Chapter 430: Chapter 1 Sword Madman Leaves the Gate! _3
The sword scabbard and the sword itself were covered in the odor of blood, a pungent smell that filled the entire room.
Siming’s pupils contracted sharply.
?!!!
What has this bloodthirst been used for by the old killer?
Footsteps approached, and Mr. Siming felt a chill down his spine; he suddenly sprang up and turned around.
Murong Longtu, fresh from bathing and changing clothes, walked out in a green shirt with his white hair neatly combed. He was tall and had a clear, bright look. The wrinkles on his face didn’t make him seem old but rather lent him an air of vitality. He looked at the sword and its scabbard, sheathed the sword, placed it on the table, and then turned to Siming, saying,
"The notification has been properly delivered."
"Elder, come with me."
Notification?
What kind of notification?
What have you done, boy?
Siming looked at Murong Longtu, his mouth twitching, "It’s not, I mean."
"Between Chen Country and Ying Country, do the main generals on both sides reason like this? I’ve heard that over the past ten years, they have turned this place into a training ground, with both sides’ main generals being young and valiant from the younger generation, very brave and warlike."
"Especially tight-lipped, like stones. If you persuade them, they might even renege..."
Siming didn’t know what he was talking about.
Murong Longtu replied, "There’s no need for such trouble."
"The main generals from both sides are dead."
"Within a month, he shouldn’t have time to attack me."
Siming’s palm trembled, and Murong Longtu continued, "Although I can’t sense my granddaughter and great-grandson’s presence now, they might face danger. At that time, the elder will probably be able to feel it..."
Siming looked at this old thing, saying,
"What if, in one month’s time, both sides send new main generals?"
Murong Longtu replied indifferently,
"Then I will kill again."
World Sword Madman!
The corner of Siming’s eye twitched. He didn’t say anything, just felt that the fellows at The World’s First Building were spot on when bestowing titles; a martial artist who had been arrogantly proud all his life, how could he possibly play by the rules set by the kings of the nations, indulging in balance?
The court’s rules are about balance, the temples’ rules are about power.
The Martial World is different.
The Martial World is chaotic yet pure: with a long sword in hand and unyielded passion in heart, the vast world is yours to explore — that’s the Martial World.
Suddenly, Siming realized a question, "Aren’t you taking those ninety-six mystical weapons with you?"
Sword Madman answered,
"Mystical weapons, what are those?"
Siming felt the question was silly, then he suddenly realized something, looking at the aged Sword Madman, he suddenly couldn’t laugh.
"Have you forgotten your sword?"
"No."
"To attain the sword, forget the sword; even grass, trees, bamboo, and stones can be swords, and then take up a sword again.
"This path, I had reached it when I was thirty years old, it’s just that I was too lazy to take it."
Sword Madman casually extended his hand, broke off a willow branch, and hung it on his waist, saying lightly,
"This will be enough."
Martial Artists from the Martial World gathered outside the cities of the Jiangnan Eighteen States. There were knights, martial artists, villains, and even spies from within Chen Country and Ying Country, all congregated outside the Murong Family’s gates, seeing the grand doors of the Murong Family open.
The white-haired elder, clad in a green shirt, wore only a willow branch at his waist.
They all lost the ability to speak.
The grand ceremony had ended ten days ago.
Ten days later.
Sword Madman, out of the pass.
The storm under the heavens, it never ceases.
...
Li Guanyi sat on the ox cart, the cart leisurely and slowly making its way, the long-haired cat nestled in his embrace, warm and toasty. Now that it was midsummer, the fourteen-year-old boy’s yang energy was exuberant, and with the cat’s Qilin Fire nature, it felt like he was holding fire.
The youth pushed it away, but the Qilin long-haired cat seemed stubbornly fond of that particular tactile sensation on his feet.
It came over time and time again.
Finally, the boy just let it be, interlacing his hands behind his head, lying on top of the straw that hid the Iron Futu heavy armor, the ox cart leisurely moving forward, his life for these past several days rather tranquil and undisturbed.
Although in the Martial World, there was a burgeoning sense of a brewing storm.
But Li Guanyi had finally shaken off the Chen Country pursuers.
It seemed like he had crushed the morale of the opposing pursuers.
That gentleman’s Quadruple-cross strategy, albeit only a fraction of a fraction, when filled in with General Xue’s techniques, still managed to blow the minds of the second-tier troops of Chen Country chasing him. They probably thought Li Guanyi would circle back, but the boy took advantage of this moment to press on.
He stretched out a finger and pushed up his wide-rimmed hat.
These past several days, he had felt an increasing number of Martial Artists in the Martial World.
What is the Martial World?
Li Guanyi thought about it and did not know.
Without values, without rules, after buying a new ox cart, a new old ox to haul it, the young man’s purse didn’t shrink but instead became even plumper. People continually offered money, and fights arose without reason or cause.
Perhaps this was the Martial World.
Having arrived in a new town, he needed to buy some dry provisions.
This place was very close to where Shaking Light had indicated. Li Guanyi glanced over but then noticed a familiar place. After a look—
[Xue Family’s General Store.]
No, this mark, this emblem?
Located near the borders of Chen Country, this was an outpost established by the Xue Family’s confidants.
Seeing those familiar things, Li Guanyi felt Elder Xue was still after him.
He thought for a moment and drove the cart over.
The shopkeeper of Xue Family’s General Store was idly clicking his abacus. Located at the edge of Chen Country, where natural resources are bountiful, the Xue Family had established a presence here. Suddenly he heard knocking sounds and looked up to see a Taoist youth.
"Oh? What would the young Taoist like to purchase?"
"Our store has all kinds of weapons, ancient mountain herbs, bear paws and hides, ginseng and lingzhi mushrooms, everything you could want. We also have fine horsetail whisks and brand new Taoist robes. May I ask, young Taoist, what do you need?"
Li Guanyi, having altered his features using "Jiangnan Misty Rain Twelve Layers," was unrecognizable unless to those intimately familiar with him. Knowing Elder Xue had become the Prime Minister, he wanted to send him a message to say he was still relatively safe but needed to be extremely cautious.
The Taoist youth thought for a moment, then said:
"I’ve heard the Xue Family welcomes knights from all over the world and is happy to receive letters of allegiance from the sons of all schools. I... the poor Taoist, wish to write a letter to the Xue Family."
This was a code used by the Xue Family; based on the different titles, the importance varied. This code was of the highest level. The shopkeeper was slightly taken aback, noticing the jade pendant around the young man’s neck.
His eyes hesitated for a moment, his expression instantly becoming even more respectful, as he said:
"Very well, Taoist..."
He paused, then changed his address:
"Young master, please wait."
"To whom shall I deliver it?"
Li Guanyi extended his hand, unconsciously grasped the jade pendant necklace, and smiled:
"Just send it to Guan Yi City."
The shopkeeper’s respectful demeanor grew more pronounced, inviting him into an inner room, providing him with paper and a pen, all of the finest quality, then respectfully stepped away, not daring to look. The young man sat cross-legged, lifted the pen, and began to write his letter. He had discovered much while traversing the Martial World and had much to report to Elder Xue.
But as he began to write, he subconsciously penned:
’Miss...’
Li Guanyi paused, crumpled that piece of paper into a ball, rubbed his hands together, and the cat on his shoulder spat fire, turning the object into blue smoke. Li Guanyi then took a new piece of paper and wrote:
’Shuangtao’
