Chapter 112: 091 This woman really knows how to glorify herself and annoy others (1 more)_1

Lei Wei clutched her off-struck face, disbelief written all over it.

Who does Sun Qing think she is? How dare she hit her?

She was the vice president of the company, and furthermore...

Had Sun Qing eaten the heart of a bear and the gall of a leopard?

"You dare to hit me?" Lei Wei charged forward, mindless of consequences, wishing she could scratch Sun Qing’s collagen-filled face to shreds.

Sun Qing was never one to be bullied or insulted. Lei Wei’s desire to scratch her face was downright malicious.

As soon as Sun Qing realized Lei Wei’s intention, and before Lei Wei could lunge at her, Sun Qing quickly pushed Lei Wei away. This push wasn’t too forceful; Sun Qing’s only goal was to prevent Lei Wei from scratching her.

However, Lei Wei was wearing high heels that she loathed, as she was not tall and usually wore them to see over others and enhance her commanding presence as a leader in her office.

Every time she came to work, after clocking in, she would change into them. The first task of the day was to go to the office hall and give a lecture to all her subordinates.

Clocking in was not enough for the employees; she would call roll during her lectures as well.

Which means the employees had to not only clock in for the company, but also for her. If someone was not present when she arrived, she would find various ways to trouble them that day.

Many young employees, just beginning their careers and introverted in nature, were admonished by their elders to behave, not to offend their superiors, and so they kept their anger silent.

Sun Qing was different.

She represented those who kept their anger to themselves but were dissatisfied with the old hag. She only clocked in for the company and utterly ignored Lei Wei’s attendance.

It didn’t matter to her whether she arrived five minutes, ten minutes, or even half an hour early—she never tried to guess Lei Wei’s thoughts, nor did she cozy up to her to gain favor.

In Sun Qing’s words, Lei Wei was just an old witch whose menopause had arrived early.

Lei Wei knew she had scolded Sun Qing before, but it was useless.

This time, when Sun Qing dared to strike her superior first, Lei Wei was furious. The grudges, old and new, surged forth, and Lei Wei was intent on using this opportunity to give her a good lesson.

But alas, her high heels, usually her means to compensate for her lack of height, were of no help to her now.

Already unsteady on her feet, Lei Wei’s entire body tilted backward from the force of Sun Qing’s push.

As she fell, Lei Wei seemed to remember something, her face turning pale as she pressed a hand to her abdomen, while the other pointed at Sun Qing with an accusing look in her eyes.

With a muffled thud, Lei Wei fell to the shiny floor tiles because of Sun Qing’s push.

Lei Wei’s back was in pain, and then came a sharp agony in her lower belly, plunging her immediately into darkness.

She fainted from overstimulation.

Sun Qing was dumbstruck. Was this woman trying to pull a scam on her?

She had merely pushed her lightly, not enough to cause any serious harm; she certainly hadn’t intended to hurt her. And now, there Lei Wei was, lying motionless on the ground—was she playing dead?

The commotion in the corridor was loud, and Sun Qing’s colleagues who often hung out with her after work—forming a tight-knit group for little team-building activities—were not few.

They did it simply to find joy amidst the bitterness.

Working under Lei Wei was unbearable.

Not everyone had the strong spirit and confidence that Sun Qing possessed.

"Sun Qing, what happened?" Sun Yaoyao, who shared the same surname and worked in Sun Qing’s department, ran over.

"What can happen? Vice President Lei, playing this scam on me is not fair; come on, wake up," Sun Qing said to Lei Wei.

"Qingqing, Sun Qing, blood, is that... blood?" Sun Yaoyao covered her mouth, afraid to speak loudly.

At the mention of blood, Sun Qing was alarmed. Sure enough, the fresh blood gushing out from beneath Lei Wei was a stark contrast against the shining floor tiles.

Sun Qing’s mind went blank.

She... wasn’t setting her up?

She hadn’t really caused a serious accident, had she?

"Quick, dial 120," Sun Qing told Sun Yaoyao.

"Okay."

Sun Yaoyao hurriedly reached into her coat pocket for her cellphone, fumbling in her haste, it clattered to the floor.

That sound struck Sun Qing’s heart hard; the usually fearless Sun Qing was a bit scared at that moment.

Scared that Lei Wei might have lost her life from that push, or even if she survived, what if she ended up paralyzed? Was she supposed to take care of a paralyzed old woman for the rest of her life?

The sky overhead was a clear blue, with warm sunlight shining down, but Sun Qing couldn’t feel any warmth. A chill spread from her core to her skin.

Her limbs were cold, as if she stood in the depths of winter.

Sun Qing called Tang Su, who was worried she might get scolded by her boss and hadn’t slept soundly. The phone rang, and Tang Su picked up. Sun Qing asked Tang Su to call Doctor Lu and briefly explained what had happened on her end.

The main point was the blood. Sun Qing was usually not very emotional, but she was not so indifferent as a person, either, so she was completely shocked by the sight of Lei Wei’s blood.

"Don’t panic, have you called 120?"

"Mhm, I called."

"Good, head to the hospital first, are you going to Huanan Hospital?"

"Yes, the nearest one," Sun Qing said.

"Alright, we’ll meet at the hospital. Don’t worry, I’ll call Lu Han right away. We’ve also got Doctor Bai in the emergency department, nothing to be afraid of, right?" Tang Su was calmly reassuring Sun Qing.

"Mhm, thank you, Tang Bao." Sun Qing’s frantic heart instantly felt much steadier.

The 120 ambulance from Huanan Hospital arrived very fast, not even ten minutes passed before it was at their branch office. The building’s security immediately brought the medics to their floor.

Upon seeing Lei Wei, the accompanying doctor conducted a quick examination on the unconscious Lei Wei, and then had the nurses lift her onto the stretoher. The doctor spoke into his headset to contact Bai Dingxian waiting downstairs, "Old Bai, we’re bringing the patient down. I’m coming down right away."

"Okay," Bai Dingxian responded.

Sun Qing’s mind wasn’t entirely clear, and she failed to recognize Bai Dingxian’s voice.

Old Wan looked at Sun Qing and Sun Yaoyao, "You two young ladies, one of you ride along, and the other contact the injured person’s family."

"I’ll ride along. Yaoyao, notify HR to contact Vice President Lei’s family," Sun Qing said.

"Hmm, okay."

Old Wan led Sun Qing downstairs, where Bai Dingxian, tall and wearing a white coat and mask, stood at the ambulance door. He recognized Sun Qing trailing behind Old Wan at a glance?

Sun Qing didn’t recognize him.

Even as she approached, she didn’t recognize Bai Dingxian.

She asked him in a daze, "Where should I sit?"

"Family members sit in the back," Bai Dingxian replied coldly and numbly, not caring to be recognized by her, unlike his usual tone with the relatives of patients.

Old Wan felt it odd—here was a young girl scared to the point of folly, and yet Old Bai didn’t show a hint of sympathy; why was he being so cold?

"I’m not a family member, but thank you," Sun Qing clarified and thanked him before following the nurse onto the rear seat.

As Old Wan boarded the vehicle and saw that Old Bai hadn’t gotten on yet, he urged him. But then Old Bai stopped Xiaoyao, "Xiaoyao, weren’t you feeling a bit carsick just now? You sit in the front with Old Wan, I’ll be in the back to keep an eye on things for you."

"Really? Thank you, Doctor Bai." The young Xiaoyao’s eyes were filled with grateful tears.

"No problem."

After exchanging places, they quickly boarded, and the driver sped off towards Huanan Hospital.

"How did she become unconscious?" Once in the vehicle, Bai Dingxian asked Sun Qing about the whole incident as if he were an interrogating officer.

With her head down, Sun Qing recounted what happened from beginning to end.

"Two women fighting, what, over a man? Jealous squabbles?" Bai Dingxian asked coolly.

In his eyes, Sun Qing didn’t have a good reputation; to him, she was a typical femme fatale.

Right now, after listening to Sun Qing’s account, Bai Dingxian automatically filled in the blanks with a soap-opera style love and morality drama.

A woman like Sun Qing, who was so capable of ensnaring men’s souls, must have been playing the part of ’the other woman,’ or dipped her toes in an already established relationship and gotten caught red-handed by the original partner, or a proper girlfriend.

When it was time for them to confront her, it turned out Sun Qing was rather formidable, striking first to gain the upper hand, knocking the other person unconscious.

Morals were declining, it should be that those who did wrong would show some guile when facing their victims, being cautious and careful.

But this was indeed the first time he’d seen someone who’d interfered in another’s relationship act so righteously in knocking out the original partner and getting them onto a 120 ambulance.

This woman, undoubtedly, had some skill; she once again opened his eyes.

"No, hey, white-coated angel, have you been watching too many soap operas or what?" Once Sun Qing understood the nonsense Bai Dingxian was implying, she angrily retaliated.

Bai Dingxian: "..."

"Two women fighting? Does it have to be over a man? Does it have to be out of jealousy? Don’t you know men are scoring pretty low with women these days?" Sun Qing retorted fiercely.

Bai Dingxian: "..."

"Divorce rates are high, not because men don’t want to marry but because women don’t want to get married. Are you stuck in the last century? Also, the ’old witch’ lying unconscious here is a leader in my company."

"..."

Bai Dingxian was dumbstruck. This woman was bold—had she really knocked down her leader? Was she not worried about losing her job?

Could she really be that foolish?

"Why couldn’t your drama-filled head consider that she tried to bully me and got valiantly counter-killed by a little employee like me?"

Bai Dingxian: "Pfft..."

Valiantly counter-killed, even?

This woman really had a way of adding glory to herself and trouble to others.

Truly shameless.
