Pokémon Court
Chapter 588 2nd Top-tier Technique

Since it’s said that Totem Aura can also be a manifestation of sunlight, and that it can be granted to a Pokémon’s body, greatly boosting their strength and allowing them to utilize it, then…

Could Totem Aura also be used to recover stamina?

Ultimately, the essence of the Totem Aura is light, and if the essence of its formation is sunlight, then that would mean a Pokémon possessing the Totem Aura is enveloped in a huge energy cloak whose essence is solar energy.

Suppose that, once Beautifly has Totem Aura, even though it can’t directly convert external solar energy into stamina like Grass-type Pokémon, the Totem Aura is a form of energy that the Pokémon itself can fully control, so, could Beautifly possibly make use of it?

If it can be used in reverse, guiding the essence of the Totem Aura outward, then this technique of Beautifly’s still remains feasible.

That way, Beautifly could make highly efficient use of solar energy and combine it with the move Morning Sun to recover stamina.

Although this differs somewhat from the technique’s initial concept, the result achieved would be the same, and the ultimate goal of the technique remains unchanged.

Terrance imagined that, if Beautifly could master this technique, then its top-tier air current technique could be brought into full play. One could say that if this technique were mastered, it could completely offset the major burden that the top-tier air current technique places on Beautifly.

From that perspective, saying this technique is on par with Beautifly’s top-tier air current technique wouldn’t be an exaggeration, and it could truly be considered another top-tier recovery technique.

A Beautifly that has mastered both techniques could utilize them in a way where one plus one is greater than two. By that point, Beautifly might even have the potential to reach the Elite Four level.

“The premise is that Totem Aura can be used in reverse…”

Terrance planned to grant Totem Aura to Beautifly after doing so for Altaria.

Then, Beautifly would also become Terrance’s third Pokémon to possess a Totem Aura.

As for Beautifly’s Totem Aura, Terrance had to base it on absorbing sunlight. If Arcanine’s and Altaria’s Totem Auras could have light of a different nature as their essence, then for Beautifly, if Terrance wants to proceed with his second devised technique, then the aura cloak must be based on sunlight in order to coordinate with the Morning Sun move.

Even amid his excitement, Terrance hadn’t forgotten what his real job at the moment was.

For the work of absorbing sunlight energy, he would need to rely on certain instruments, and before that, he needed to use a Sparkling Stone to create a conversion device.

To convert “light” into “aura,” the material Sparkling Stone must be used.

This mysterious stone had piqued Terrance’s curiosity for a long time. Not only could it serve as a medium for humans and Pokémon to perform Z-Moves, it could also act as a medium for energy conversion between light and aura. Just what is the origin of this stone?

Could it be related to the ancient Ultra Beast Necrozma, of which there are extremely few records?

It was only after the guardian deity Tapu Koko modified his Sparkling Stone-material Mega Ring that Terrance took notice of this miraculous stone.

In Terrance’s research notes, the three legendary Ultra Beasts have a close connection with the four guardian deities, and the earliest known source of Sparkling Stone is from the hands of the guardian deities themselves. This inevitably raised suspicions. After further research, just as Terrance had suspected, the Sparkling Stone indeed plays an extremely important role as a medium.

For this reason, Terrance spent more than two full months working on the Sparkling Stone.

Terrance really wanted to obtain the method of crafting a Z-Ring from the Island Kahuna. That would undoubtedly have greatly aided his research. However, Terrance also knew that this path was fundamentally unfeasible, so he could only use his own Mega Ring as a prototype and research material to analyze the Sparkling Stone.

In this process, Terrance tried nearly a hundred methods, combining various techniques and energy conversion formulas, consulted countless books, and ultimately completed his research on converting light into radiant energy based on several obscure theories.

Terrance was certain that the value of his conversion device far surpassed the research achievements of that female Professor with the Senior Breeder title, who developed the “Electirizer” and “Magmarizer.”

That Professor had obtained the Senior Breeder title and formal recognition as a Professor just by creating a method for making the Electirizer. Terrance did not believe that his own research result, the Totem Aura conversion device, was in any way inferior.

While the “Electirizer” and “Magmarizer” successfully gave two types of Pokémon new evolutionary paths, the “Totem Aura conversion device” could be effective on all Pokémon.

On that point alone, its value far surpasses that of the Electirizer or Magmarizer.

Master Victor certainly had his reasons for recognizing the value of the Totem Aura. He gave Terrance his incomplete research materials and plans with two intentions in mind.

First, he hoped Terrance could use the research results to break into a higher research field. Second, he aimed to hone Terrance’s research and investigative skills.

However, what Master Victor hadn’t expected was that Terrance would complete the initial research in such a short time. If Terrance had taken several years to reach results, Master Victor wouldn’t have been the least bit surprised.

Because when it comes to research, a large amount of time isn’t necessarily essential.

The accumulation of time is only one of the conditions for success in research.

If there is no completely precise direction, research must go through hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of failed experiments to continuously absorb lessons and uncover the truth. However, with an occasional flash of inspiration or a stroke of luck, it’s also possible to achieve results in a short period of time.

Terrance’s research journey is a typical example of this kind of situation.

In the period that followed, Terrance devoted himself to the process of granting Totem Aura to Altaria.

Gathering sunlight and converting it into radiant energy takes a certain amount of time. That’s why Terrance was hurrying to prepare before the final battle segment arrived. As things currently stand, the Trainer that Terrance would ultimately be facing might be…

Top Trainer Leo.

Albus, or Fujiki.

Fujiki wasn’t too concerning, but when it came to the other two, Terrance really wasn’t confident about winning.

One was a former Elite Four member, and the other was someone who possessed Aura power, and capable of commanding a Lucario whose strength was not inferior to Mega Altaria, as well as a Darkrai that was even stronger…

Even with Terrance’s usual optimism, he couldn’t bring himself to believe that he was stronger than them. So, as much as possible, Terrance had to seize the time to increase his strength. This festival wasn’t just something the Contest Committee placed importance on, Terrance did as well.

Because his performance would directly affect the future prospects of the Fallarbor Gym, as well as his own personal value.
