Rabbit Must Die -
Chapter 440 - 53 Gang _1
Chapter 440: Chapter 53 Gang _1
Unless Emperor Shun really didn’t die! But is that possible?
On the road, the Yellow Dragon Taoist also spoke a lot about Emperor Shun. When Emperor Shun passed away, this old dragon kindly stopped Emperor Shun’s loyal minister Gaotao from burying him in a nearly inadequate tomb.
So he is one of the people involved; he said that Emperor Shun died, so he must really be dead.
But then, who is the person in the thatched hut under the dragon-shaped rock?
Qin Shou took out the bamboo stick that had released the Iron-eating Beast and said, "Stop pretending; this was given by you. This thing can protect me from harm by the great path runes array and even released Gungun. It must not be that simple."
Upon hearing this, the Huanglong Daoist quickly stopped, took the bamboo stick, and after looking at it for a while, said, "This... this seems to be genuine Lady Xiang Bamboo. However, there is no blood of Lady Xiang inside; it’s Chiyou’s blood instead..."
"See, you’re still denying it? If it wasn’t you, how would you know everything?" Qin Shou said.
The Huanglong Daoist shook his head and said, "Back then, I was also guided by a sagely figure who said that as long as I reside within Jiuyi Mountain, I would await the moment of upheaval. In the future, a rabbit would come holding Chiyou’s blood and release the Iron-eating Beast, and then the opportunity for change would arrive. Hence, the moment you appeared and dropped three drops of blood, I knew it was Chiyou’s blood. I just don’t know how you got hold of Chiyou’s blood..."
Qin Shou widened his eyes and said, "Are you really not that old man?"
The Huanglong Daoist gave Qin Shou a disdainful glance and said, "I merely impersonated Emperor Shun to tease Yao Bofu for a bit. As for you... I saw you enter the mountain. I didn’t stop you and even helped you by blocking some troubles. But I never met you."
Qin Shou’s face showed confusion as he asked, "Then... do you know Hua Zhongyao?"
The Huanglong Daoist was startled and said, "Hua Zhongyao? Emperor Shun’s name inverted?"
Qin Shou nodded, and with a wave of his hand, showed the image of Hua Zhongyao to the Huanglong Daoist through a water mirroring technique.
The Huanglong Daoist took in a sharp breath and said, "This... how is this possible? This is Emperor Shun!"
Qin Shou asked, "Is it really him?"
The Huanglong Daoist then shook his head and said, "Impossible. I watched him be buried; he is certainly dead! This must be false! Unless..."
At this point, cold sweat began to drip down the Huanglong Daoist’s forehead, his face turned extremely unsightly, and he became restless, spinning around in his original spot.
Qin Shou pressed, "Unless what?"
The Huanglong Daoist shook his head and said, "It cannot be said, it cannot be said. There are some things one can see but not speak of. If there is an opportunity in the future to go and see, then you’ll understand."
After speaking, the Huanglong Daoist seemed in a great hurry, with a rabbit gnawing on a chicken leg in front and a panda nibbling on bamboo in the back, hurrying along to the west.
Although Qin Shou was eating, he wasn’t mindlessly stuffing his face. He was also pondering over the recent events he had experienced.
Someone called Yao Sanqian had brought people to smash the gates of Heaven in the eastern, western, and northern regions, and was hunting down the Heavenly Gods scattered in the world. This seemed like an extreme action.
But Qin Shou smelled something else - the first outburst to prove that the Heavenly Court had shut its doors, indicating that Heavenly Gods could no longer descend.
This was showing off, grabbing attention, proving one’s existence to the world to attract interest.
Then smashing the heavenly gates and hunting down Heavenly Gods was all about creating momentum!
If Qin Shou remembered correctly, Yao Sanqian had always been working hard to rally various demons. Qin Shou had a bold idea - perhaps Yao Sanqian was raising the flag of the Demon Clan high, scheming for the skin of the Heavenly Court!
But, could a mere Yao Sanqian really shake the Heavenly Court? After all, the Heavenly Court had only closed its doors; no one knew what the state of the Heavenly Court was. What if there was no issue, and they had just forgotten to open the doors?
What if, when the wrath of the Heavenly Court rained down, a mere Yao Sanqian wouldn’t even be enough for the Jade Emperor to slap away?
Or could it be that Yao Sanqian knew something?
Or perhaps there was someone behind Yao Sanqian directing him?
Another matter was the issue with Jiuyi Mountain. Qin Shou always felt like Jiuyi Mountain’s affairs seemed to be controlled by a great hand orchestrating everything.
If Huanglong Daoist isn’t Hua Zhongyao, then who is Hua Zhongyao?
Emperor Shun?
Or the hidden hand behind the scenes?
Why would Hua Zhongyao give Chiyou’s blood to him?
And what about the "unspeakable" thing mentioned by Huanglong Daoist? What is it?
Qin Shou only felt his head was shrouded in fog, but he could vaguely glimpse a blurry image hiding behind it, though he couldn’t articulate precisely what it was.
In any case, following the great battle in the Heavenly Court, the entire world seemed to have become blurred... no longer as clear as before.
"Enough, I’m just a rabbit with the strength of Qi Refining God Transformation, at most capable of beating the trash of an Earthly Immortal. What am I worth in the face of such a major force? Why ponder so much?" Qin Shou shook his head and stopped wondering.
Huanglong Daoist, along with Qin Shou and others, casually found a mountain peak to land on, corrected their direction, and continued forward. All the way, Huanglong Daoist seemed to be itching to do something, constantly calculating, until they finally arrived at a place familiar to Qin Shou!
Deer Hunting Plain!
Looking at the ancient tombs, Qin Shou curiously asked, "Huang, what are you bringing us here for?"
Huanglong Daoist patted Gungun on the head and said, "Gungun, sniff around, do you smell your master’s scent here?"
Gungun sniffed the air and then nodded without hesitation.
Huanglong Daoist was immediately overjoyed and asked, "Where?"
Gungun raised its little paw, and both Huanglong Daoist’s and Qin Shou’s hearts lifted, after all, what Gungun pointed to was Chiyou, the War God!
The intention of Huanglong Daoist was to release Chiyou. As for deeper purposes, Qin Shou couldn’t figure it out.
Overthrow Heaven?
Stop kidding, when there was a leak before, it took a Saint to block it.
If you really overturned it, probably everyone would be smashed to death... Besides, do you really think Hongjun just sits around collecting rations without working?
Could it be to overthrow the Heavenly Court?
Today’s Heavenly Court is not the same as before, with the Yan Emperor and Huang Emperor seated there, and a group of Overlord-level experts idling around. If Chiyou rose now, he would most likely get beaten up and sealed again, certainly not causing the same tumultuous waves as before.
Qin Shou didn’t believe Huanglong Daoist couldn’t understand this, so what exactly was his purpose?
The closer to the goal, the more anxious Qin Shou’s heart became.
He stared intently at Gungun’s paw, and then Gungun’s paw landed on Qin Shou’s face, emitting a cat-like meow: "Meow meow!"
"Him?!"
"Me?!"
Qin Shou and Huanglong Daoist almost exclaimed at the same time, and then they saw Gungun jump into Qin Shou’s big basket and started licking him nonstop.
After being speechless for a while, Huanglong Daoist said, "It seems he has taken you for his master."
Qin Shou rubbed Gungun’s head and chuckled, "I knew it, we’re on the same side."
Still not giving up, Huanglong Daoist took out a ragged piece of fur and handed it to Gungun saying, "Sniff this, it’s your former master’s scent, help me find him, and I’ll set you free."
