As they talked, the car arrived at Chen Yang’s newly renovated restaurant.

Chen Yang stopped the car at the entrance, then got off with Xia Qianqian.

"Uncle Chen Yang, what is this place?" Xia Qianqian had never been to Chen Yang’s new restaurant, nor did she know about it, so she was a bit puzzled upon seeing the unfamiliar surroundings.

"This is a spot I took over; it’s being renovated inside. I’m here to have a look, then I’ll take you out for lunch." Chen Yang explained.

"Oh, I see."

After hearing the explanation, Xia Qianqian didn’t ask further and directly followed Chen Yang into the place.

The store was as Chen Yang expected.

In the past two or three days, quite a few workers had been busy.

There were painters, tile fixers, all working energetically.

One of the workers leading the operations recognized Chen Yang.

Upon seeing Chen Yang arrive, he warmly greeted him, "Hey, Boss Chen, you’re here! Is there something you need?"

Chen Yang had met the head worker when signing the contract with the renovation company, so they were acquainted.

"No, just passing by to check how the renovation progress is going." Chen Yang casually replied.

"Oh, I see. Would you like me to walk you through? I can also discuss our next steps, and if there’s anything you’re not satisfied with, we can talk it over." The worker suggested with a smile.

This was precisely what Chen Yang had in mind, so he naturally nodded in agreement.

"Sure, let’s have a look."

"Alright, Boss Chen, follow me." Seeing Chen Yang agree, the worker made a gesture inviting him inside, and they went in together for an inspection.

After a thorough round inside, Chen Yang was quite satisfied with what he saw.

The progress was decent, and at this pace, the renovation could be completed in about twenty days! The speed was really fast.

"The interior renovations are good, but when will the exterior decor and signage be ready?" Having seen no issues inside, Chen Yang suddenly remembered the exterior decorations.

After all, he wanted a distinctive restaurant, so the exterior must be appealing; otherwise, no one would be interested in coming inside.

Thus, the exterior is of utmost importance!

The manager quickly responded to Chen Yang’s concern, "Boss Chen, the materials you requested are complicated to make, which might take another day or two to be perfect."

"Alright then, let me know when you’re setting them up; I want to see how it’s done on-site." Chen Yang nodded and said.

"No problem, we’ll notify you right away when the materials arrive." The manager also nodded with a smile.

"Okay, we’ll be leaving for now."

Having seen enough and talked enough, Chen Yang didn’t linger further and left the restaurant with Xia Qianqian to return to the car.

During the inspection, Xia Qianqian stayed by Chen Yang’s side the entire time, so she heard and saw everything Chen Yang and the manager discussed.

Despite her young age, she had quite a few thoughts.

Once in the car, she began sharing her opinions with Chen Yang, like areas that weren’t perfect.

Chen Yang listened and laughed as he debated with her while driving.

Unconsciously, they arrived back in the county town.

"Qianqian, let’s discuss the renovation next time. It’s getting late, so let’s go to the restaurant you wanted to visit, and afterward, I’ll take you to the village to play, maybe even get you to herd cattle this afternoon." Seeing the time pass, Chen Yang suggested.

Hearing they could eat and play in the afternoon, Xia Qianqian’s childlike excitement burst out.

She didn’t discuss renovation anymore and excitedly nodded in agreement.

"Give me the address, and I’ll drive us there now."

Xia Qianqian nodded and told him the name of the restaurant she wanted to go to.

Chen Yang had heard of the restaurant; it was quite well-known in the county, although he had never been there himself and didn’t know what the food was like.

But since Xia Qianqian was keen to go, trying it out wouldn’t hurt.

So Chen Yang followed the GPS and drove to the restaurant.

After arriving and getting out of the car, Chen Yang instinctively looked up at the sign and exterior decoration.

"Uncle Chen Yang, this is the place! Let’s get in quickly!" Xia Qianqian also saw the sign and was thrilled to be at the place she’d wanted to visit, so she eagerly took Chen Yang’s arm to pull him inside.

Upon entering the interior, a young man in a suit, with a slightly youthful expression, approached them.

At the sight of this person, Chen Yang merely glanced and didn’t pay much attention.

However, Xia Qianqian noticed and seemed somewhat astonished.

Chen Yang noticed Xia Qianqian’s change in emotion and was about to inquire when the young man also noticed them.

"Qianqian?"

"Senior Huo! It really is you!"

The young man tentatively called out to Xia Qianqian, and she responded immediately upon recognizing his greeting.

Hearing this, Huo’s expression grew even prouder.

Yet he humbly added, "Haha, I had some family connections and landed a minor manager position here."

After saying that, he naturally glanced at Chen Yang beside Xia Qianqian; seeing them arm in arm, a hint of displeasure flashed in his eyes.

Chen Yang noticed this but said nothing.

From his perspective, this Huo guy was just a kid, and he and Xia Qianqian didn’t share the kind of relationship he imagined.
