Chapter 432: 399 As long as you two are happy with your little life, that’s what matters (3 updates)

By evening, Tang Su had received two gifts, one was Sun Qing’s masterpiece, a particularly bold design of intimate apparel, and the other was from her future in-laws, a brand-new red BMW.

The car was parked in her original parking spot in their residential complex, and the keys were brought back by Lu Han when he finished work.

Bai Wei didn’t want Tang Su to say thank you to them, believing that as a mother-in-law it was only right to give something to her future daughter-in-law, but Tang Su, having been well-taught by her own parents, would definitely say it.

When Tang Su learned that Bai Wei and Lu Maoyan had given her a BMW together, she gave them a call.

She called to express her gratitude, Bai Wei accepted her thanks and chatted with her for a while, learning that she had cooked rice, stir-fried a few dishes, and was eating a simple homemade meal with Lu Han.

Bai Wei felt sorry for Tang Su, "Lu Han’s cooking is also delicious, so you can just stick to cooking rice from now on, and let him cook when he gets back."

"It’s fine, I have free time at home anyway, and I might not have as much time after I start minding the store." Tang Su didn’t find cooking the slightest bit difficult.

As long as Lu Han enjoyed the food, she felt it was worthwhile.

"Alright, it’s you two living your little life, as long as you think it’s good, that’s what matters."

While Tang Su and Bai Wei were chatting away and having a great time, Lu Han sat on the sofa, picked up the remote control, turned on the TV, and prepared to wait patiently; that’s when he found the gift from Sun Qing hidden in the sofa crevice.

Seeing the thin layer with lace edges, made of real silk, Lu Han held it in his hands, and the thought of that scene suddenly made his eyes grow deep.

Not until Tang Su ended the call did Lu Han suddenly stuff the lingerie back into the crevice of the sofa. Tang Su saw how close Lu Han was sitting to where she hid the item, feeling a bit flustered for a moment.

She was worried that Lu Han would see the present from that guy Sun Qing; it would be too embarrassing if he did, and she didn’t know how to explain it to him.

Tang Su hoped Lu Han hadn’t seen it.

She carefully observed Lu Han’s facial expression and noticed he seemed utterly calm, as if he hadn’t noticed the thing she had hidden, and Tang Su slowly let out a sigh of relief.

That nightgown, she was definitely not going to wear it, not even if she were to die.

Even though Sun Qing had sent her the shopping receipt along with the nightgown, costing thousands for a single one, just so Tang Su would see the price and feel reluctant to throw it away.

But for that kind of dress, Tang Su was willing to let go.

It still hurt a little, though.

"What were you talking about for so long?" Lu Han came over and took Tang Su’s hand.

"Nothing much, just talking for a bit." The part Tang Su remembered was Bai Wei telling her not to be so formal with them, as they would all be one family soon, and Bai Wei was willing to give her all the good stuff.

For Tang Su, Bai Wei was willing to give, but she felt embarrassed to accept everything.

"Hmm."

The two sat down at the dining table, facing each other, Lu Han served the rice, and Tang Su served the soup.

For dinner, Tang Su had made tomato and fried egg soup, with golden-brown fried eggs, red tomato slices, and a few strands of green bok choy floating on top, making it look particularly appealing.

The eggs were fried by Tang Su to perfection, not only looking but also smelling and tasting delicious; she couldn’t resist having two bowls, and Lu Han did the same.

Tang Su had stir-fried three dishes that evening, one was Kung Pao chicken, another was shredded pork with green peppers, and the last one was lettuce with garlic paste.

The three dishes were just enough for two people, leaving them fully satisfied.

There were two leaves of lettuce left and the chilies from the Kung Pao chicken, which Lu Han threw away when cleaning up.

While Lu Han washed the dishes in the kitchen, Tang Su took the opportunity to hide Sun Qing’s purchased transparent nightdress in the wardrobe of their room.

She really had almost been brought to her knees by that girl.

After Lu Han finished washing the dishes, Tang Su emerged from the room, and Lu Han, with a trash bag in hand, invited her, "Do you want to go out and try the new car?"

Tang Su nodded, "Sure."

"Let’s go."

"Mm."

Tang Su’s periods weren’t painful, which eased Lu Han’s worries a bit. Staying at home, he couldn’t help but think about the things he had discovered earlier, the sensation in his palm, and the images involuntarily forming in his mind.

When she wore it, he felt he might turn into a dangerous wolf.

Restless and overheated at home, he thought it would be better to go out for a walk and let the cool night air dissipate his surging hormones.

"I can take out the trash, Lu Han." Remembering that Lu Han had already washed the dishes, Tang Su reached to take the household garbage from him.

"No need, I’ve got it."

Grabbing her keys and phone and changing her shoes, they opened the door to leave, just as a woman was about to knock, lifting her right hand, and saw that the door was already open.

"Miss Tang, sorry to bother you, do you remember me?" the woman said with an apologetic smile to Tang Su.

Her gaze swept over Lu Han for a second, dazzled by his good looks.

"Mm, I remember, Miss Wei, are your keys locked inside?" Their landlord downstairs didn’t use electronic locks, but traditional key locks. That morning, Tang Feng had come to hand over the keys to the lady now in front of them, named Wei Yingzi, and Tang Su was with him.

The two had naturally met before.

Wei Yingzi worked as a photographer for a well-known magazine called ’Men’s Charm.’ She earned a high salary, had flexible working hours, and was a typical beautiful, rich, and independent woman.

Because she earned a high salary and valued her freedom, she, not being from Hua City, could be counted as part of the backpacking crowd. Even with plenty of money, she didn’t want to settle down by buying a house.

She preferred roaming around, finding a job and renting a place in a new city. If she liked it, she’d stay for a couple of years; if not, she was always ready to quit and leave at any time.

This lifestyle was something Tang Feng and his sister encountered for the first time, but the siblings could understand her choice.

Young, wanting to see more of the world, not wanting to be tied down too soon by a monotonous life—it’s understandable.

Besides, the copy of her ID card that Wei Yingzi had given them showed that she was only twenty-two. In China, that’s just the age for recent graduates, yet she already had three or four years of work experience.

This meant she had started working at eighteen.

Neither sibling probed further; Wei Yingzi had paid three months’ rent and a one-month deposit for a one-year lease.

If she stayed the full year, the deposit would be returned; if not, it wouldn’t. This term was even proposed by Wei Yingzi herself.

Tang Feng felt she was slightly disadvantaged by this agreement. He didn’t want to add it, as he would have returned the deposit regardless of whether she stayed the full year or not.

He didn’t want to be a man taking advantage of a younger woman.

However, Wei Yingzi didn’t mind at all, nor did she see it as being taken advantage of. She was accustomed to renting, and well aware of the unwritten rules.

Having lived both domestically and abroad, having dealt with good and bad landlords and all kinds of people, she had seen it all.

She proposed this condition because she recognized that Tang Feng and his sister were genuinely good people.

And given her fickle nature and the possibility of quitting a job if it didn’t suit her, reimbursing one month’s deposit for any inconvenience or loss caused to others was only right.

"Yes, I went to the supermarket for some daily groceries and realized I didn’t have my keys when I got back. Really sorry to trouble you. You don’t have to give me the keys, just help me open the door downstairs, thank you. Sorry for interrupting your date with your boyfriend."

"Not at all, just wait a moment, I’ll get the keys."

"Okay."
