Peach Blossom Divine Medical God -
Chapter 496 - 496 494 Assistant
496: Chapter 494 Assistant 496: Chapter 494 Assistant Since Xiaocui genuinely wanted to learn and his clinic happened to need an extra hand to help out, Chen Yang decided to take Xiaocui under his wing.
“Well, if that’s the case, then it’s settled, you’ll learn from me from now on.”
Upon hearing Chen Yang’s agreement, Xiaocui looked somewhat excited!
Her excited face lifted as she thanked Chen Yang, “Thank you, Boss Chen!”
“No need to thank me for that, and from now on, don’t call me Boss Chen, it sounds too awkward.
If you don’t mind, call me Brother Chen Yang, it’s friendlier,” Chen Yang said with a smile as he stood up.
At these words, Xiaocui’s cheeks turned red, but she still nodded, “Um…
okay, Brother Chen Yang.”
After their conversation, Chen Yang turned and went into the back room.
After rummaging around for a while, he found a few books on basic medical knowledge, and returned to the clinic to hand them to Xiaocui.
“Xiaocui, these books cover some basic medical knowledge.
Take a look at them for now.
I have to step out for a bit, but when I get back, I’ll teach you some practical knowledge,” Chen Yang said.
“Okay, Brother Chen Yang.”
Xiaocui nodded, took the books, and began to flip through them.
Watching Xiaocui browse the books, Chen Yang thought of Nizi.
When Nizi used to help out at home, she would sit in the same spot and read books.
“Several months have passed in the blink of an eye; I wonder how Nizi is doing.
I should really take the time to visit her in the provincial city.”
After pondering for a moment, Chen Yang went back into the back room to wash up and prepare breakfast.
After breakfast, Chen Yang greeted Xiaocui and then headed up the mountain with a plastic basket.
Chen Yang still remembered Yang Caiyun’s talk from the previous evening about wanting to catch some lobsters to try out a new dish.
Since he had nothing else planned for the day, he decided to make a special trip to deliver some lobsters to Yang Caiyun, so she could experiment and see if she could come up with any new dish ideas.
Chen Yang adeptly made his way up the mountain, and while catching lobsters, he also checked the cave’s environment.
He noticed that the number of lobsters had clearly decreased, but there were no other issues.
“If Yang Caiyun decides she needs the lobsters, I’ll have to get more lobster fry to ensure daily supply.
The current supply can’t keep up with the breeding,” he thought.
The lobsters in this pond were sustained primarily through their own reproduction, with only two batches of fry introduced by Chen Yang.
But with the recent increase in demand, the number of lobsters in the pond had begun to decline.
The quantity of lobsters was visibly lower than before.
Having caught the lobsters and checked everything, Chen Yang didn’t think too much of it and headed back with the catch.
He then loaded them into his car and drove them to Yang Caiyun.
It was past ten o’clock when Chen Yang set out, and it was almost noon by the time he arrived at Yang Caiyun’s restaurant.
The restaurant was bustling at this time.
Working tirelessly, the restaurant owner Yang Caiyun was skillfully tapping on the calculator, busily crunching numbers.
Even as Chen Yang approached, she was so focused that she didn’t notice him.
Finally, Chen Yang called out to her, and she looked up to see him standing outside the counter.
Seeing Chen Yang, Yang Caiyun’s face lit up with surprise.
“Yang Zi!
What brings you here?”
Chen Yang chuckled, “I brought you some lobsters.
Didn’t you say yesterday that you wanted to try out a couple of new dishes?”
“You brought them so quickly!” The surprise on Yang Caiyun’s face grew even more.
“Yeah, they’re in the car.
Have a worker come and get them down,” Chen Yang said with a nod and a smile.
“Okay.”
With their relationship, thanks weren’t necessary, so Yang Caiyun simply smiled and nodded, calling over a worker to move the lobsters from Chen Yang’s car.
The business in the store was doing very well, and it was incredibly busy.
But for the lobsters Chen Yang had brought, Yang Caiyun was especially attentive.
The waiter had just moved into the kitchen when she pulled Chen Yang along with her to check it out.
“Come on, join me in taking a look.
Let’s see what’s so different about your lobsters.”
Yang Caiyun was all smiles.
Ever since the two of them had started that kind of relationship, their behaviors had become more intimate without them even realizing it.
Furthermore, Yang Caiyun seemed more spirited, always wearing a smile and exuding an indescribable charm.
It was probably what the old saying goes, ‘A timely rain after a long drought.’
Chen Yang was thus pulled into the kitchen by Yang Caiyun, where they joined a group of cooks huddled around a big half-basket of lobsters.
The restaurant business at Yang Caiyun’s place was booming, so there were many chefs.
Seven or eight burly men with scruffy beards.
“Boss lady, what’s this new thing you’ve brought in?
Is the restaurant introducing a new dish?”
After looking at the lobsters for a while, one of the cooks asked curiously.
Yang Caiyun nodded, “Yes, we’re planning to try something new.
You guys keep busy, I’ll discuss it with you after the lunch rush is over.”
“Alright, sure.”
Upon hearing Yang Caiyun’s prompt, the cooks stopped gawking and returned to their stations, getting back to work.
Yang Caiyun then turned to look at Chen Yang.
“Yang Zi, these lobsters of yours seem fairly normal at a glance, but I feel like there’s something different about them.”
Yang Caiyun appeared puzzled.
After examining the lobsters, she felt they didn’t look any different from others’, yet she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something unique, though she couldn’t pinpoint what it was.
“Heh, the breed of my lobsters is just the ordinary kind,” Chen Yang said with a light smile, explaining, “They’re just a bit bigger than others’, cleaner, and more lively.”
At Chen Yang’s words, Yang Caiyun immediately nodded her head in agreement.
“Exactly, that’s it!
Your lobsters are so lively and clean.
The ones from others are all grimy, how come yours are so clean?” After nodding, Yang Caiyun asked, still puzzled.
“These were raised with a special technique, they’re not only clean but also taste much better than other lobsters.
Try cooking some for yourself today,” Chen Yang continued to explain.
“Okay, great, I’ll give it a try after the busy noon, and if there’s no problem, you’ll need to supply me for a long time,” Yang Caiyun said with a laugh.
“No problem.”
Chen Yang promptly nodded his head in agreement.
He then left the kitchen with Yang Caiyun.
Since the restaurant was busy, Chen Yang didn’t linger and indicated that he was leaving.
“Leaving now?
It’s already midday, why not stay for a meal?
Qianqian is at home today, I could introduce you two; that way, it’ll be more convenient for you when you come to visit…” As Yang Caiyun got to the end of her sentence, her face turned unnaturally red.
When Chen Yang heard the word ‘visit,’ a wave of heat rushed through him, and that thought resurfaced.
However, he quickly suppressed the idea.
With the restaurant being so busy and so many eyes around, it definitely wouldn’t be appropriate.
“Maybe some other time, I should pass on lunch; I have things to do when I get back.
Next time I’ll treat you and your daughter to a fancy meal outside,” Chen Yang declined with a smile.
When Yang Caiyun heard that Chen Yang was also busy, she didn’t insist any further and saw him off to his car.
“Drive safely on your way back.”
“Yeah, I’m going now, sis.”
Chen Yang nodded, then started the engine and left the place, heading straight back to Liuhe Village.
Chen Yang had decided not to eat at Yang Caiyun’s because Xiao Cui was still at his home.
It was her first day over, and it wouldn’t be right for Chen Yang not to prepare lunch for her, would it?
