Chapter 139: God Slaying Poison! Elven Blood.
"That... that is the God-Slaying Poison!!!"
A familiar voice suddenly rang out across the battlefield. The voice was filled with shock... and even more than that... terror!!!
Although his vision was hazy, Kranos still recognized that voice. Kathryn? What is she doing here? Just as he was puzzled, he collapsed weakly to the ground. His bones felt as though they had melted.
Just as he fell to the ground, he felt a warm hand grip him. Kranos’s thoughts couldn’t process things as smoothly, but he felt that he saw hundreds of God Realm elves who were clad in white robes embroidered with silver patterns.
As Kranos fell unconscious, Kathryn’s expression changed from its emotional state to something more playful. She turned to the God Realm elves beside her, who numbered up to 200, and then said lightly:
"Capture the rebels."
"Yes, Your Highness!" At her words, the God Realm elves didn’t hesitate and immediately rushed out to capture all the elves that had attacked Kranos previously, including Farloc. Surprisingly... they didn’t even resist.
They allowed themselves to be captured peacefully, as though they had been controlled previously. Soon, the process was over. Kathryn turned to her brother, who was by her side, and flashed him a smile.
All the God Realm elves had left, so it was just her and Kevin remaining. She walked up to the volcano from which Kranos had tamed the flame, with Kevin following behind her.
"Sister, what are you planning? You even took a Heavenly Flame from the royal treasury just to give him. What if you lose him as a chess piece?"
At his words, Kathryn let out a melodious laugh. Then she began speaking.
"Human emotions are very fickle... You just have to let the flame burn in the right direction."
Pausing slightly, she continued, "As for what I’m planning, it isn’t much. Just watch how Kranos will slowly become my pawn. With everything I’ve given him, he should have developed feelings for me by now."
"In about two months, when he absorbs the Divine Soul Treasure, he will completely turn into my puppet and be mine. By then, even Raphael can’t save him—unless he wants his precious son to... die."
At her words, Kevin was exceedingly shocked, and he stared at Kathryn in horror. He felt that his sister was truly terrifying. Thankfully, she was on his side.
"Such a brilliant ploy that has lasted for more than two years. Sister, you are truly amazing!"
Kathryn smiled playfully once again. After that, both their figures vanished. She still had a lot to plan—after all, her plot for Kranos hadn’t been completed.
In the blink of an eye, after a few spatial jumps, they appeared in what seemed like a castle. Kranos was on Kathryn’s bed, and his face was extremely pale.
Kevin watched from the side with a frown.
"Sister, how are you going to heal him? You know you injected him with the God-Killing Poison, which can kill a god in a few days. And there is little to no treatment for the poison."
"I can use the Elven Blood," Kathryn replied with a smile. This had been her plan from the start—to use the Elven Blood to cure Kranos after he was weakened. She stared at Kranos, whose pale face was sleeping peacefully, and smiled.
She walked a few steps forward, then placed her cold palm on his face, running her hand across it. Wisps of mana flowed from her hands as she mouthed a few words.
After she did, her eyes glowed golden, and Kranos’s state was revealed to her.
"His physique is really strong... To think he still has almost four more hours to live."
She retracted her palm and then, muttering a few more words, vanished. She had to inform her father of Kranos’s importance and heal him before continuing with her plan.
Kevin, who was still standing a few feet away, was left to guard Kranos in case anything happened to him.
---
A few minutes later, Kathryn arrived. At this moment, a mysterious glowing liquid was in her hand. This was the Elven Blood, which could only be obtained from the Heart Elven Tree.
Despite the tree being ’damaged’, because of how much the king loved Kathryn, he didn’t think twice before giving her some of it—since she had told him Kranos was very valuable to her... maybe a little too valuable.
She smiled faintly, then bent down, slightly lifted Kranos’s head, parted his lips, and fed him the Elven Blood.
Soon, a warm liquid flowed through his mouth, and Kranos’s brows furrowed slightly. The Elven Blood was extremely miraculous, as it could cure all poisons below the Immortal Rank.
In the blink of an eye, Kranos’s complexion turned rosy. However, although he had been healed by the Elven Blood, he was still weakened. His meridians were still slightly crippled, and he could barely wield any strength.
"He will regain consciousness in a few hours," Kathryn said to her brother, sitting on the bed just beside Kranos.
"Sister, I still don’t get why you poisoned him with the God-Slaying Poison just to heal him a few hours later," Kevin’s confused voice sounded in Kathryn’s mind.
Fearing that Kranos might overhear them, he used this method to communicate with her. Kathryn glanced at Kranos, her hand running through his silver hair.
"What do you think will happen when someone who is extremely scared of death comes so close to dying?"
"And... what do you think will happen when he realizes how far I was willing to go just to heal him?" Kathryn’s playful voice resounded in Kevin’s mind. Kevin already had the answer...
---
While the two were plotting against Kranos, they would have never imagined that a figure who had survived over the years had finally... plotted something against them!
Desmond!
After realizing that he could fuse his soul and shadow element to remain alive, he had finally completed the process in just over a year and a few months.
Even though he hadn’t fully merged the elements, he could still move freely—and now, he could finally inform the Scarlet Moon Organization about Kathryn...
The Anomaly!!!
