Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten -
Chapter 372: Level 83, Testing New Abilities
[While handling affairs in the Imperial City, you casually stepped in to help a Demon Cult Maiden with her adoptive parent troubles. In doing so, you also uncovered internal parasites within the city and dealt with them.]
[From these events, your Spiritual Energy Level has increased by 2.]
[Your Spiritual Energy Control Level has advanced from Level 2 to Level 3.]
[At Level 3, spiritual energy control not only lets you manipulate objects, but now allows for repulsion-based attacks. The range and speed of your control have also increased.]
[Your current attributes are:]
[Spiritual Energy Level: 83] [Nascent Soul Stage]
[Spiritual Control: Level 3] [Enhanced manipulation with repulsion capabilities; walk on water across rivers]
[Spirit-Gathering Body: Level 1] [Lifespan limit extends past 200 years, gains slow regeneration from injuries. Fatal wounds downgrade to severe injuries; severe injuries downgrade to minor—cannot downgrade repeatedly. Physical strength doubled.]
[Heaven and Earth Resonance: Level 2] [All crafted items are at least Epic grade, no side effects, zero crafting time, and material costs halved.]
[Affinity with All Things: Level 3] [Your elemental affinity has reached a legendary level, far surpassing prodigy status.]As Lin Zhengran returned to the company, he heard the system's voice pop up again.
He had somehow leveled up twice, and even unlocked a new ability.
Even though most of the time in this world he didn’t actually need to use his powers, the human instinct to test new things couldn't be denied.
He turned to Jiang Jingshi and said, “Jingshi, you head back and keep working. I need to step out for a bit.”
Jiang Jingshi looked curious. “Step out? Where to? Want me to come with you?”
“No need, I’ll be back soon. Once Wenwen gets back, have her make me a cup of tea in the office. I want to ask how her secretary lessons went today.”
Jiang Jingshi nodded, half understanding, as Lin Zhengran turned and left. She had no idea where he was going or what for.
After he left, she fell into thought. Since she’d known him, he hadn’t done this often, but now and then, Zheng Zheng would just disappear to be alone somewhere, clearly not liking to be disturbed.
She had no idea what he did during those times. But she figured everyone had their little habits. Hers was cooking—maybe Zheng Zheng’s was just needing some quiet time alone once in a while?
That made sense. As the head of a company, he had to deal with so much every day. Even if Zheng Zheng could handle it all effortlessly, there had to be pressure. She really should try to show him more care and help ease that burden.
Help him unwind more often.
At that thought, she instinctively pressed her lips together. The lingering warmth from earlier still seemed to stay on her lips.
Her gaze softened.
This week was already wrapping up, and next week’s draw would start again.
When it was her turn, she’d make sure to take extra care of Zheng Zheng, let him vent all that pressure onto her.
So he could sleep peacefully afterward.
Turning to Pan Lin, Jiang Jingshi said, “Pan Lin, President Lin already went through some of the documents this morning. There aren’t many left. Move the rest to my office so he can relax this afternoon.”
Pan Lin nodded. “Got it, I’ll take care of it now.”
The two headed back to the office while Lin Zhengran made his way to one of Zhengshi Company’s unused warehouses.
He knew every part of the company inside out.
This particular warehouse had been specially prepared by him. It was large and normally unused—officially listed as a backup storage area.
In reality, Lin Zhengran had filled it with random items of various sizes—just so he could test out skills when leveling up.
Once inside, he locked the door behind him and turned on the lights.
The room was cluttered with everything from desks and sofas to stools, filing cabinets, and cups—lined up against the walls.
“So Level 3 spiritual control boosts speed, range, and strength… and adds repulsion?”
He looked at a cup on the ground. His previous control could easily move such items, but the speed had been limited.
Now, with just a gesture and a surge of spiritual energy, the cup flew straight into his hand at lightning speed.
At least four or five times faster than before.
“Whoa, that’s fast.”
He set the cup aside with a wave and looked at a solid wooden sofa—probably weighed dozens of kilos.
Before, it would've been impossible to move something that heavy. But now, with a lift of his hand and a channeling of energy, the sofa began to tremble… then slowly lifted off the ground.
It floated easily under his control as he shifted it mid-air.
“Definitely stronger. Now let’s find the limit...”
He didn’t stop there. One after another, he started levitating other items in the warehouse.
When nearly 80% of the objects were suspended mid-air, he felt the limit kick in.
Around a ton in total.
“Not bad at all. Way stronger than before. Speed and strength, done. Now for range…”
He opened the warehouse door and looked out toward an object 200 meters away. He made it float, then tried 300 meters... then 400...
The final range limit came out to 500 meters.
That was more than a full track field plus a quarter.
He was pretty satisfied with that.
Returning inside, he moved on to testing the repulsion ability.
He lifted the cup again with a thought, then gently clenched his palm.
Instantly, as if crushed by invisible forces from all sides, the cup warped and shattered.
It was compressed into a tight, glassy orb.
With a flick of his wrist, the orb shot across the room like a bullet and exploded into fragments against the warehouse wall.
He was amazed.
Then he turned to the sofa. With a sharp creaking of wood, the dozens-of-kilos sofa was visibly squeezed inward.
It collapsed into a pile of shattered wooden bits.
Ten minutes later, Lin Zhengran stepped out of the warehouse, having fully tested the repulsion ability.
He spotted a warehouse staffer. The man quickly greeted him, “President Lin!”
Lin Zhengran smiled. “Hi there. I just had someone destroy all the stuff in the far-right warehouse. Have someone clean it out and toss everything. Then restock it with some new junk. Lock it up after.”
The worker didn’t ask questions and nodded. “Got it, President Lin. I’ll call someone right away.”
As Lin Zhengran walked off, the employee headed over to the warehouse… and was stunned.
“What the h*ll happened here? Did someone go wild in here or what? Everything's trashed...”
He picked up a broken piece of wood. The place was littered with similar fragments. Not a single intact object remained.
