Chapter 237: Chapter 237: He Will Appear Tonight

An Yin spoke from her heart, being sick was her own matter, and if Jiang Keke was willing to help her, it was out of kindness. Moreover, Keke indeed had something come up; this New Year’s Eve show carried their class’s honor, and An Yin completely understood her.

"Yinyin, you’re the best!" Jiang Keke’s voice had a trace of a coquettish tone.

Before Jiang Keke could finish speaking, a man’s voice sounded, "Still not done talking?"

An Yin recognized it was Bao Cheng’s voice. Sensing the situation, she quickly said, "Keke, I need to sleep, goodnight!"

"Goodnight!"

After hanging up, An Yin sat there blankly for a while.

Thinking about Jiang Keke and Bao Cheng’s relationship, An Yin found it quite absurd. Since they both harbored ulterior motives regarding this relationship, she decided not to involve herself in their affairs in the future.

T University’s New Year’s Eve event proceeded as scheduled.

That night, the campus was cheerful. Every corner was filled with students’ joyful smiles. With more than an hour before the event, many people were already heading to the auditorium.

All the streetlights on campus were turned on, and with darkness approaching, cheerful music played over the school broadcast, bringing an especially delightful mood.

An Yin came out of the restroom, and seeing Shi Qing engrossed at her desk, couldn’t help but ask, "Aren’t you going?"

Shi Qing reacted a bit late, taking a few seconds before realizing An Yin was speaking to her. She turned her head, "Too noisy, I don’t like it."

"Alright then, I’m off." An Yin quite liked Shi Qing’s straightforwardness; when it came to things she didn’t like, she wouldn’t force herself to fit in.

"Mm." Shi Qing nodded calmly.

An Yin had promised Jiang Keke to watch her dance, but when going too early, it would be quite boring just waiting in the auditorium. After pondering a bit, An Yin decided to visit the school’s pharmacy first, as she needed to return a box of medicine borrowed from Shi Qing.

The dormitory was now filled only with the sound of Shi Qing flipping through her notes.

"Ding..."

A sound came from the phone on the desk. Shi Qing initially intended to ignore it, but for some reason felt compelled to pick it up. Upon reading the message, she quickly stood up, grabbed her coat from the chair back and put it on in haste, all while keeping her eyes on the message.

[Wait at the "Qin Land" gate, he will appear tonight.]

Another anonymous message from that mysterious person.

Phone in hand, Shi Qing saw An Yin not far off as soon as she stepped into the corridor and hurriedly called out, "An Yin..."

Hearing her name, An Yin stopped in her tracks and saw Shi Qing coming toward her breathlessly, "What’s up? You want to go to the auditorium too?" An Yin’s face showed a bit of excitement; after all, it would be boring sitting alone watching the show, and having a companion would make it more enjoyable with chat.

"No." Shi Qing urgently said, "I want to ask you for a favor?"

An Yin looked at her, puzzled, not knowing how she could help.

"What’s the matter?"

"I want to go to ’Qin Land,’ but I can’t get in there. I want to ask a friend of yours for help." Unless it was absolutely necessary, Shi Qing didn’t want to owe An Yin a favor, but she was left with no options. She didn’t want to miss any clues concerning her sister.

An Yin slightly lowered her head, frowning with a slightly anxious expression.

Seeing the look on An Yin’s face, Shi Qing quickly realized she had been too impulsive, "Sorry, I didn’t think this through. I’ll figure it out myself." Shi Qing knew she had no other choice but to ask An Yin, yet she didn’t want to trouble her.

"Let me make a call first." An Yin knew Shi Qing’s character well enough—if it weren’t urgent, she would never ask for help easily.

Shi Qing hesitated as she looked at her, feeling conflicted; she didn’t want to bother An Yin, but an inner voice urged her to find out who hurt her sister.

After being silent for a while, Shi Qing said quietly, "Okay."

Seeing Shi Qing’s anxious demeanor, An Yin dared not delay and quickly took out her phone, dialed the number, and made the call.

After four rings, the call connected.

An Yin held her phone tightly, maintaining a guarded posture, silence engulfing her ears, leaving her too timid to speak.

"What is it?"

The man’s low voice came through the phone.

Hearing his voice made An Yin inexplicably anxious.

"Bao Shaojin, I’d like to ask you a favor." Such a simple sentence, yet she spoke haltingly.

Shi Qing stood beside her, finding An Yin’s timid display puzzling, but she didn’t overthink it, only waiting patiently for An Yin’s answer.

"Go ahead."

An Yin knew Bao Shaojin was a man of few words.

"My friend wants to go to ’Qin Land.’" After finishing, An Yin held her breath, waiting for the man’s response.

"Now?"

Hearing his question, An Yin covered the phone with one hand and whispered to Shi Qing, "Do you want to go now?"

Shi Qing nodded repeatedly.

What they didn’t realize was that An Yin’s soft whisper was heard by the man on the other end as well.

"She wants to go now." An Yin withdrew her hand.

"Come out now."

The man dropped the words and hung up.

An Yin froze for a moment, contemplating the man’s use of "you," realizing he meant she must go as well?

"So, how did it go?" Shi Qing asked anxiously, seeing An Yin’s confused expression.

An Yin replied with a silly expression, "He said we should go out now."

"But weren’t you going to watch the event?" Shi Qing frowned.

"I..." Remembering her promise to Jiang Keke, An Yin thought that if she broke it, Keke would surely be upset!

"I can just take a taxi by myself." Shi Qing suggested.

An Yin’s face was full of hesitation. Still, remembering Bao Shaojin’s cold expression and his use of "you," made her realize he likely meant she must go as well. To be on the safe side, An Yin ultimately decided to join Shi Qing.

"Let’s go together, come on!"

Shi Qing looked at her with hesitation but followed closely.

Upon reaching the campus gate, Shi Qing was about to open it when An Yin stopped her. Though she couldn’t explain why, she felt that Bao Shaojin’s car was probably parked around the corner near the school gate.

Shi Qing looked at An Yin in confusion. After walking a bit further, Shi Qing indeed saw that flashy car again, her heart sinking.

Could it be that the man appeared here within minutes? Or had this car been parked here all along? Shi Qing, sharp-minded as always, was able to trace the crux of the matter.

She had hundreds of thoughts swirling inside yet remained silent, unwilling to speak rashly. The last time she met the man, his powerful aura gave off a sense of aloof indifference!
