Chapter 110: 089 Get well soon, waiting to eat the sweetest crispy heart candy (Chapter 1 update)_2

Jiang Shanshan did this to warn the women harboring inappropriate thoughts about Lu Han: the man Jiang Shanshan had set her sights on was not someone they could covet and foolishly attempt to snatch from her.

In this large group, with Lu Han absent and Bai Dingxian present, Bai Dingxian saw the shameless words posted by Jiang Shanshan, frowned deeply, looked disgusted, and mumbled to himself discontentedly.

At the time, Lu Han had already picked up Tang Su and left the hospital. Bai Dingxian had been a huge help and insisted on joining them for lunch. Lu Han said they weren’t going to the small tavern and told him to go by himself.

Bai Dingxian said he didn’t want to go to the small tavern either; he wanted to follow them.

Lu Han had no choice; thinking of letting Tang Su finish lunch early, go home, take her medicine, and then continue to rest and sleep, he reluctantly brought along the sticky bur he couldn’t shake off.

After learning why Lu Han had asked that question last night, the knot in Tang Su’s heart unraveled, and together with the bowl of plain white rice porridge from the morning—which even though had sugar added, was really too bland—

So, when Lu Han came off work early to pick her up from the hospital and asked her what she wanted to eat, she blurted out that she wanted to drink chicken soup.

Moreover, she smiled with her eyes, and although her little face was still painfully pale, it was a lot brighter and cheerful.

Lu Han didn’t know the whole process of Tang Su’s struggle, but the change before and after in her was very obvious, and he could sense it.

He didn’t ask, only because he didn’t want to make Tang Su feel too burdened, thinking that this was interrogating her while she was sick. When she was feeling better, he would still look for a chance to understand clearly.

Otherwise, if she suddenly felt down or got angry about something, and every time she was so confused, they would inevitably have problems between them sooner or later.

Problems required timely communication, timely discovery, and timely resolution in order to get better and better.

Lu Han parked the car in front of a shop selling chestnut chicken soup. When Bai Dingxian got out of the car, he rubbed his hands, "Hehe, I really did follow the right people, I get to have chicken soup."

Lu Han was speechless: Had it been eight hundred years since he last drank chicken soup?

Drinking chicken soup, what’s there to be sentimental about?

"No, Tang Su just got over a fever, can she..."

Before he could finish speaking, Lu Han gave him a sharp look, "Hmm, is Tang Su what you should be calling her?"

"Err, sister-in-law?" Bai Dingxian was quick on his feet and immediately corrected himself.

This address of "sister-in-law" added color to Tang Su’s pale little face like rouge and powder, making her cheeks instantly blush.

"No, last night, I don’t know who was pleading with me and Old Tan to keep a secret for him, and even told us to keep it at least for three months," Bai Dingxian reminded them, following behind the couple and pouting.

"Give yourself a chance to think, did I beg?" Lu Han coldly retorted.

It was clearly a reciprocal exchange. Where did he beg them?

Did he ever say a word about begging?

Bai Dingxian: "..."

It wasn’t begging, but it was close to it.

But these words, Bai Dingxian didn’t dare speak out loud for Lu Han to hear.

"So from now on, I’ll call her ’sister-in-law.’ Does that mean I don’t have to keep the secret anymore? There are lots of gossipy grandson types in the hospital; can’t guarantee one of them isn’t a lackey from Beijing."

"Only the three of us are here now."

Bai Dingxian: "..."

Bai Dingxian understood; when it was just the three of them, or when they went to the small tavern, he would have to call Tang Su "sister-in-law," but at other times, he wasn’t allowed to call her Tang Su; was he supposed to call her Miss Tang?

Damn it, three months?

"Don’t let him have a mental breakdown before three months is up."

When they arrived, the boss led them to a private room, where a casserole emitted white steam—the chestnut chicken soup was already boiling. Lu Han had called ahead on his way there, asking the boss to have it ready.

That way, Tang Su could eat as soon as they arrived.

Bai Dingxian still had to be on duty in the afternoon and couldn’t linger too long.

"The service is really damn thoughtful. My aunt would probably burst into tears if she saw this," Bai Dingxian shook his head, no wonder mothers-in-law tend to feel bittersweet when their sons bring home a wife.

Throughout the decades of raising a son, it’s always been the mother who looks after him. But what happens when he grows up? He starts taking care of the wife instead and doesn’t think about repaying his old mother.

How could it not be bittersweet?

It’s not the daughter-in-law’s fault; it’s that the sons don’t know how to act.

As a result, all the mothers-in-law misdirect their anger. The son does nothing wrong, yet they take it out on the daughter-in-law, creating the age-old, unsolvable mother-in-law and daughter-in-law issue.

In reality, if you just pull on the son’s ear and give him a good scolding and beating, the age-old issue would naturally disappear.

The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law could go shopping together, eat together, drink together, and then join forces in complaining about the same man. If they treated the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship like a friendship, where would there be any conflict?

Lu Han ignored Bai Dingxian’s solo mumbling. He served a bowl of chicken soup, cooled it down a bit, and then placed it in front of Tang Su, "Slightly cool it and then drink, have it warm enough to sweat a little."

"Mmm."

Tang Su obediently drank three large bowls of chicken soup while it was still warm, ate two drumsticks, one chicken wing, a chicken foot, and two tender pieces of chicken meat.

In the end, Lu Han blanched some seasonal vegetables given by the boss for Tang Su to eat, making her feel warm throughout her body as if she instantly came back to life at full health.

Still, even after finishing the chicken soup, Tang Su asked Lu Han to take her back home, and Lu Han told her not to go to Culture Street today and to inform them that they could close up early.

Tang Su obediently agreed.

Lu Han was on the day shift today and still had three hours of work in the afternoon. After settling Tang Su in, he kissed her forehead and her long eyelashes fluttered.

"What would you like to eat tonight? I’ll buy groceries after work and cook them," Lu Han said.

"You can cook?" Tang Su asked in disbelief, her eyes wide.

"What else? You really think your boyfriend doesn’t eat mortal food?"

Tang Su blushed: "..."

"Can I have some spicy hotpot then?" Tang Su timidly asked. When she was feeling feverish and had a cold, Tang Su actually did not crave bland food—she wanted some meat, something with a strong flavor.

"Better not have spicy hotpot for now. When you’re well, we’ll go eat at the snack street. Though they don’t have that, we can try some bobo chicken," he said.

"Wow, what a great boyfriend," Tang Su praised him, giving him a thumbs up.

The hand she extended was captured by Lu Han, who then tucked her back into bed, "Don’t catch a draft now, sleep a little. If you’re very good and sleep until you wake up, your boyfriend will be back."

"Mmm, bye boyfriend."

"Bye."

Just before leaving, Lu Han couldn’t resist and left a kiss on Tang Su’s lips, his gaze intensively saying, "Get well soon, waiting to taste the sweetest crunchy candy."

Tang Su: "..."
