Chapter 245: Watching You
Chapter 245: Chapter 245: Watching You
Little girl, you’re impressive, no doubt about it, being close to Shen Jingrou has made you equally infuriating.
"Yinyin?" An Ying looked at her daughter’s dazed expression and spoke again.
An Yin stared at the man for a few seconds before exclaiming, "It’s you."
Lin Yue’s forehead furrowed even deeper; as expected, the girl hadn’t recognized him earlier.
He spoke kindly, "Weren’t you going upstairs? This elevator isn’t crowded." With that, he walked towards the private elevator.
After thinking it over, An Yin concluded that the person was inviting her to ride the elevator together, then she turned to look at Ms. An, her expression seemingly asking, "Should we take his elevator?"
An Ying couldn’t care much about it, seeing the elevators still going up, she finally compromised since her daughter had gotten wet from the rain, "Let’s go."
"Okay."
As they moved, they could feel eager gazes following them from behind.
Lin Yue was the first to step inside the elevator, followed by An Ying and her daughter. The men waiting outside the elevator skillfully refrained from entering after catching Lin Yue’s narrowed gaze.
The elevator doors closed.
Only then did Lin Yue notice the lady standing next to the little girl, seeing as they looked somewhat alike, he didn’t say much.
"Which floor are you going to?" Lin Yue pressed the top floor button and then turned to the two behind him.
"Nineteenth floor, thank you!" An Ying looked at the man in front, giving a polite smile.
Lin Yue noticed the nineteenth floor was the hotel and his eyes grew introspective.
An Ying and her daughter stood on one side, while Lin Yue stood across from them; from An Ying’s view, the man seemed quite remarkable. The clothes he wore appeared expensive, and both his actions and demeanor suggested he was no ordinary person. An Ying lowered her gaze, a shade of gloom passing over her mind.
Lin Yue knew the lady beside the little girl was observing him, but he didn’t mind.
This elevator did not stop at any other floor and quickly reached their level.
When the elevator door opened, An Yin, who hadn’t spoken, looked up sincerely and said, "Thank you."
"Not at all," Lin Yue responded.
An Yin led Ms. An out of the elevator until the doors closed.
An Ying seriously observed her daughter, not missing any expression on her face, "What is your relationship with him?"
"He and I aren’t close." After An Yin said this, noticing Ms. An’s gaze still on her, she helplessly added, "I have a friend, and that man is my friend’s younger brother."
After saying this, An Yin felt there might be a problem with her explanation, but thinking it over, Sister Jingrou did say this man was her husband’s younger brother, so her introduction wasn’t wrong.
Seeing her daughter didn’t seem to be lying, An Ying let it go.
However, the man just now looked like he was about thirty, so wouldn’t her daughter’s friend be even older?
An Ying didn’t want to interfere excessively in her daughter’s matters.
Upon reaching the hotel front desk, An Ying booked a king-sized bed room.
Inside the room, An Yin was pushed into the bathroom by her mother.
"Wash your hair first, then take a hot shower." An Ying stood by the bathroom door, reminding her daughter.
"Got it."
An Yin’s voice came from within the bathroom.
Seeing this, An Ying went to the bedside to raise the room’s temperature.
At this moment, a sound came from the bathroom.
"Mom, my period started, and I forgot to bring sanitary pads." She had rushed to see Ms. An and forgot to take sanitary pads out of her backpack, handing it to Jiang Keke instead.
"Keep washing, I’ll go buy some." An Ying came to the door, "Don’t open the door easily, make sure it’s me, got it?"
Though her daughter was in college, in An Ying’s eyes, she was still a little girl unaware of worldly matters.
"Got it," An Yin replied.
Only after this could An Ying relax, opening the door and leaving.
Going downstairs and waiting for the elevator took quite some time, but luckily there were many convenience stores in the mall. After buying sanitary pads, An Ying also bought some snacks.
It took over an hour for her to go back up.
Grabbing the sanitary pads, An Yin went directly to the bathroom.
When she came out, she saw An Ying drinking a bottle of mineral water.
"Mom, you should also take a shower." An Yin’s hair was mostly dry, now she was dressed in a white bathrobe. Seeing the bag of snacks on the desk corner, her eyes lit up, and she walked to the desk in her long slippers.
Watching her daughter’s greedy look, An Ying felt a wave of warmth in her heart, "Eat less, we’ll go out for dinner after I finish showering."
"Okay, okay." An Yin nodded perfunctorily from behind.
Seeing this, An Ying headed to the bathroom.
After finishing her shower, she took a hairdryer to dry both their wet coats.
When everything was done, An Ying came to the desk, seeing the trash bin filled with plastic bags, and the meager amount of snacks left on the desk, she sighed heavily, "Your stomach isn’t good, if you eat too much of these things, don’t complain about a stomachache later."
"I won’t," An Yin stubbornly insisted.
An Ying packed the remaining snacks into a bag and placed them aside, "Let’s go, let’s have dinner."
It was her fault, knowing her daughter liked to snack, she still bought some before dinner.
"Okay." Hearing about dinner, An Yin immediately perked up.
An Ying went to get the coat, carefully helping her daughter put it on, and noted her daughter’s long hair, "Tie a ponytail."
"Mom, help me." An Yin excitedly went to the bathroom to get a comb and handed it to An Ying.
Looking at the comb in her hand, An Ying paused, "Sit on the bed."
An Yin sat down obediently.
Coming to her daughter’s back, An Ying lifted her daughter’s soft hair, a slight sadness passing through her.
In the blink of an eye, the little girl who once babbled had grown into a young lady; as her emotions welled up, An Yin felt Ms. An’s stillness behind her was unsettling.
"Mom, do you have anything to do here this time?" An Yin thought of the "friend" Ms. An mentioned before; was she here to find that "friend" again?
"Just wanted to see you," An Ying adjusted her mood.
An Yin didn’t suspect, "I miss you, too, Mom." Her voice was soft and sweet, sounding spoiled.
The ponytail was soon done; An Yin looked refreshed but slightly pale, as she had been frail since childhood, and no amount of nurturing helped.
"Let’s go." An Ying picked up her coat and put it on.
An Yin hopped eagerly to Ms. An’s side, affectionately holding her arm, "Let’s go together."
"You!" An Ying extended her hand and gently tapped her daughter’s nose.
"Hehe..."
An Ying pulled out the room card, slipping it into her pocket as the two left the room.
