Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Beast Emperor Pill

Over three days, Mu Can had gone through no less than ten battles.

Although he sustained certain injuries, the gains were considerable.

Two low-grade Immortal-level weapons, one Protective Jade Pendant, one piece of Protective Treasure Armor.

To obtain these items, Mu Can had almost exhausted all his skills, just short of tapping into the power of the Reincarnation Pearl.

In one of the most dangerous battles, he was even stabbed in the abdomen by an opponent’s sword, and even with Mu Can’s strong recovery abilities, blood still seeped out from the wound through the bandages.

A hundred people, and in three days, only sixty remained.

This meant that within a mere three days, more than forty people had fallen forever in the Death Space.

It also meant that the sixty who survived had come to understand the cruelty of Death Space.

So, everyone tried their best to conceal their whereabouts, doing their utmost to survive.

The battle in which Mu Can got injured was caused by a Swordsman hidden in the water.

The Swordsman’s sword was actually growing right out of his arm; a peculiar race, with a hand for the left arm, while the forearm of the right was actually a sharp Longsword.

A race of naturally born Swordsmen, also the strongest opponent Mu Can had encountered in Death Space.

That battle was nearly a last-resort effort before he killed the opponent.

"At least I can catch my breath now." Mu Can found a secluded place and let out a long sigh of relief.

Three consecutive days of tension had made Mu Can feel a bit overloaded, filled with fatigue.

He hurriedly found such a hidden place, the series of battles necessitating that Mu Can find somewhere to rest.

This was a cave hidden behind a thicket, also discovered by Little Fortune.

"It’s too thrilling." Mu Can stroked Little Fortune and said to Purple Cloud inside the Reincarnation Pearl.

The battle process was tough, but Mu Can had a feeling of exhilaration he hadn’t experienced in a long fight, he felt every cell in his body trembling with excitement.

"Recover quickly, I thought your strength was enough to crush most people, but I didn’t expect there to be so many powerful individuals here," Purple Cloud advised without disparaging Mu Can.

It wasn’t clear whether there was only one Death Space, but most of the peculiar Cultivators Mu Can had met were formidable experts, and he even felt that the combat power of the opponents he had encountered was generally not much different from each other.

However, Mu Can knew that as time went on, those who survived would be even more experienced fighters, which meant that the battles to come would be even harder.

Gently undoing his clothes, the wound on his stomach was already healing gradually; that sword strike had nearly cut his intestines.

"Damn, that Swordsman was really ruthless." Mu Can still vividly remembered that astonishing thrust.

If it hadn’t been for Little Fortune’s timely warning on his shoulder, allowing Mu Can to dodge at the last moment, that sword would have pierced straight through his heart.

"Little brat, you must be extremely careful, the various peculiar races should not be underestimated," Purple Cloud warned with a serious face.

If Purple Cloud had known Death Space was so dangerous, she would have made sure Mu Can was fully prepared before entering.

"Squeak squeak squeak." Little Fortune jumped out of Mu Can’s arms, frantically gnawing at Mu Can’s clothes, trying to drag him to a certain place.

Seeing Little Fortune’s reaction, Mu Can immediately became vigilant, picked up his long blade, and followed Little Fortune.

Now Mu Can had great respect for Little Fortune’s keen perception abilities.

Xiao Fuqi’s fluffy little face was filled with anxiety as he ran to a corner of the cave and called out vigorously to Mu Can.

"Something there?" Mu Can asked, puzzled.

Xiao Fuqi, hearing Mu Can’s question, nodded vigorously.

Mu Can picked up his longsword and started digging on the spot, imagining others’ expressions if they knew he was using an Immortal Level Low Grade divine weapon for digging.

But Mu Can didn’t care about that. If he couldn’t make it out alive, any number of divine weapons would be meaningless.

His sword hit something solid. Mu Can knew he had found something.

Xiao Fuqi became even more excited, as if something very important to him was about to appear.

Setting the sword aside, Mu Can dug with his hands and unearthed a small box.

"There really is something." Mu Can glanced at the jubilant Xiao Fuqi.

A fluffy little face with a split grin, bursting with delight.

Gently opening the small box, a refreshing fragrance wafted out, and inside was indeed an elixir.

People say that within Death Space, various adventures await. This was Mu Can’s first time finding something useful.

"Analyze." Mu Can held the elixir before his eyes and softly commanded.

"Beast Emperor Pill, Immortal Level Low Grade Elixir, greatly enhances the strength of a Demon Beast." Number 36’s functions were almost fully developed by Mu Can; most things in Death Space could be named and classified by Number 36, including their uses.

Mu Can patted Xiao Fuqi’s fluffy head, which felt incredibly good to the touch.

"You little glutton, do you want this?" Mu Can teased, waving the elixir before Xiao Fuqi’s eyes.

Xiao Fuqi nodded vigorously, rubbing his furry little head back and forth against Mu Can.

"Here you go." Mu Can tossed the elixir to Xiao Fuqi, who eagerly swallowed it down.

No sooner had he swallowed the elixir than Xiao Fuqi began to change; a surge of momentum rose and then dissipated into nothing. Xiao Fuqi slowly shifted beside Mu Can, his four short legs flailing wildly until Mu Can, anxious, picked him up. Xiao Fuqi then slowly fainted in Mu Can’s arms.

"Number 36, what’s wrong with Xiao Fuqi?" Mu Can asked, his face filled with urgency.

"Demon Beast Xiao Fuqi, a contract Demon Beast of contestant Number 36, has entered an evolutionary state after consuming the Beast Emperor Pill, expected duration five days."

Number 36’s response put Mu Can’s mind at ease. It seems that Xiao Fuqi had embarked on his own adventure.

"Purple Cloud, can you take Xiao Fuqi in?" asked Mu Can. With even harsher battles to come, he didn’t know if he could protect an unconscious Xiao Fuqi.

Purple Cloud didn’t speak, but a force was conveyed; the next moment, the Xiao Fuqi in Mu Can’s arms vanished, appearing inside the first layer of the Reincarnation Pearl.

Purple Cloud gently held Xiao Fuqi, caressing his cute little head.

"You’re quite lucky, aren’t you?" Xiao Fuqi had grown quite a bit, his whole body fluffy like a cute little furball.

After carefully concealing the cave entrance, Mu Can lay down in the cave to rest.

He was really too tired and soon fell into a deep sleep.

Tomorrow would be the fifth day, and the safe zone within Death Space would shrink.

Fiercer battles were imminent, and what tomorrow would bring was unknown.

Purple Cloud didn’t rest but kept watch over Mu Can, alert to the environment outside.
