"Dad, I’ve arranged a place for us in the county town. Would you like to come and stay with Aunt Yun for a while?" said Nan Feng as he munched on his sweet potato.

Nan Quanyou was quite interested and felt that staying for a few days wouldn’t hurt. However, Lin Qiaoyun absolutely refused to return to the county town. She now truly considered Daping Village her hometown and wanted to take root here, refusing to go anywhere else.

So, Nan Quanyou said, "Let’s forget it, I’m not used to living in the city. Staying in Daping Village is better. Besides, our new house is under construction, right? I need to keep a close eye on it. Once it’s built, you can come back and stay for a few days whenever you have time."

Nan Feng could only agree.

Not long after breakfast, Fuge’s voice rang from outside, "Brother Ye is here!"

Nan Feng looked into the courtyard and saw Brother Ye had already arrived at their doorstep, driving a horse-drawn cart. He was tall, and his movements as he handled the cart were natural and fluent, making him look extraordinarily charming.

Having an arranged marriage meant he had become her "husband". With this thought, Nan Feng’s heartbeat quickened.

Brother Ye came to take Nan Feng back to the town. The local conditions were still unstable, and it was beneficial to return as soon as possible.

When Nan Feng had returned to Daping Village, she brought along many bundles. Now, as she returned to the county town, she once again had bundles of things with her. Lin Qiaoyun and Nan Quanyou packed a large bag of sweet potatoes, fresh vegetables from the farm field and dried fish for her.

Brother Ye also had many parcels, all of which were collected from Second Uncle Zhou’s three sons’ homes and included fresh vegetables, cassava, and dried peanuts.

Once Nan Feng was on the cart, she began to yawn, "Brother Ye, I didn’t sleep well last night. I’m going to catch up on some sleep."

Then, she lay back in the wagon, reclining against the pile of produce.

She must have been truly tired because, with Brother Ye driving the cart, she felt completely at ease. As she relaxed, she fell into a deep slumber.

She didn’t know how much time had passed, but she felt the cart stop, and then someone draped a jacket around her. Opening her eyes, she saw Brother Ye looking at her with concern. He gently patted her head, signaling her to go back to sleep peacefully.

So, she closed her eyes again. She felt Brother Ye kiss her forehead.

The cart began to move again. But Nan Feng was no longer sleepy. She tightened the jacket around herself which belonged to Brother Ye. She took a sniff and it smelled like sunshine.

It was midday, with the sun at its peak, hence the jacket had a sun-kissed scent.

Nan Feng decided not to sleep anymore. She got out of the wagon and joined Brother Ye upfront, resting her head on his shoulder, "Are you tired? If you are, let me drive for a while."

She yawned again.

Brother Ye smiled, "I’m not tired. Instead, you should sleep a little longer. I will wake you up when we reach the county town."

"No more sleep for me. Spending time sleeping in such a warm afternoon feels such a waste. All I want now is to spend time with you."

"Good, I also wish you could accompany me, my lady."
