Primordial World: Big shots are all my friends -
Chapter 121, Asura Clan
Chapter 121: Chapter 121, Asura Clan
Bai Jin stood quietly behind Lady Earth, sizing up Ming He. In the era when Saints hid themselves, Ming He was one of the strongest in Heaven and Earth.
Lady Earth, who was gentle, said, "Bai Jin, don’t be rude."
Bai Jin hastily bowed and said, "I pay respects to my Martial Uncle!"
"Hmm~" It was then Ming He noticed the little bird beside him and suddenly said, "I’ve seen you before at Nuwa Palace, you are a disciple of Tongtian, right? Rise."
"Thank you, Martial Uncle." Bai Jin got up.
Ming He asked with a puzzled look, "Why does my Fellow Daoist Houtu come to the Blood Sea from the Primordial Land?"
"It is the Father God who is summoning me."
Ming He’s complexion drastically changed, and he said in shock, "Could it be that the will of Pangu God still remains?"
Lady Earth shook her head and said, "Fellow Daoist, there’s no need for panic; the Father God merged with the Primordial World, and its will merges with that of Father God."
Ming He took a breath of relief; if Pangu God’s spiritual wisdom were still intact, that would indeed be too shocking.
Lady Earth asked, "Fellow Daoist, may I ask for your permission to act in the Blood Sea?"
Ming He frowned in silence, showing some hesitation.
Bai Jin opened his mouth but said nothing in the end; one must not be arrogant, neither as a person nor as a crane, for when the mighty speak, there is no place for others to interject.
A moment later, Ming He said, "As long as you do not harm the foundation of the Blood Sea, do as you wish."
"Many thanks to my Fellow Daoist!"
Lady Earth continued walking towards the Blood Sea, with Bai Jin silently following behind.
Moments later, the three arrived at the vast Blood Sea; the scent of blood rushed forth, and despite closing all the senses, the stench of the Blood Sea was hard for Bai Jin to bear, almost causing him to vomit.
The Blood Sea roared and countless figures rose from within: the men all with green faces, sharp teeth, and hideously bent, and the women all dressed in light veils with bare thighs, enchanting and seductive.
All the figures knelt above the Blood Sea, respectfully calling out, "We pay respects to the Sect Hierarch!" Their voices echoed across the Blood Sea.
Lady Earth said in surprise, "This is a completely new race!"
Ming He spoke indifferently, "The Blood Sea is located at the very bottom of the Primordial World. In recent times, countless lost souls have drifted here. In the Blood Sea, they have sunk; out of compassion, I merged them with the power of the Blood Sea to create a whole new race, named the Asura Clan. I founded the Asura Sect, and I am the Sect Hierarch."
Lady Earth exclaimed, "Creating a new race, Fellow Daoist Ming He is second only to Nuwa who became a Saint in the distant past."
Ming He modestly said, "I dare not compare myself to Nuwa. With the formation of the Asura Clan, merit from Heaven descended, and I have only become a Second Body Slashing Quasi-Saint; alas, I failed to comprehend my true self, which I deeply regret."
Bai Jin looked up at the Ming He Sect Hierarch, feeling that he was putting on airs.
Lady Earth said with a smile, "With your nature, Fellow Daoist, the enlightenment of your true heart to sever your ego is just a matter of time."
Ming He nodded with a smile, "Thank you for your auspicious words, Ancestor Witch."
"Father~ Father~" A crisp voice called out.
A little girl dressed in a magnificent robe rushed over the sea surface, and with a leap near the shore, she flung herself towards the Ming He Sect Hierarch.
The Ming He Sect Hierarch raised his hand and embraced her, and the little girl burst into a crisp, giggling laughter.
Lady Earth asked with curiosity, "Who is this?"
"She is the most perfect among all the Asuras I have created, the only one not corrupted by the Blood Sea, and she is also my daughter."
The Ming He Sect Hierarch patted the little girl’s back and said, "Luo Cha, come down and meet the Houtu Ancestor Witch."
The little girl jumped out of the Ming He Sect Master’s arms and, with a curtsy befitting her imitation, said: "Rashamon pays her respects to the Houtu Ancestor Witch."
Houtu nodded and said with a smile, "What a spiritually graceful little girl. You will surely have good fortune in the future."
Ming He took Rashamon by the hand and said, "Since you, Fellow Daoist Houtu, have been summoned by the will of the Primordial World, I will not interfere with your actions."
Houtu nodded and replied, "Thank you, Fellow Daoist."
Ming He walked towards the Blood Sea, leading Rashamon. Stepping onto the Blood Sea, Rashamon turned her head and cheekily stuck out her tongue at Bai Jin before her figure disappeared into the Blood Sea.
Countless Asura figures also submerged into the Blood Sea, leaving its surface as calm and smooth as a piece of Blood Jade.
At the bottom of the Blood Sea, Ming He led Rashamon slowly, asking, "Luo Cha, why were you laughing and playing with that boy just now?"
Rashamon, skipping and hopping, said innocently and cheerfully, "I felt he was so different! He’s not like my people at all; he looks very... um, very honest! Hee hee, and a bit good-looking too."
"He’s just putting on an act. Stay away from good-looking men from now on," Ming He said with irritation.
"Daddy, why?" she asked.
"There are too many deceivers in the Primordial World, and the better-looking the man, the more deceitful they are. I’m afraid you’ll be deceived."
"Oh! I understand. From now on, I’ll only play with people who are both ugly and honest."
"Ha ha~ What an obedient daughter."
...
On the sandy shores of the Blood Sea, Houtu sat cross-legged on the ground and said, "Bai Jin, protect me!"
"Yes!" Bai Jin replied respectfully, standing upright by her side.
Time passed slowly, one day, two days, nine days, half a month, three months.
Bai Jin stood straight beside Houtu, releasing immortal power to form a protective barrier to shelter her from the elements. He poured out his last bit of regard for her; after the reincarnation, Houtu would pass away. Ping Xin could replace her, but would that still be Houtu?
Bai Jin didn’t know, and felt a tinge of sadness. Although he hadn’t interacted much with Lady Earth, he had received much care from her.
...
In the Heavenly Court, within the fiery First Layer Heaven, a dark Longsword soared into the sky, its murderous intent piercing through the Thirty-Three Heavens.
From Pangu Hall, a Black Banner burst out, waving and whooshing, bringing chilling winds and howls, dark clouds rolling over and covering Heaven and Earth. All Primordial Immortals felt a chilling sensation in their Primordial Spirits.
Eleven Ancestor Witches rushed out from Pangu Hall.
Di Jiang, holding the Black Banner in his palm, laughed heartily and proclaimed, "The Demon Clan shall be eradicated!"
The other ten Ancestor Witches also displayed expressions of wild joy. They had finally waited for this day—to eradicate the Demon Clan, so that our Witch Clan could dominate Heaven and Earth alone.
...
Beside the Blood Sea, Houtu suddenly opened her eyes, filled with a look of forlorn loss, floated up, and turned her head to look back at the way she came. That was the Primordial Land, where she had eleven brothers and sisters, and countless clansmen who shared her passion and fervor.
Houtu murmured sadly, "Why me?"
"Niangniang~"
"If the Twelve Ancestor Witches are not complete, we cannot set up the Heavenly Divine Slaughter Formation. How then can my Witch Clan counter the Complete Heaven Star Battle Array of the Demon Clan? And how can my eleven brothers and sisters and the myriad clansmen survive the Demon Clan’s onslaught?"
"Niangniang, although I don’t understand what you’re saying, I feel that there is always a ray of hope in all things. If it really doesn’t work out, then we just won’t do it."
Houtu shook her head, looked up, and said, "This is Father God’s will. Hatred fills Heaven and Earth, and it’s the most appropriate time. But what should my Witch Clan do? Father God, is this your choice?"
Bai Jin sighed, torn between the needs of Heaven and Earth and the survival of his people. This was Houtu’s most agonizing moment—Houtu, who possessed a heart of Great Compassion, had only one path to tread.
