Path of Alchemy Mastery -
Chapter 158 - 160 Purple Cloud Points the Way
Chapter 158: Chapter 160 Purple Cloud Points the Way
"Such a powerful woman."
Uncle Lan looked at the peerless beauty who suddenly appeared and felt a bit nervous. The woman before him gave Uncle Lan the oppressive feeling of a towering mountain.
This was the strongest person Uncle Lan had met since he entered the Martial Venerate realm through gambling.
"I’ll gamble with you," Purple Cloud said indifferently.
"Okay." Uncle Lan might be afraid if it were about fighting, but when it came to gambling, he had complete confidence in his own skills and feared no one.
Without any hesitation, Uncle Lan immediately agreed.
"Yun Yi, win against him," Mu Can said to Purple Cloud, full of confidence. This mysterious woman, since appearing by his side, had never failed to achieve anything, be it fighting or alchemy, or even anything at all, she seemed almost omnipotent.
Mu Can was looking forward to Purple Cloud giving him a pleasant surprise, as he was indeed very interested in the skills that Uncle Lan possessed.
In the following time, Mu Can witnessed a true showdown of gambling skills.
The two went from rolling dice to playing Pai Gow, and then to Mahjong, trying every form of gambling there was in both the Mortal World and Immortal World.
Uncle Lan was completely defeated.
"How is this possible." As they gambled, sweat poured down Uncle Lan’s face like rain.
"This can’t be."
Uncle Lan let out a painful howl, feeling ruthlessly defeated in his area of expertise. He felt as if something he had firmly held on to in his heart had shattered.
With his hands painfully clutching his head, his spirit nearly collapsed.
"Calm down; do you know why you lost?" Purple Cloud saw Uncle Lan’s reaction and lightly chastised him.
Like the striking of a morning bell or the beat of an evening drum, her words brought Uncle Lan back from the chaos.
"Why?" Even though he had recovered from the shock, the result of his total defeat still utterly devastated Uncle Lan.
"Because I am stronger than you. What is this gambling technique? It still relates greatly to strength," Purple Cloud said with scorn.
That had always been Purple Cloud’s attitude towards gambling.
"If you’re strong enough, you could even change the dice inside the cup you call ’untouchable,’ directly," Purple Cloud continued.
"Are you saying that I was wrong? There is no such thing as the way of gambling." Uncle Lan was in agony, the path he had steadfastly followed turned out to be wrong, and it twisted his heart like a knife.
Mu Can felt somewhat pity, as Uncle Lan was just a bit too fond of gambling; he wasn’t a bad person and never bullied others using his power. Mu Can desperately made eye contact with Purple Cloud, signaling her to speak less harshly.
Purple Cloud acted as if she hadn’t seen Mu Can’s gestures and ignored them.
"You’re not wrong, but you’ve forgotten one thing: the rules are set by the powerful. If you’re strong enough, you can change the rules, just like with gambling."
"I have a suggestion, if you care to hear it," Purple Cloud paused and then continued.
"Please enlighten me." Uncle Lan kneeled before Purple Cloud with a thud.
Purple Cloud frowned but then her face relaxed.
"The essence of gambling, under absolutely fair conditions, ultimately depends on luck, and luck, when expanded, refers to Qi Fortune. I believe your future path should lean towards Qi Fortune," Purple Cloud said lightly.
As an Immortal Realm Supreme, deciding on the path for someone at the Martial Venerate Level, she still had clear insights.
A single statement can awaken someone from their dreams.
"Betting on the way."
"Luck."
"Qi Fortune."
Uncle Lan plunged into deep contemplation, with Purple Cloud’s remark lifting him from the dreamlike visions fixated on gambling. After all, the technique is but a craft, while exploring its essence has already reached the level of the Way.
A powerful aura emanated from Uncle Lan, and incredibly, hair slowly began to grow on his previously bald head.
It seemed that a tremendous change was happening within Uncle Lan, and shortly after.
Uncle Lan knelt down deeply before Purple Cloud.
"Thank you, fairy, for showing the way."
With a single sentence, Purple Cloud had illuminated the path for Uncle Lan, casting aside techniques to stride forth on the road seeking the Way.
It could be said that, without Purple Cloud, Uncle Lan might have remained a mere petty gambler until his dying day, but now, if he could walk on the path shown by Purple Cloud, his future was boundlessly promising.
"Sister Yun, can you also show me the way?" Poor Tiger gathered his courage and slowly approached, asking with an expectant face.
He knew of Purple Cloud’s strength, but had never imagined someone could be guided on the Way.
"Enter the Way through the body, search everywhere for Spirit Fruits, and someday your body itself will be the capital for your cultivation to the Way," said Purple Cloud lightly, looking at Poor Tiger.
This tiger, who did not eat meat and practiced vegetarianism, was particularly caring towards Mu Can, and Purple Cloud was rather pleased with this, not minding to give a few pointers.
"Sister Yun, what about me?" Seeing Purple Cloud guiding Poor Tiger, Little Demon hurriedly stepped forward and asked with a nervous face, fearing Purple Cloud would not tell her.
"Your Spiritual Sense and perception are much stronger than those of an ordinary Martial Venerate. You can use this to comprehend your own Way; actually, the Great Way is vast and boundless, and there isn’t any fixed path. Whatever suits you is the right one," Purple Cloud explained lightly.
For someone of her Immortal Realm Supreme status, providing guidance to a Martial Venerate was effortless.
"What about me?" Seeing Purple Cloud outlining paths for several others, Mu Can also eagerly moved closer to Purple Cloud.
"Your path, only you know how to walk it."
Purple Cloud shook her head, not wanting to interfere with the path Mu Can would take in the future. Mu Can already had plenty of backers: the support of someone of Immortal Realm Supreme status, powerful mentors, uncles, the Reincarnation Pearl, the Dragon Clan heritage.
Any one of these things would be enough to drive a person to elation, yet Mu Can now possessed all of them singly.
"Perhaps this is Qi Fortune, isn’t it?" thought Purple Cloud to herself.
"In the future, you must focus on tempering your heart. When the opportunity arises, I will help you completely remove the Demon Heart Seal," Purple Cloud said, frowning at the mark on Mu Can’s neck.
Although it hadn’t acted up in a long time, the Demon Heart Seal was still like a ticking time bomb.
"Yes," Mu Can nodded vigorously.
With Uncle Lan’s repeated entreaties, Mu Can and the others continued on their journey.
"When the chance comes, I will find you in the Mortal World," said Uncle Lan, intending to leave this place to roam once his strength increased further.
The beings within the Death Maze could leave through the challenges left by a figure of high esteem, something even the well-informed Poor Tiger did not know.
"Sure, when the time comes, I’ll take you to the casino for some fun," said Mu Can, no longer the simple and naive figure he once was. His gains in this secret chamber space had indeed been bountiful.
Three days later, the group stopped in a vast secret chamber space.
"This is it." Poor Tiger pointed to the enormous gateway suspended in mid-air ahead.
This space was markedly different from the others, with only two gateways. According to Poor Tiger, one led to other secret chamber spaces, while the other was the exit leading out.
