Chapter 600: Chapter 442: Hoarding Thousands upon Thousands for Natural Disasters, Raising a Child, I Let It Go 30

“I really want to know what hands taste like in a child’s eyes,” Wen Qingyu lazily lay beside the plump Little Xiangsheng. He reluctantly pulled his hand out of the baby’s mouth again and looked up at Su Zhiruan, “He keeps gnawing on his hands.”

Little Xiangsheng had no idea what his dad was talking about, but he could smile, so he waved his little hands and kicked his chubby legs, laughing with a wide-open mouth.

“Too bad I couldn’t find the teething ring,” Su Zhiruan moved to lie on the other side, facing Wen Qingyu. She wiped the drooling baby’s mouth and extended a finger towards him. Watching him joyfully grab her finger and then, seizing the opportunity when Wen Qingyu wasn’t paying attention, she grabbed his too. Su Zhiruan sighed, “Let him chew. It’s good for him to practice biting.”

Little Xiangsheng had no idea what they were talking about. He just stared with his beautiful round eyes—shiny as black grapes—first at his dad, then his mom, and finally narrowed his eyes and smiled.

“By the time this little guy grows up, we will be old,” Wen Qingyu said, looking at Little Xiangsheng’s plump face.

Seemingly finding something more interesting, Little Xiangsheng then released both their hands.

Su Zhiruan lay flat, “It’s okay. We’re living the old married couple’s life now.”

“Who knows, later on, we might even need to take care of grandchildren, Mr. Wen, keep it up,” she said with a crafty smile, curving her brows.

Wen Qingyu’s gaze darkened. He suddenly sat up and before Little Xiangsheng could react, moved him from the big bed to the crib.

He blinked, his arms and legs stopped flailing, seemingly unsure why he was suddenly in a new place.

But a new place meant new interesting things to find.

Wen Qingyu moved so quickly, Su Zhiruan just closed her eyes and then felt a weight descend upon her.

“Your son is still here,” Su Zhiruan pushed him with her hand.

Wen Qingyu caught her flailing wrist and said with a laugh, “He can’t see us.”

“…but we can see our son,” Su Zhiruan added.

Wen Qingyu took a deep breath and, following his gaze, sure enough, turned his head to see his son chewing on his hand again, then curiously watching them.

They say smiles don’t disappear; they just move from one face to another.

Seeing Wen Qingyu, a grown man, halted by the curious gaze of a chubby hand-chewing boy, Su Zhiruan couldn’t help but laugh uncontrollably.

See, people change. Even Wen Qingyu can be humbled in front of his son.

Wen Qingyu stood up and once again pulled Little Xiangsheng’s hand out of his mouth.

When he looked up, he saw Su Zhiruan smiling and tilting her head, watching the father and son.

For a moment, he still felt his throat dry and his blood rushing.

She had recovered very well after giving birth, and she was even more eye-catching now.

Before, she had been younger than him, not yet twenty.

So now, Su Zhiruan, having a child, radiated a saintly maternal aura, her curves fuller, coupled with her natural freshness and beauty, nearly everyone couldn’t help but take a second look.

And this, he had long confirmed.

“Ruanruan, save your energy,” Wen Qingyu picked up their child and smiled slightly at her, “After all, we have the whole night ahead of us.”

Su Zhiruan: “…”

That night.

It was indeed a thorough battle.

Although during Su Zhiruan’s pregnancy, they also had their passionate moments, they dared not be too intense. Wen Qingyu was anxious about her and the baby, always stopping short, slow and gentle, having the broth but not the meat.

Later on, Wen Qingyu devoted himself entirely to studying prenatal care and postnatal nursing, gradually setting aside complete physical union, finding other ways to satisfy the cravings.

But now, Little Xiangsheng was already three months old.

The starving wolf reemerged, back and forth, fiercely and rapidly, even to the point that Su Zhiruan, when looking down, thought she saw afterimages.

But soon, she couldn’t reflect on it anymore, her mind blank, as if all the content had been dragged into the recycling bin.

“Downstairs… they’re still…,” Su Zhiruan’s voice faded in and out, she leaned against the wall and opened her eyes, “Grandpa and Grandma are… still reading picture books to your son… ah…”

“So we should keep it down,” Wen Qingyu nodded earnestly and turned her around while making a “shush” gesture with one hand, “It’ll be over quickly.”

This quick reassurance might just have been a psychological comfort.

Su Zhiruan nodded, thinking it was all over.

But when she felt it again, she was shocked.

“It’ll be over quickly,” Wen Qingyu repeated.

In the end, her conclusion was.

Men, not trustworthy.
