the gloom."
"Oh? What kind of relief is that?" Hanyue asked.
Qin Shou replied, "Alcohol emboldens the cowardly. The things one dares not to say or do, after drinking too much... ah, no matter how timid a person usually is, once they’re drunk, the whole world is theirs! Unpleasant feelings in the heart, just shout them out, speak them out, even fight them out, and then the entire person relaxes. Alcohol... one drink disperses a thousand worries!"
Finishing his sentiment, Qin Shou downed his drink.
However, Qin Shou didn’t hear Hanyue respond. When he turned to look, he saw that Hanyue at that moment was blurry-eyed with tears, the big character ’大’ posture she had adopted had now curled into a ball.
Her height, a little over one meter six, close to one meter seven, had somehow scrunched up into a small ball, like an egg, desperately using that fragile shell to protect herself.
Seeing this, Qin Shou was a bit stunned and thought to himself, "Can it be? Weren’t we talking about getting rowdy after getting drunk? Why is she crying now?"
Qin Shou moved closer and asked, "What’s wrong with you?"
This question seemed to have hit a nerve with Hanyue, as she lifted her head slightly, staring fiercely at Qin Shou, and said, "I... what’s wrong? Are you pitying me?"
From the depths of Hanyue’s eyes, Qin Shou saw a profound sadness and anger. He quickly said, "No, I was just curious."
Upon hearing that, Hanyue’s eyes softened somewhat, then she lowered her head and said, "I am an ill-omened person."
Qin Shou also hugged his legs, curling into a ball, lying opposite Hanyue, nodding his big head and said, "Me too."
Hanyue pursed her lips and disdainfully said, "You can’t compare to me."
"Let’s compare then," Qin Shou said nonchalantly.
Hanyue said, "I’m not a pureblood Asura."
Qin Shou nodded and replied, "I know."
Hanyue, puzzled, asked, "How do you know? I haven’t told anyone else about this."
Qin Shou logically said, "No need to ask, it shows in the appearance. Those Asuras are ugly like radish spirits, big and burly, with waists as wide as a barrel. How could they compare to you?"
Listening to Qin Shou describe those Asuras, Hanyue let out a snort of laughter, the sorrow inside of her easing slightly. With a dreamy look in her eyes, she continued, "Half of my blood is Asura, and the other half human. My dad was captured by my mom, and then they had me."
Initially thinking the plot was melodramatic, upon hearing this, Qin Shou was completely dumbfounded and quickly exclaimed, "Hold on! What did you say? Your mom captured your dad, and then they had you?"
Hanyue nodded and said, "Yes, my mom is a pureblood Asura, with formidable strength, the ruler of that stretch of the river. I inherited her title—is there a problem with that?"
Qin Shou curled his lip and shook his head, saying, "No, keep going."
Even though Qin Shou verbally dismissed it, he inwardly felt relieved that he was a rabbit; if he had been caught by Li Kui, the city princess, and taken away, merely the thought brought chills. He started to sympathize with Hanyue’s father...
Hanyue continued, "After I was born, it was my father who raised me. My mom was never home, always fighting outside. Moreover, we were always moving houses!
At first, both my father and I hated her for not coming home. Until one day, she came back dragging half of her body, took our hands, and told us she was done for, that she wouldn’t be able to protect us anymore. She told my dad to take me away from the Nether River, leave this place and live a peaceful life.
Only then did I realize, we were constantly moving because we were trying to get closer to the edge of the Nether River. She was always fighting because she was protecting us, killing anyone who covetously looked towards us, somewhere out of sight."
Hearing this, Qin Shou started to admire Hanyue’s mother somewhat.
Hanyue went on to say, "Later, she hid us and went out alone. We heard the cries of battle, saw the river water stained red with blood, but never again saw her return."
As she spoke, Hanyue’s tears couldn’t stop flowing. She cried while speaking, "Do you know? When she left, I even told her I hated her. She didn’t get angry; she just smiled at me and then left. Now I regret it, I fucking want to tell her, I love her!"
The last three words Hanyue nearly roared out while fiercely squeezing Qin Shou’s face as if venting the sorrow in her heart.
Qin Shou put up no resistance, allowing her to pinch his face into various shapes, and then asked, "Why? Didn’t you hate her?"
Hanyue cried even harder, "Only when I grew up did I realize how difficult it is for an Asura to break free from the shackles of fate. Even harder is it to take your family and leave the Nether River!
