Chapter 850 - 846: Sick Cow
Chapter 850: Chapter 846: Sick Cow
Apart from the calves outside, there are about thirty more in the barn.
Most of these thirty are in relatively good condition, with only a few that seem a bit lethargic and are kept separately, clearly sick, but they shouldn’t be seriously ill.
Chen Yang could tell.
"Friend, are those sick cows for sale?" Chen Yang suddenly pointed at the sick cows and asked the worker next to him.
The worker knew Chen Yang was a big client, so he spoke with respect.
"Uh... I’m not sure about that. I’ll have to go ask the boss." the worker replied.
"Oh."
When Chen Yang saw that these people were unaware, he didn’t ask further, choosing ten good cows and went outside.
Once outside, a vendor who was on the phone came up immediately: "Haha, have you two brothers made your choice? I’ve also contacted the truck from my side, it will be here soon."
"Yes, we’ve made our choice."
Chen Yang nodded and then calculated the price for thirty cows with the vendor.
Thirty cows at two thousand seven each, totaling eighty-one thousand.
After calculating the price, Chen Yang found that it was still a bit short of one hundred thousand, so he set his sights on those sick cows.
When choosing cows inside before, Chen Yang had paid particular attention to those sick ones. Although they seemed ill,
the problem wasn’t significant, and with careful treatment, they could recover.
Most importantly, the price for those sick cows should be lower, so buying them would be quite profitable.
Once this thought emerged in his mind, Chen Yang immediately asked the vendor if the sick cows were for sale.
The vendor was a bit surprised when he heard Chen Yang asking about the sick cows: "Little brother, why do you want to buy those? Planning to cure them?"
"Haha, it’s none of your business, boss, just tell me if they’re for sale." Chen Yang replied with a smile.
The vendor roughly guessed Chen Yang’s intention, so he laughed as well and said, "Yes, of course. But let me be clear, those cows are a bit troublesome and might die if not treated well, so don’t blame me later."
"Don’t worry, boss. Since I’m buying the sick cows, I won’t trouble you. Just give me the price, and I’ll see if it’s worth buying." Chen Yang agreed readily, having great confidence in being able to cure them.
"Hmm, okay then."
Upon hearing Chen Yang agree not to cause trouble, the vendor decided to sell.
After all, livestock farmers dread dealing with sick animals; they’re extremely troublesome to handle and may die if mishandled. So, he’d rather sell them quickly.
"I see you’re sincere about wanting them, so I won’t quote high—one thousand five each. If you’re interested, take them; if not, I’ll deal with them myself." The vendor said casually.
Chen Yang knew the price was about right.
After all, those calves are that big, and the meat itself is worth about that, so he readily agreed.
"Alright, one thousand five each. I’ll take them all. Help me load them onto the truck later, and we’ll settle the bill once they’re delivered."
"Hehe, sure, no problem, little brother. Pleasure doing business." The vendor was thrilled to sell the sick cows and even walked over to shake hands with Chen Yang.
Chen Yang also shook hands with him, signaling that the deal was officially concluded.
After the price and quantity of cows were settled, Chen Yang pulled Niu Ming aside and gave him a few instructions.
He asked him to follow the truck all the way to prevent any tricks or cow swapping.
Although the vendor seemed straightforward and sincere, it was their first cooperation, and caution was necessary.
Niu Ming listened to Chen Yang and immediately nodded in agreement.
"Okay, I got it, Yang Zi. I’ll be careful."
"Alright, I’ll leave it to you here. I have other things to handle elsewhere; once the cows arrive home, settle the bill and wait for me to return." Chen Yang nodded.
"Okay, got it."
Niu Ming nodded, indicating no problem.
Chen Yang acknowledged and then exchanged a few more pleasantries with the vendor before leaving.
He had received a message from Yang Caiyun while choosing the cows earlier.
The shop he commissioned her to find that morning had been found, but the contract hadn’t been signed yet, waiting for him to take a look.
If it’s okay, they could sign the contract and pay the deposit.
Initially, Chen Yang considered letting Yang Caiyun handle everything, but later thought it best to check it himself, so he drove off first.
Niu Ming was entrusted with the task of delivering the cows back.
He left the village, drove back to the county, and then headed straight toward Lin Hui’s restaurant.
After about another twenty minutes of driving, Chen Yang arrived at the entrance of Lin Hui’s restaurant.
He stopped the car and looked around.
Not seeing Yang Caiyun, he took out his phone and called her.
"Sis, where are you? I’m here." The call connected, and Chen Yang said.
"You’re here? Wait a moment; you’ll see me as I come out." Yang Caiyun replied, and then she walked out from a residential building across from Lin Hui’s store.
"Okay, sis, I see you."
Seeing Yang Caiyun, Chen Yang immediately informed and then hung up the phone, got out of the car, and headed over.
Seeing Chen Yang, Yang Caiyun had a faint smile on her face.
"I’ve negotiated everything with the landlord; just waiting for you to sign the contract." As Chen Yang approached, Yang Caiyun said with a smile.
"Thanks, sis."
"Oh, no need to be polite with me. Let’s go. Have a look inside, and if everything’s fine, sign the contract."
Yang Caiyun naturally held onto Chen Yang’s arm as they walked into the residential building.
Inside was an older woman, seemingly in her fifties, not well-maintained and nowhere near as attractive as Yang Caiyun.
"Yang Zi, this is the landlord." Yang Caiyun immediately introduced the landlord.
"Hello."
Chen Yang quickly greeted.
"Hello, hello."
The landlord responded warmly, immediately getting to the point.
"This house is quite spacious and has enough area. It’s perfect for starting a small restaurant! The main thing is that the second floor can be turned into private rooms, which can instantly elevate its class." the landlord praised her property with a smile.
Without saying a word, Chen Yang scanned the surroundings.
He found the house was indeed spacious enough for a restaurant.
And the location was excellent, directly opposite Lin Hui’s restaurant. Once opened, the place would carry a sense of direct competition, which was something Chen Yang particularly liked.
"By the way, Auntie, you mentioned earlier that there’s a second floor. Is it included in the rental?" Chen Yang looked at the first floor and was quite satisfied, so he thought about the second floor.
"Yes, the second floor is included. I’m renting the whole building to you, making it convenient for you to set up the shop." The landlord nodded with a smile, confirming.
"Haha, indeed it’s convenient."
Chen Yang laughed: "Then I’ll take a look at the second floor. If there are no issues, we’ll sign the contract."
