Chapter 122: Conclusion at the end of the volume
The public volume has ended, so let’s do a brief summary. Overall, it’s still okay.
The biggest problem was the Witch Demon wars. Actually, when I was writing this part of the plot, I had already prepared myself to be criticized.
One author friend had offered me some advice before, and another had given me the Primordial World materials he organized. Their suggestions were all about making the Human Clan the destined protagonist, with Nuwa achieving sainthood for creating humans, and The Three Pure Ones of the Three Religions indoctrinating the Human Clan to achieve sainthood. The Witch Demons had to make way for the Human Clan’s rise before they perished, with everything in the Primordial World revolving around the Human Clan. They advised that when writing about Witch Demons slaughtering humans, make the protagonist step in to rescue the Human Clan, and then harshly denounce Nuwa, so that readers would feel a deep resonance.
But after much thought, I still didn’t follow the traditional routes of Primordial World tales; I wanted to write my own. In my book, there’s no such thing as a fated protagonist. I’ve tried to rationalize the process of making the Human Clan the main focus and imbue Nuwa with humanity.
I had already set the groundworks back in Chapter 56, recognizing that it would be a controversial plotline. But perhaps due to my own writing and narrative skills, I still received a barrage of criticism. It shook me up so much that many readers left, and I barely managed to keep writing for several days. It wasn’t until Editor-in-Chief Beihe and Bacon, the beautiful lady, talked to me that I got over it.
I’ll try not to write such plots in the future. Let me give a preview of the next volume’s plot – how about organizing a small event, like the Primordial World Olympic Games at the Bird’s Nest? Disciples from all the Great Sects will participate, with the Saints serving as referees.
