Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Mountain Bandits’ Night Raid
Five Enlightenment Pills were quickly distributed by Long Yunyun, each of the five children holding one pill in their hands, occasionally examining the pill, looking at each other in turn, yet none dared to eat first.
"Eat it." Long Yunyun said, seeing the children drooling with desire.
Like receiving a military order, the kids hurriedly popped the fragrant Enlightenment Pills into their mouths.
Among them, a boy, just five years old and still sniffling, dropped his pill on the ground in his haste, and began to cry loudly.
Long Yunyun quickly picked up the Enlightenment Pill, gently wiped off the non-existent dust, and placed it back into the sniffling boy’s mouth.
Never mind that it fell on the ground and wasn’t even dirty, even if it had been, they would still need to eat it; countless people yearn for such a thing, how could a child from a poor mountain village be picky?
With a gentle wave, she extinguished the flames under the six large vats. The children had already consumed the Enlightenment Pills, now it was time to wait for the medicinal effects to take hold before placing them into the vats for a medicinal bath.
Actually, the best method would be to place the children in an area like the Mu Family’s restricted region full of dense Spiritual Energy, but Mu Can had no choice but to manually create a vat full of Spiritual Energy.
"Brother, I’m feeling hot." The effects of the Enlightenment Pill began to manifest, with Xiao Bao feeling as hot as burning charcoal.
"Xiao Bao, hang in there, your future achievements depend on today," encouraged Mu Can.
Xiao Bao was an obedient child. Hearing Mu Can’s instruction, he immediately clenched his teeth and remained silent.
"Get in the water." Judging that the medicinal effect of the Enlightenment Pill had taken effect, and the water in the vat had cooled down to a bearable temperature, Mu Can instructed.
The six children had already entered a deep meditative state, sitting cross-legged like adults in cultivation, and under Mu Can’s command, they were all placed into the vats, the water temperature already reduced.
Entering the vats that were taller than a person, they unexpectedly didn’t sink as anticipated; all six children maintained their original positions, with only their heads above the water.
Seeing the children’s heads floating on the water, Mu Can let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank you." Long Yunyun approached Mu Can and said earnestly.
Without Mu Can, these children would at most reach the Great Martial Master realm in their lifetimes, but with Mu Can’s Elixir and the initiation of Enlightenment, these children would start at a much higher level.
"Don’t flatter yourself. What does this have to do with you?" Mu Can glanced at Long Yunyun and said indifferently.
"Don’t be too much." Long Yunyun nearly exploded. She, the young lady, had humbled herself to thank him, but encountered such an attitude from Mu Can.
"Oh well, let me rephrase that. Please don’t think that anything I did for the children has anything to do with you." Mu Can said lightly, seeing Long Yunyun about to burst.
"Ah!" Long Yunyun lunged forward with a clawing gesture. If not for Old Wang and Gouzi’s quick reactions in holding her back, she might have grabbed onto Mu Can.
"No way, boss," Old Wang shouted, holding onto Long Yunyun.
"Yes, boss, you can’t lay a hand on him," Gouzi also pleaded, tears and snot flowing.
"Crazy woman," Mu Can remarked, seeing Long Yunyun’s clawing gesture.
"It seems we have guests," Mu Can said seriously, noticing over fifty people approaching the village.
As soon as Mu Can finished speaking, a group of people appeared at the entrance of the village.
Seeing the bald man leading them, everyone in the village changed their expressions.
"Han Laoda." Old Wang let go of Long Yunyun’s hand and stepped back twice. Han Laoda was infamously notorious in Yunlong Mountain.
"Hahaha, surround them! What are you up to in the middle of the night? What sorcery is this, boiling children?" Han Laoda laughed boisterously.
At his command, the bandits accompanying him immediately surrounded Mu Can and the others.
"Yunyun, it’s been a day since I saw you, it feels like... like... what does it feel like?" Han Laoda slapped a scholarly-looking subordinate beside him and asked.
"As if three autumns had passed." The bandit dressed as a Scholar whispered.
Old Han slapped his thigh, "Exactly, exactly, not seeing you one day feels like three autumns have passed. Yunyun, my feelings for you are as clear as day and night."
Old Han looked at Long Yunyun with deep affection and said lovingly.
"Get lost." Long Yunyun cursed with an iron-blue face.
"Hehe, Yunyun scolded right, I will roll out, how about rolling to your front?" Old Han chuckled.
The bandits surrounding Mu Can and the others also started to jeer.
"It’d be better if our sister-in-law rolls with our big brother back to the village, it’s inconvenient here, everyone agrees, right?"
"Right, sister-in-law must roll with big brother, maybe roll on a big bed or something."
A group of bandits burst into lewd laughter.
Mu Can frowned almost imperceptibly.
These bandits, unlike Long Yunyun and her group, each had a faint scent of blood on them, seemingly having killed more than one person.
"Yunyun, today we should settle our affairs, if you don’t follow me up the mountain, all these children and your subordinates here, I’ll have to kill," Old Han’s expression changed as he spoke with a calm voice. However, everyone smelled the bloodthirst in his tone.
The troops brought by Old Han also raised their weapons, waiting for Old Han’s command to start killing.
"Ha, a toad lusting after a swan’s meat? Even if we all die, don’t think you can marry our boss." Old Wang shouted loudly. Although he was truly scared of Old Han, he was more afraid of Long Yunyun being bullied.
"Exactly, look at him, even a toad is better than him. At least a toad has spots, he doesn’t even have hair," Dogzi also chimed in.
Listening to the two mocking in turn, Old Han’s face changed colors, turning green and purple, eventually flushing deep red.
As the self-proclaimed Sovereign of Yunlong Mountain, his appearance had always been Old Han’s deepest sorrow. No matter how many Spiritual Medicines he used, his hair just wouldn’t grow.
"You’re seeking death." Old Han gritted out the words fiercely.
"Who the hell are you, you bald thief, saying we’ll die as if you’re the one who decides, I say you die too!" Old Wang really went for it today, shouting loudly.
Old Han’s face turned livid.
He waved his hand furiously, "Kill them."
Long Yunyun nervously glanced at Mu Can.
Mu Can sighed, "Do we have to take action now?"
"Stop!" Mu Can stood up and shouted loudly.
Old Han saw a young man, who looked immature and appeared to have no cultivation, standing up.
Darkly, he asked, "And who are you?"
Mu Can chuckled, "Who am I? I am your daddy."
