Chapter 23: Chapter 22: Have Some Fun

(Another weekend is here; Old Evil wishes everyone a happy weekend and also begs for your favors, recommendations, and other supports!)————————In the afternoon, there was a moral education class, which, like the one with Ma Zhengjing, was considered boring and even pointless in Xiao Yi’s eyes.

However, Xiao Yi still arrived at the classroom on time.

As soon as he entered, he saw Fatty Tang standing up and waving at him enthusiastically.

But while noticing Fatty Tang’s enthusiasm, he also felt four pairs of cold eyes from another corner, especially one pair bristling with resentment.

Needless to say, these were the eyes of Gao Junjie and his three buddies. Clearly, their stance indicated they really didn’t want to get along with him. However, for Xiao Yi, it didn’t really matter; they hadn’t been friendly before anyway. Xiao Yi didn’t like to provoke trouble. Generally, he would avoid it as much as possible, but when trouble did come his way, he was never afraid to handle it.

He didn’t think these so-called "young masters" could do anything to him.

With a faint smile, Xiao Yi walked towards Fatty Tang, who was sitting in the same corner seat in the last row as in the morning, a position he quite liked. Xiao Yi wasn’t surprised that Fatty Tang liked this spot. Someone like Fatty Tang, clearly not a keen student, would never sit at the front of his own accord. Of course, his large size also played a part; sitting at the front would make him too conspicuous, something nobody would enjoy day after day.

"Damn, Yi, you’re right on time, I thought you weren’t coming."

Xiao Yi had just sat down next to Fatty Tang when the class bell rang.

Fatty Tang couldn’t help but lean in and gave Xiao Yi a thumbs up.

"Hehe."

Xiao Yi just laughed without saying much. He could calculate the short distance from Azure Waterfront to University Z down to the second if he timed it seriously.

"Brother, as usual, just call me when they take attendance."

Seeing the teacher entering with the textbooks, Fatty Tang didn’t say much more. He gave Xiao Yi a look of understanding, whispered a comment, and without waiting for Xiao Yi to respond, confidently positioned himself and started to lie down.

"..."

Xiao Yi looked speechlessly at Fatty Tang as he laid down again.

If he came to sleep, why bother coming to the classroom? Why not lie down and sleep in the dorm?

Thinking of Fatty Tang’s sleep behavior, Xiao Yi began to understand why no one sat next to him in the morning. Who would want to sit next to someone whose snoring was thunderous and who drooled?

However, he didn’t care much about whether Fatty Tang slept or not. Just like in the morning, he listened to the teacher for a while, glanced at Fatty Tang whose snoring had already started, and then began to close his eyes to rest.

Forty-five minutes later, the break bell rang and Xiao Yi just opened his eyes. He caught sight of Gao Junjie and his three minions standing up in another corner and heading towards him.

A sneer appeared on Xiao Yi’s lips, and pretending not to see them, he bowed his head and mimicked reading a book.

He had decided that this time, he would teach these annoying fellas a good lesson.

Soon, Gao Junjie and his group reached Xiao Yi. Seeing him seriously reading and even scribbling notes in the book, contempt flashed in their eyes. They could now confirm this guy was just a nerdy bookworm. To think that he was seriously studying a class like moral education which was utterly meaningless, and during the class, they observed him sitting straight, intensely focused, earning a few approving glances from the old teacher.

"Kid, get up!"

The burly man harbored the most resentment towards Xiao Yi and was the first to shout loudly.

"You... you’re calling me?"

Startled, Xiao Yi turned his head, looking at the four menacing figures and glanced at them with a shrinking expression.

"If not you, then who?"

Seeing the fear on Xiao Yi’s face, the burly man immediately felt a surge of pleasure. He sneered inwardly, thinking, Kid, you realize you’re scared now? Too bad, it’s too late! You nearly got me into trouble at noon, and if I don’t give you a harsh lesson today, I won’t be able to calm my anger!

Thinking about what happened at noon, he felt a wave of frustration and resentment.

"What... what do you want?"

Xiao Yi became even more nervous as he spoke.

"Nothing much, just need to discuss something with you, let’s go."

Seeing Xiao Yi’s pathetic demeanor, Gao Junjie and the others looked at him with extreme contempt. Standing next to Gao Junjie, a pale, rather delicate-looking boy, who had been quiet, suddenly spoke softly.

"Something to discuss? Can’t we discuss it here?"

With a hint of wariness and suspicion, Xiao Yi looked at them.

"If I tell you to go, you go. Do you believe if you dawdle any longer, I’d slit your throat right now!"

Seeing Xiao Yi procrastinating, the burly man grew impatient. He flicked his wrist pulling out a switchblade from his belt, and with a practiced flick of his finger, a chilling coldness swept forward.

"You... you... I’ll... go with you."

Xiao Yi, not wanting to start a fight in the classroom under everyone’s gaze, pretended to be scared, his voice trembling as he spoke.

"Truly pathetic, I asked you nicely to go, and you didn’t, forcing me to get serious."

Seeing Xiao Yi’s compliant behavior, the burly man’s face showed an immensely disdainful look, his heart swelling with pride as he twirled the switchblade in his hand.

The other three also sneered at Xiao Yi before turning to walk toward the classroom door.

The burly man followed behind, toying with the chilling switchblade, keeping an eye on Xiao Yi to ensure he wouldn’t try to escape.

The classroom students, having noticed Gao Junjie and his group approaching Xiao Yi, were already paying attention. However, they were well aware of the reputation of the Four Young Evil Masters and dared not interfere. They just watched from afar. Seeing the four herding Xiao Yi toward the classroom door, everyone looked at him with a mix of sympathy, mockery, and schadenfreude.

Most of them didn’t know Xiao Yi. They thought he was the guy who had designs on Zhao Yuhua, because he had taken her seat in the morning, which led the four to trouble him. Instances like this had become all too common since the beginning of school. Some students, unwilling to leave, were beaten senseless right there by the three, strictly speaking, since Gao Junjie never laid a hand on anyone, until a teacher would finally arrive and rush them to the hospital.

Since Gao Junjie and his group gained their fierce reputation, such incidents had ceased for a long time. Now witnessing it again, everyone couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation.
