Chapter 397 - 10 The World is in Chaos [Third Update]_1

The inside of Jindou Cave was incredibly spacious, with walls as clearly cut and angular as if hewn by axes and chisels. The decor was rough yet revealed a wild charm within its ruggedness.

When Wuyun General arrived at the central hall, he spoke to a man lounging on a cloud bed being served grapes by beautiful women, "Your Majesty, in accordance with your command, I scared off that rabbit. I reckon he won’t be coming back."

"Hmm... well done," responded the monarch, whose voice wasn’t harsh but carried an air of bold decisiveness.

"Your Majesty, it was just a rabbit..." Wuyun General couldn’t understand why his king, who could crush a Heavenly Immortal with a flick of his wrist, would be so concerned about a mere rabbit. When the Golden Immortal passed by, they merely sent out a plate of fruit without even showing their face. But for this rabbit, the king had specifically instructed him to go out and had prohibited him from injuring it... If they had a relationship, with their king’s generosity, he would have already invited the rabbit in to drink and feast merrily.

If it were an enemy, the general was confident that he didn’t even need the king to lift a finger; he could easily kill the rabbit with a single slap.

But the king neither offended the rabbit nor summoned it, which left him perplexed.

"You haven’t spent time in Heaven, you don’t understand... That rabbit, is just a fucking nuisance!" the king cursed, "Don’t ask anymore, just get on with your duties. Hmm... send someone to Pingding Mountain... never mind, let fate decide."

Qin Shou didn’t know that actually, the Earthly Immortal Realm wasn’t completely unaware of him; at least some people knew of him.

At this very moment, Qin Shou had only one thought in his mind: the Earthly Immortal Realm was too damn dangerous!

At the same time, Qin Shou was no longer recklessly making a spectacle of himself and chose to travel inconspicuously, steering clear of treacherous mountains and malignant waters, waiting to regroup with the Monkey and his troop before considering showing off again.

Qin Shou had tried to find the God of Land and Mountain Gods en route, but he couldn’t find a single one!

Logically, every mountain, every piece of land, should have its own Mountain God and God of Land. The fact that he couldn’t find any indicated that the situation was far more severe than he had imagined!

After passing through Wuji Country, Qin Shou entered a small mountain which clearly seemed devoid of resources and consequently, likely unoccupied by demons.

As soon as Qin Shou landed, he stomped his foot and called out, "God of Land, Mountain God, are you there?!"

Qin Shou’s question was mostly a formality as he hardly expected a response.

But beneath him, a puff of smoke rose, followed by a head poking out, "I sensed the aura of a Daynight Wandering God, has the gate of the Heavenly Court been opened? Is there hope for us?"

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou quickly turned around and said, "Not yet..."

Before he could finish, the head started to retract back.

Grateful, Qin Shou grabbed the other’s beard and yelled, "If you dare to shrink back in, I, Rabbit Master, will flip this mountain to catch you, skin you alive, stuff you with cordyceps, and stew you with mushrooms!"

"Let go, let go... Immortal, please release me and spare my life!" Whether the God of Land understood Qin Shou’s words or not, he was in tears from the pain of his beard being pulled.

Qin Shou didn’t care about those things. He really wanted to yank the God of Land out in one go, but his stature was too small. Even standing on tiptoes and trying to pull him up, he could only extract the part of the God of Land’s neck from the soil.

Unable to bear the pain, the honest God of Land crawled out on his own.

Looking up at the two-meter-tall God of Land, Qin Shou had black lines all over his forehead... He cleared his throat and said, "Old man, no more nonsense. You answer what I ask you. If you answer well, you can go back to where you came from, and when the Heavenly Court’s gates open, I’ll put in a good word for you. But if you don’t answer well, don’t blame me for being merciless. I’ll tear off those chin whiskers of yours, braid them into a rope, and hang you with it!"

The God of Land had only come out because he felt the aura of the Daynight Wandering God, never expecting to encounter such a ferocious creature. With a smile, he said, "Immortal, ask whatever you want. I will hold nothing back in my answers."

Qin Shou pointed upwards and said, "On my journey here, why is there fighting everywhere I go? And, I haven’t seen a single Mountain God or God of Land, what’s the deal with that?"

With a sorrowful expression, the God of Land said, "Immortal, you are unaware. Since the upheaval in the Heavenly Court over three hundred years ago that resulted in the closing of the heavenly gates, the Earthly Immortal Realm was peaceful for two hundred years. But in this past century, there have been rumors that the Heavenly Court has been destroyed, the immortals have all died, and that Heaven and Earth no longer have masters, hence things have gotten a bit chaotic here.

You also know, back when the Jade Emperor was around, he ruled with an iron fist. Anyone who did not adhere to the laws of the Heavenly Court would be wiped out by the heavenly soldiers and generals, leaving not even chickens and dogs alive!

At that time, there were very few wars in the Earthly Immortal Realm, and if there were, they were fought openly and cleanly.

Now, without the Heavenly Court’s suppression, the pent-up hatred over the years has exploded, resulting in incessant killing."

Just three years ago, a great demon named Yao Sanqian ascended Three Realms Mountain and proclaimed that the Heavenly Court had collapsed and the great mountain that loomed over all creatures was gone! All were liberated and free! Then, he killed a Heavenly God on the spot!

Some say that the Heavenly God truly died.

Others say he was resurrected on the Investiture of the Gods in the Heavenly Court, but who really knows?

But one thing is for sure, up to this day, Yao Sanqian is still alive and well, having killed eight Heavenly Gods with his own hands!

Moreover, Qin Shou could feel that the chaos in the Earthly Immortal Realm was clearly being fueled by this Yao Sanqian, deliberately stirring up the situation.
