Chapter 340: Chapter 337 Mid-Autumn Festival_1

Chongba yelled, "Damn rabbit, stop! Mutou, Zhenying, Kui Yi, Kui Er, Kui San, help me! The rabbit is killing me!"

When Qin Shou heard that, even Mutou and the three fools had come? Before he could regain his composure, he heard a thudding sound of large footsteps on the ground in the distance, followed by a commotion of people getting toppled over!

Three bald heads charged ahead, shouting, "Hold it! Leave us a leg!"

Upon hearing this, Chongba’s face instantly turned black, and he cursed, "Damn it! What kind of people do I know!"

Although the three fools recognized Chongba, in their hearts, the rabbit who dared to challenge the master, who dared to get spanked without getting the runs, was their idol. So when trouble arose, naturally they sided with Qin Shou...

Of course, Qin Shou hadn’t really stewed Chongba. After some commotion, when Qin Shou asked what was happening, it turned out these guys missed the rabbit and had come up to the moon to look for him. Not finding the rabbit, they saw the bustling atmosphere of Fenghua City, and one by one they followed the crowd to join in the excitement.

For these old classmates and good friends, Qin Shou naturally wouldn’t refuse them. Without hesitation, he conscripted these guys as workers to help him with his work.

As evening approached, Chang’e returned. Before she even touched down, she saw a rabbit riding a seahorse, waving a Fangtian Halberd, charging towards her. Then he stood with his halberd across the horse, commanding in a domineering tone, "Sister, get on the horse! I’ll take you to celebrate!"

Chang’e smiled with pursed lips and without refusal, sat on the small seahorse, saying, "Yu’er, this horse is too small."

Before Qin Shou could reply, the Seahorse Spirit let out a loud shout and suddenly grew much larger, surprisingly carrying both Qin Shou and Chang’e as they dashed away.

After leaving Fenghua City, Chang’e saw the red lanterns hanging all over the city wall and exclaimed in surprise, "Yu’er, did you do this?"

Qin Shou didn’t respond but looked up to the sky and said, "Silly girl, look up."

Chang’e followed his gaze upward. Qin Shou snapped his fingers, and the next moment... a breeze blew by, but there was not a stir in the sky.

Chang’e looked at Qin Shou skeptically and said, "Yu’er, have you drunk too much?"

Qin Shou looked up at the sky, his expression slightly off, but relying on his shamelessly thick-skinned face, he remained unruffled, looking upward and saying calmly, "Just wait a bit longer, it’s coming."

Inside, however, Qin Shou was cursing, "What the hell are these guys doing? Why is there still no movement?"

Just as Qin Shou was growing anxious and ready to curse, three blasts rang out, and then, from inside Fenghua City, one Kongming Lantern after another slowly ascended. The sky was full of Kongming Lanterns, like stars scattered across the sky, causing Chang’e to open her mouth wide in surprise and exclaim, "What is this?"

Qin Shou laughed and said, "Rabbit Lanterns! I invented these. How about it? Pretty, aren’t they?"

Chang’e had no idea these were Kongming Lanterns; she simply praised them for being beautiful and even lifted the rabbit to give it a kiss, exclaiming joyfully, "So beautiful! Yu’er, you are so clever!"

Qin Shou chuckled foolishly... thinking to himself, "Master Kongming, I did this for the girl; don’t blame me... Blaming me is useless anyway; we’re not in the same world anymore. Just pinch your nose and bear it, heh heh..."

A woman and a rabbit looked up at the sky, watching the Kongming Lanterns ascend higher and higher, until they disappeared into the sky.

Chang’e then added, with lingering admiration, "It’s truly beautiful."

Qin Shou chuckled and said, "These Kongming Lanterns were originally something mortals used to make wishes. When mortals encounter injustices, they write their wishes on the lanterns, and then release them, hoping that the immortals in Heaven would see and help them fulfill those wishes. Of course, these two worlds are separate, so these lanterns are destined never to reach the Immortal Realm... Nevertheless, they at least offer some hope to the mortals, and for that, they are incredibly meritorious."

Chang’e sighed, "Life is not easy; if I could help them, I would be willing to do so."

Qin Shou nodded along but didn’t really agree. How many immortals were there compared to the number of mortals?

There were so many in the Earthly Immortal Realm, perhaps uncountable... What’s more, immortals don’t consider humans to be superior; all creatures with spirit are seen as equals. If you think about it that way, there are simply too many creatures with spirit in the world... If the immortals were to help fulfill every single creature’s wish, they probably wouldn’t last long, not even a year before the immortals of Heavenly Court would collectively drop dead!

However, Qin Shou wouldn’t say such a mood-dampening thing; he just nodded in agreement.

Chang’e, holding on to Qin Shou, walked into Fenghua City; as soon as they entered, they saw those strange and huge lanterns, with various characters written on them.

Qin Shou explained, "Those are festive lanterns. The characters on them are riddles. Guess correctly, and you will be rewarded. Guess wrong, and naturally, there’s no reward. The rewards aren’t rare; it’s all just for fun..."

As soon as Chang’e heard this, she became very interested, pulled Qin Shou, and rushed inside. They were immediately greeted with some riddles. She looked at one and answered it right away. She cruised through the challenge, leaving the Sea Clan and land-based creatures without a leg to stand on!

In the end, Yibing, while holding on to Qin Shou, complained, "Damn rabbit, this won’t do. Big sis is too strong! The bros can’t handle it! If this keeps up, we’ll go bankrupt!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou raised his hand and slapped him, exclaiming, "You’re blaming us? Didn’t you see what kind of questions you were asking? ’What is 1+1?’ ’Do rabbits eat the grass by their burrows?’ ’Why don’t pigs get pregnant...’ Damn it, do you think we’re idiots? Don’t even know that 1+1 equals 2, that rabbits eat the grass by their burrows, or that male pigs don’t get pregnant?"

But Yibing stubbornly shouted, "Damn rabbit, you can’t say that. We tried our best. We sent these questions out for everyone to see, and only used them after nobody could answer."

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou was nearly driven to spitting blood in frustration and pointed at the lanterns, asking, "They couldn’t answer these?"

Yibing nodded, "Yeah!"

Qin Shou was speechless and ever more convinced that compulsory education needed to be promoted. Otherwise, the existence of these demons would be a disgrace to the moon!

Although Qin Shou had plenty of complaints, Chang’e was overjoyed from her grand victory, surrounded by sounds of respect and amazement.

Seeing how elated Chang’e was, Qin Shou said nothing more, only adding silently in his heart, "Next year! I must come up with the questions myself!"

After observing the Kongming Lanterns and guessing the lantern riddles, a group of demon clan children ran out into the middle of the street and built a pagoda out of tiles, anointed it with some oil, and set it ablaze. For a moment, the fire pagoda burned brightly, looking quite stunning.

Some merry demons clapped their hands rhythmically, creating beats. Then, others joined in with singing, playing instruments, and someone even brought out a large drum to pound on.

A group of demons, the ones looked down on by Qin Shou for not having attended school, came running out. They circled the bonfire, hopping and jumping around, and suddenly, it all had a certain charm to it.
