Pokémon Court
Chapter 586: Winning! Flying to Mossdeep City

With the four fundamental illusion skills—Flash, Darkness, Chaos, and Hypnosis—as core, Mismagius had already fully demonstrated everything it had learned, except for incorporating the newly acquired illusion skill into the complex illusions it created.

This included its use of the fear energy it had digested for nearly half a year. Through mental feedback, Mismagius successfully allowed other Pokémon to personally experience the fear it had condensed over several years. With all of this combined, not a single Pokémon could last more than three seconds against Mismagius.

Wherever it went, as soon as its incantations were uttered, Pokémon would collapse.

This effortless dominance made many Trainers and Coordinators envious. A Pokémon this impressive, where could one even go to capture one?

After top contenders like Morty and Fantina, as well as some top Coordinators and outstanding Trainers were eliminated, the event had, in truth, already lost its meaning.

Because everyone knew, the winner of this event was bound to be Terrance!

And indeed, that’s exactly what happened… As one Ghost-type Pokémon after another fell in the amusement park, and Mismagius swept through the entire area, no one could surpass the score it had accumulated.

“So easy,” Terrance said, watching Mismagius’s performance. He was both surprised and relieved.

Albus and Fujiki had simply handed over such a treasure trove to him.

The transformation in Mismagius’s power was truly a source of both shock and delight for Terrance.

“Mr. Terrance, that’s… it? You’ve won?” Sharan gulped as she pointed at Mismagius’s proud, aloof figure.

“Looks like it,” Terrance nodded. At that moment, the way the people around looked at Terrance had completely changed.

If it was Beautifly’s win that brought Terrance considerable attention before, now with Mismagius’s performance, some had begun to feel wary and intimidated.

Especially because Terrance was competing as a Coordinator, many Trainers began to worry. If they ended up winning an event themselves and advanced to the battle segment, could they defeat Terrance’s Mismagius?

Most had no confidence. Mismagius’s illusion skills were quite bizarre. Just watching it attack others was enough to instill fear. They couldn’t even imagine how they would face such a Mismagius, how to counter its intangible, illusory domain.

Especially since, at that time, Mismagius could even incorporate offensive moves to assist its illusions, making its true combat strength even more unfathomable.

“Things just got interesting…”

The three Trainers who had already advanced—Leo, Albus, and Fujiki—gazed at the screen displaying this event’s winner, Mismagius, with thoughtful expressions.

If it were them, how would they deal with this Mismagius?

If they were to face Terrance, how would they counter Mismagius’s illusion skills?!

But after just a brief moment of thought, the three of them no longer felt any anxiety.

Although Terrance’s Mismagius was powerful, it hadn’t reached a level that made them despair.

At the very least, since Mismagius’s overall attributes hadn’t yet broken into a higher tier, Leo, who once used to be an Elite Four, wasn’t concerned.

As for Albus, he possessed Aura, which allowed him to communicate with Pokémon. Against him, Mismagius’s illusion skills would barely be one-tenth as effective.

Even Fujiki, who specialized in psychic power and had a powerful Ninetales not inferior in strength, wouldn’t be so easy to defeat either.

“Another Coordinator… has won twice now…”

Up to this point, there were two Coordinators who had advanced, while there were three Trainers.

On the surface, it looked like the Coordinators were at a disadvantage.

However, in terms of the number of event victories, the two sides weren’t far apart.

Moreover, many people were aware that the most important segment was actually the battles that come after the entertainment events.

Aside from Wallace, the Contest Master, Terrance was the only Coordinator to have advanced, and the number of victories he had achieved was no less than anyone else’s!

“Will Terrance become the second-best Coordinator after Master Wallace?”

Right now, this topic was being widely discussed. Terrance’s performance in the Ghost-type event was even more dominant and imposing than in the Flying-type event!

And that domineering performance was exactly what Wallace had displayed during the events he participated in!

Now, as a Top Coordinator, Terrance had displayed it too!

….

…..

“Next up are the Normal-type and Dragon-type events…”

After the event concluded, Terrance had Sharan block the media from interviewing him.

Before achieving the final victory, he didn’t want to accept any interviews.

Besides Terrance, the other qualified contestants did the same; after all, the media could be quite unscrupulous, they could ruin a person with excessive praise if not careful, making it difficult to know whether to answer questions or not…

“As for the Normal-type event, no matter what the content is, Castform should be able to handle it.”

Terrance’s Castform was fairly versatile. Even Terrance himself couldn’t think of any particularly tricky challenges that could appear in a Normal-type event.

As for the Dragon-type event, Terrance was even more determined to win that one. His Altaria’s growth… was even more comprehensive!

“Wallace and Leo probably won’t participate in these two events, right?” Terrance thought for a moment, wondering if these two master-level Contestants, one specializing in Water-types and the other in Electric-types, might suddenly show up and hinder him.

That very evening, Terrance set out overnight for Mossdeep City.

After the Ghost-type event, the next ongoing ones were the Bug-type and Grass-type events.

Neither of these types had anything to do with Terrance, so he planned to use this time, specifically, the period before the Dragon-type and Normal-type events to complete the granting of totem aura onto Altaria!

Mossdeep City was also an island city, located at a moderate distance from Sootopolis City.

So, to save time, Terrance simply had Altaria fly him over.

Mossdeep City was the ancestral home of the Stone family. Although Devon Corporation was currently based in Rustboro City, many of its businesses were also spread throughout this area.

The Mossdeep Space Center was a research base in the Hoenn region dedicated to the study of space and the cosmos.

This facility was also funded by Devon, and the area around the space center was equipped with all kinds of advanced research equipment. It could be said that this place was one of the Hoenn region’s top research hubs, on par with the Weather Institute.

The granting of totem aura didn’t require overly specialized or high-end equipment. Terrance had been able to do it at the Aether Foundation, so it shouldn’t be a problem here either.

By borrowing equipment and a laboratory, Terrance explained his purpose briefly through Master Victor, who easily arranged everything for him.

Just by relying on his status as a Gym Leader, it wouldn’t have been easy for Terrance to borrow a laboratory.

But for someone like Master Victor, a top-tier master with a vast network, it was just a matter of a few words.

Although Devon had a laboratory here, Terrance didn’t want to trouble Steven again.

Since Master Victor was already fully familiar with Terrance’s research into totem aura, asking him for help could avoid a lot of unnecessary complications.

Upon arriving in Mossdeep City, Terrance immediately headed for his destination.
