Chapter 818: Chapter 814: The Star’s Singing Voice
As the lyrics appeared on the screen, he immediately started singing.
"This is a simple little love song~"
"Singing the twists and turns of the human heart~"
"I think I’m very happy~"
"To feel your warmth~"
...
As soon as Chen Yang opened his mouth, he dove straight into the moment, completely forgetting everything around him, singing with deep emotion.
Sitting on the couch, the three women, who had been full of anticipation, froze on the spot the instant they heard him sing.
It wasn’t because Chen Yang’s singing was awful. On the contrary, it was because he sang so beautifully—far beyond their expectations—that they were left stunned!
But at this moment, Chen Yang wasn’t aware of their reaction; he was fully immersed in the song.
He finished the intro, moved onto the chorus, and then wrapped up the performance!
When he was done, the three women were utterly shocked, their faces filled with disbelief.
"So, how was my singing?"
After finishing, Chen Yang snapped out of his emotional state and turned to ask the three women for their opinion.
But when he looked back, he saw the three of them wearing expressions of complete astonishment.
"Haha, what’s up with those faces? Was it that bad? Sorry, it’s been ages since I last sang. The last time was back in school." Chen Yang saw their expressions and instinctively assumed his performance was unpleasant to listen to.
Little did he know, the three women were actually blown away by his singing, captivated by the richness of his voice.
They had never expected Chen Yang to be such an incredible singer.
When they had been egging him on earlier, they were looking forward to seeing him embarrass himself by singing off-key. Who would’ve guessed that he’d sing so beautifully—and so passionately!
"N-no, it wasn’t bad. Quite the opposite—it was amazing! Chen Yang, did you major in singing in college or something?"
After several seconds of stunned silence, Yang Ruoxi finally spoke, her voice dazed.
Chen Yang gave a casual laugh. "Not at all, I just sang naturally. Was it really that good?"
Chen Yang had no real awareness of how good his singing was, so when Yang Ruoxi praised him, he found it a bit hard to believe and asked again out of curiosity.
At this point, the three women snapped out of their shock and immediately nodded in unison.
"Mmhmm, it was amazing!"
"Absolutely incredible!"
"If you debuted, I’d totally be your number one fan!"
...
Out of the three of them, Yang Ruoxi was being the most exaggerated, even declaring herself his future fan.
Looking at their expressions, Chen Yang quickly pieced it all together—it seemed his singing truly was that good.
"Haha, really? Great, I was worried I sounded awful."
Chen Yang laughed heartily and plopped down on the couch with them.
As soon as he sat down, the three women started urging him to sing again.
"Chen Yang, we seriously didn’t know you had this talent! You were amazing. Sing another one, please," Yang Ruoxi said immediately.
"Yeah, it was so good! Sing us another."
"You have to sing again! We didn’t get enough just now!"
Li Han and Wu Kexin chimed in, backing Yang Ruoxi up, all encouraging Chen Yang to sing more.
Faced with their enthusiasm, how could Chen Yang possibly refuse?
"Alright, alright, I’ll sing another one," Chen Yang sighed, shaking his head, then got up to pick songs from the console again. As before, he sang with deep emotion.
After he was done, the three women couldn’t have appeared any more smitten. Their eyes sparkled as if they were newly converted fangirls.
Chen Yang was not prepared for this response at all.
"Chen Yang! With a voice like that, it’s a waste not to become a superstar! I’m not even exaggerating," Yang Ruoxi said earnestly.
Chen Yang chuckled, his heart swelling with a tinge of pride.
"Alright, alright, enough with the flattery. I’ve already sung so many. It’s your turn now," he said.
With that, Chen Yang walked over to the console. "What do you want to sing? I’ll pick it for you."
The three women had initially wanted him to keep going, but since he’d already sung multiple songs, they relented and didn’t press him further.
Instead, they picked some songs they wanted to sing themselves.
Thanks to Chen Yang’s example, they loosened up completely. As soon as they started, they jumped right in, skipping any warm-up phase.
With everyone actively participating, the vibe in the private room became lively in no time. Things got so exciting that they even started competing for the mic later on.
But while everyone was having fun singing, the room door suddenly opened.
Chen Yang and the three women immediately turned to look toward the entrance.
They thought it might be a server, but standing there was a casually dressed man with tanned skin.
Judging from his expression, he seemed to be drunk.
Who was this?
Chen Yang and the three women all felt a bit puzzled.
Similarly, the man standing at the door froze for a moment when he saw the four of them inside.
He mumbled to himself, "Huh? Isn’t this room 888?"
Then, he closed the door and left.
Seeing this, Chen Yang didn’t overthink it. He simply assumed the guy was hammered and had entered the wrong room.
So the four of them resumed their singing and fooling around in the room.
They thought it was no big deal. But unexpectedly, about ten minutes later, the door to their private room was pushed open again.
At first, it could’ve just been an innocent mistake.
But this time, it was clearly intentional. A group of people stood at the door, their faces flushed from alcohol.
Leading the group was a short bald man who looked to be in his forties or fifties, wearing a leather jacket and exuding an intimidating appearance.
"Alright, stop the music! Cut it out!"
The short bald man shouted from the doorway.
Hearing this, Chen Yang immediately frowned.
He could tell they were here to stir up trouble.
"Ruoxi, pause the song," Chen Yang said, turning his head.
At this point, Yang Ruoxi and the other two women had caught on as well—these people were here to cause problems. But they weren’t the least bit flustered. After all, they trusted that with Chen Yang around, nothing bad would happen. Plus, they were in their own town. Who would dare lay a hand on them?
"Alright."
Yang Ruoxi nodded and turned off the sound in the room.
"So, what’s the issue here exactly?" With the music paused, Chen Yang turned back to the short bald man and asked.
The bald man sneered, his demeanor cocky and arrogant.
"Kid, I’m not here for you. If you’re smart, step aside and don’t piss me off," the bald man said disdainfully, spitting in Chen Yang’s direction before swaggering into the room with his crew.
They made a beeline for where the three women were seated.
It was obvious—they were targeting the women.
"Wow, Heizi, your eyes didn’t fail you. These three are absolute gems! Stunning!"
As soon as the bald man got a closer look at the three women, his face lit up with lecherous delight, and he practically started drooling at the sight of them.
The "Heizi" he referred to was the dark-skinned man who’d mistakenly entered earlier.
"Hehe, Brother Jun, didn’t I tell you? If you bring these three into a private room for Young Master to have some fun, there’ll definitely be rewards for us," Heizi said with a grin, stepping out from the group of lackeys.
"Mm, mm, not bad at all. If Young Master gets his fun, I’ll make sure you get your share of the reward!" Brother Jun replied, clearly pleased, and promising Heizi a cut of the benefits.
"Hehe, thanks, Brother Jun."
Hearing this, Heizi’s face broke into a wide smile.
