Chapter 107: Chapter 107: The Killing Begins
"Attention, the cultivators entering the Death Space have reached a hundred people, the slaughter is about to begin, the slaughter is about to begin."
The voice of number thirty-six rang in Mu Can’s ears, on the second day after Mu Can entered, the Death Space had already met the opening conditions.
"Finally, it begins." A resolute look flashed in Mu Can’s eyes.
"No matter what, no matter what kind of enemy I face, I must win."
"Dad, wait for me, I will definitely save you."
The Death God Space is a vast space, within which there are mountains, rivers, and even a small desert.
Mu Can cautiously searched in this forest, in this space, anyone you meet is an enemy.
Hearing the rustling sounds from the woods ahead, Mu Can’s figure tensed, instantly hiding behind a large tree.
Observing carefully the movement ahead, a cultivator in his thirties appeared in Mu Can’s eyesight.
The cultivator was also carefully exploring.
In Death Space where dangers outweigh opportunities, almost everyone treads on thin ice.
Mu Can saw an opportunity and rushed forward instantly.
Activating Mystic Dragon Nine Revolutions, Mu Can’s demeanor transformed, turning frosty.
Seeing Mu Can charging out, the opposing cultivator was startled, adopting a defensive posture with both hands on the saber.
Their eyes met in a cold clash, close quarters combat ensued, and the opposing cultivator’s long saber actually blocked Mu Can’s attack.
His arms, covered in dragon scales, were as hard as any Divine weapon.
"There’s something strange about this saber."
"Not right." Mu Can felt a sudden dizziness upon seeing the opponent’s eyes.
The opponent’s eyes were entirely unlike those of a normal human; the huge pupils occupied two-thirds of the entire eye.
Inside, there were three snake-like creatures moving.
"Fell for it, huh?" Seeing Mu Can mesmerized, the opponent grinned, revealing sharp fangs, clearly not of the Human Clan.
Seeing Mu Can distracted, he drew his saber and slashed towards Mu Can’s chest; if this strike landed, Mu Can would not escape a gruesome fate.
Mu Can’s expression hardened, snapping back from the brief bewilderment.
The fierce slash landed on Mu Can but was blocked by the thin and transparent dragon scales on his body.
Seeing the saber stroke ineffective, the opposing cultivator took it that Mu Can was wearing protective soft armor.
He quickly retreated, holding the saber and coldly watching Mu Can.
A duel between masters happens in an instant, and the terrifying eyes of the opposing cultivator could give him an upper hand in battle.
Gently touching his chest, he found a deep mark on the tough dragon scale, nearly harming Mu Can.
Mu Can also felt a surge of anxiety; had he not cultivated Mystic Dragon Nine Revolutions, that strike would have killed him.
"Dragon Clan?" The opposing cultivator asked coldly, looking at Mu Can’s dragon-transformed arms.
The voice was hoarse and grating, nothing like what a human would produce.
Mu Can’s eyes turned icy; if not for his astonishing defensive power, he would have fallen into the opponent’s trap.
"Quick battle, quick decision, don’t attract others," Purple Cloud advised.
In the Death Space, there’s no place for morality, survival is the only important thing.
If the battle isn’t quickly resolved, the noise could easily attract others, and the ultimate beneficiary would surely be a third party.
"Only dead enemies are good enemies."
Originally, Mu Can had a bit of resistance to this kind of killing in his heart.
But it was not until he encountered the first enemy that Mu Can truly underwent a transformation.
Without even acknowledging the opponent, he instantly activated his Breeze Realm movement technique, moving so quickly that afterimages appeared.
"So fast." The opponent Cultivator didn’t even have time to react before feeling a shadow suddenly appear in front of him.
Unable to block in time, he took a fierce punch to the stomach.
Blood sprayed out as that punch directly shattered his internal organs.
With a face full of unwillingness, he looked at Mu Can and slowly fell to the ground, dying without even leaving behind a name.
"Contestant number 36 has successfully killed contestant number 78. There are 93 people remaining in the Death Space," a voice rang out in Mu Can’s ears.
In the Death Space, everyone had a small Spiritual Artifact in their ears. Whenever someone was killed, such a voice would announce it.
"Let’s see what he has on him." Mu Can didn’t know if it was due to bad luck, but he hadn’t found anything since entering the Death Space.
Picking up the long saber, Mu Can examined it closely.
"Rock-cutting Long Saber, low-grade Immortal Level," Mu Can remarked as the voice of number thirty-six sounded.
"Oh? Number thirty-six, do you recognize this weapon?" Mu Can asked with interest.
"The weapons and Magic Treasures appearing in the Death Space are randomly selected from the owner’s arsenal."
"How do you categorize the weapons?"
Mu Can, knowing the current space did not belong to the known realms of the Mortal World, was also looking to learn about other realms.
"Weapons are classified into five levels: Mortal, Super Mortal, Immortal, Divine, and Super Divine, each divided into three grades," number thirty-six answered every question.
Mu Can gained insight; such detailed classification of weapon grades was not available in the Mortal World.
Now, Mu Can felt like both the Mortal World and Immortal World were just minor trifles in comparison.
Compared to those higher realms, they were utterly insignificant.
"One day, I will surpass the Immortal World," Mu Can silently resolved.
As a Cultivator, one must have the heart of a strong warrior that never admits defeat.
The old Mu Can could never touch this level, so his goal was only the Immortal World.
But now, having encountered a powerful race that could expel the Dragon Clan from the Dragon Realm and met Great Power level beings capable of creating spaces,
Mu Can’s outlook was gradually changing.
Feeling around, he realized that the opponent had nothing except for this long saber, not even a Storage Magical Artifact.
"Looks like you were quite poor too," Mu Can shook his head, afraid that the earlier fight might draw others, quickly got up, and left swiftly.
This was Mu Can’s first battle in the Death Space.
"Sister Yun, do you know the race of that person just now?" Mu Can asked Purple Yun inside the Reincarnation Pearl.
"I don’t know either; there are too many realms connected to this inter-dimensional gateway for me to know."
The Death Space was indeed too mysterious and far beyond Purple Yun’s comprehension.
Mu Can carefully searched along the way, moving towards the safe area designated by number thirty-six.
In the Death Space, the area where one could move would shrink every five days.
This fundamentally thwarted anyone’s thoughts of safely hiding in one place. To survive, one had only the path of battle.
