Chapter 241: Chapter 33 I’m Fine [Seeking Monthly Ticket!]"_1

The Dragon Race’s Mural was born in ancient times, obscure and difficult to understand, with complex scenes. The three of them had looked at many along the way, but could only make out a rough outline of the life of the Black Dragon, while the rest of the numerous plots remained undeciphered. So, as they moved further along, their observations became more hasty and cursory.

In the meantime, Chu Liang was distracted by another task.

He immersed part of his Divine Sense into the space within the White Pagoda, preparing to refine the nearly one hundred Blood Bat Dragons he had just harvested. Given the current volatile situation, if he could extract some useful items, any additional aid would be beneficial.

After advancing to the Golden Core Realm, his Divine Sense was strong enough to multitask, walking along without any change in demeanour while refining imprints in the White Pagoda.

However, he had previously preferred to do his refining in a peaceful and tranquil environment, and he found it a bit strange to reward himself while walking.

Within the space of the White Pagoda, the imprints of the Blood Bat Dragons were neatly lined up in a cage, waiting for him to open them. Time was pressing, and Chu Liang approached without any hesitation.

Refine!

Boom——

A long-awaited flash of light passed by, and a white radiance floated in front of Chu Liang.

It was a reddish-gold rhombus-shaped ice crystal object, and there seemed to be flames flickering within the crystal.

[Dragon Blood Crystal]: A concentrated essence of Dragon Blood. Melting this object into your bloodstream can greatly stimulate vitality, increase blood regeneration speed, and augment Bloodthirsty War Intent, lasting for a quarter of an hour, with effects not being cumulative.

Having sensed the thoughts in his mind, Chu Liang roughly understood the use of this object.

It was not complicated. During a battle, if one of these was melted into the bloodstream, it could significantly boost all-round abilities. There were a few such potent drugs available in the Immortal Cultivation World that could aid warriors during combat, proving to be highly effective. The fight between masters was often a close call.

Stimulating vitality meant increasing True Qi and strength, allowing oneself to burst out with more formidable output; increasing blood regeneration speed implied increasing healing ability, if there were injuries, recovery would be quicker; increasing Bloodthirsty War Intent, this was somewhat abstract... presumably it was a boost on a psychological level.

Only by trying it could Chu Liang know the actual effects, but anything that could enhance battle strength was good.

Chu Liang set about opening all the imprints along the way.

Consequently, his reward time was exceptionally long. He had to repeat the process over a hundred times, and his arm was only starting to feel sore when he finally finished.

After accumulating a large pile of Dragon Blood Crystals, Chu Liang wanted to melt one first to test its effect. Although there was no battle at present, a simple enhancement effect didn’t matter... and he had a surplus, so he didn’t mind wasting one.

Only by knowing its effects could he use it better.

He retracted his Divine Sense, took out a Dragon Blood Crystal, and it immediately melted into his bloodstream with a roll of True Qi.

Boom——

The effect was even more intense than he had anticipated.

His bloodstream instantly boiled as if a bomb had been dropped into it, creating a tempest of heat that seemed to engulf his body, flowing from the top of his head to the bottom of his heart, as if he was covered in an invisible swirling fire.

"Phew..." Chu Liang exhaled a burst of hot air.

The drug was potent.

He felt an uncontrollable surge of war intent in his heart, an inconceivable power buried within his body, frustration pulling at his heartstrings. He wished a demon or evil spirit would suddenly appear in front of him, so he could punch and kill it!

But he had clarity of mind and was aware that this change was brought by the Dragon Blood Crystal. He could not let this heatwave cloud his judgement. Therefore, he operated his True Qi slowly to suppress it, hoping to return to normal.

Just at this moment, Monk Pu Shan, who was by his side, sensed something amiss and asked apprehensively, "What’s wrong with you?"

"I am fine!" Chu Liang answered emphatically.

Monk Pu Shan: "?"

...

"There was a small issue with the operation of my True Qi, a brief adjustment and I’ll be fine."

Chu Liang added before promptly sitting cross-legged on the spot to adjust his breathing slightly and slowly suppress his restlessness.

Although Monk Pu Shan and Luo Yao found him peculiar, they had gotten used to his eccentricities over time.

When a person behaves strangely often enough, his strangeness becomes the norm.

As Chu Liang was adjusting his breath, he noticed a movement in the space within the White Pagoda.

The Golden Cocoon that the silkworm babies had spun earlier had started shaking restlessly, buzzing as if it was about to emerge.

Chu Liang grumbled, "The Beheading Red Famous Sword could vibrate inside there, you could vibrate in there, is it that you all don’t want me to have peace?"

Since he couldn’t help with this, he decided to ignore it, allowing the silkworm babies to emerge from their cocoon in the White Pagoda on their own.

A short while later, he got up, his gaze returning to calm, "I’m sorry for the delay, let’s move on."

The three of them continued to move forward.

Passing through this massive corridor, the murals eventually came to an end, and a broad platform appeared up ahead. Skulls of all kinds hung around the foremost part of the platform. Time and age had wearied them, their spirituality long lost. However, one could still tell that while alive, they had all been formidable Demon Beasts.

This was it. This must be Black Dragon’s trophies.

Among these displayed skulls, there was a path leading onward tucked in between, except the pathway was incredibly narrow.

Moreover, a corpse was hanging right in front of the pathway.

Unlike the other trophies, this body was clothed in ancient robes, which had not rotted away despite the extensive passage of time; a testament to the excellent quality of the material. The body had a dragon’s head but a humanoid form, its whole exterior covered in blue scales. Around its neck hung a strand of golden rope, revealing a self-inflicted death by hanging!

After countless years had passed, even bodies once so powerful were now depleted of all spirituality. However, this body showed no signs of decay. It seemed almost alive when you looked at it.

It’s unavoidably eerie.

Luo Yao said, "Its immortal and undecaying physical body may have been refined with Soul Cultivation techniques. We should be careful".

Monk Pu Shan stated, "This body, with a dragon’s head and a human’s body, seems to be from the legendary Ji Meng Tribe."

Chu Liang said, "The clothing on the body has not decayed in thousands of years. It must be quite valuable..."

The three of them murmured to themselves. Then, Luo Yao and Monk Pu Shan both looked towards Chu Liang, to which Chu Liang quickly added, "I just made a casual remark, let’s move this discussion forward".

Luo Yao said without further ado, "Based on the timeline of the murals, it’s been many years since the fall of the Black Dragon. Yet, this body remains perfectly preserved. Not even a great power can accomplish that. The only explanation is that it must have used a unique Soul Cultivation method before death. Its living soul remains in this same space, ensuring that its physical body remains immortal."

"The living soul still here..." Chu Liang furrowed his brow.

Could there be another entity within this empty, icy palace aside from them? Was there a pair of eyes somewhere, continuously observing the three of them?

The thought caused a chill to creep along his spine.

Luo Yao looked at Monk Pu Shan again: "What do you think the identity of this person is?"

Monk Pu Shan responded, "During the prime time of the Dragon Race, the Dragonkin was all-encompassing, which naturally included those who mingled with the Human Clan. Among them, the primary Dragonkin with Dragon and Human mixed blood had human bodies but dragon’s heads. They were the most intelligent branch among the Dragonkin, making significant contributions to the Dragon Race. In recognition, the Dragon God granted them a name, ’Ji Meng’."

"During those times, Real Dragons would recruit Dragonkin as their attendants, which was considered to be a great honor for the Dragonkin. The Ji Meng tribe was the most preferred Dragon Attendants, often accompanying each Real Dragon’s throne."

Looking at the corpse before him, he said, "This is, beyond any doubt, a pure-blooded member of the Ji Meng Tribe, most likely a Dragon Attendant of Black Dragon."

"I see..." Chu Liang nodded his head, then continued, "But we’ve already come this far, there’s no turning back. Even if there is a Ji Meng spirit guarding here, we have to move on."

"Yes." Luo Yao agreed with him, "We need to act according to circumstances."

Having said that, the three of them respectfully nodded towards the Dragon Attendant’s corpse, sidestepped around it, and stepped into the narrow passageway.

There were no murals lining this section, only smooth and warm black jade walls. Because the passage was so narrow, the three of them had to line up. Chu Liang led the way, Luo Yao was in the middle, followed by Monk Pu Shan bringing up the rear.

They moved along in a "niao" formation.

The silence within the tunnel was absolute, not a whisper of wind, only the rhythmic thudding of their footsteps resounding through the silence.

There was no anomaly of any sort.

The passage was incredibly long. They’d walked for a long time, long enough for Chu Liang to wonder if they’d reach the top in time to see Shu Mountain.

Yet all three of them remained patient.

Calm and patience were important qualities, especially in perilous situations.

Suddenly!

Chu Liang noticed something wrong.

The walls on both sides were like black jade, resembling a blurry mirror reflecting the blurry shadows of the three of them...although they were just three indistinct shadows, he could clearly count them.

But a moment ago, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted four shadows on his right wall.

He felt his heart skip a beat.

He had no idea how long this shadow had been trailing them silently. Their Divine Senses were fully extended, and yet, they had not noticed anything, which speaks volumes about how strange this shadow was.

Divine Sense could not detect its existence. It could only be seen with the naked eye. Chu Liang did not want to alarm it by suddenly looking back. So, he quickly glanced at his left wall and quickly counted the shadows.

There were only three shadows reflected.

Huh?

What was happening?
