Overlord: Welcoming the Birth of the King
Chapter 64: A Deal? A Hero of the Tribe?

Agu?

Seeing that the Large Goblin Muto and this newly appeared small Large Goblin actually knew each other, especially that somewhat familiar name, Tang Zheng narrowed his eyes slightly, barely perceptible, carefully examining the Large Goblin called Agu.

Agu from the Jike Tribe?

This was a minor character who appeared in the animation. Compared to the other Large Goblins who looked dull and only slightly smarter than ordinary Goblins, this Large Goblin named Agu displayed intelligence comparable to that of a normal human.

Tang Zheng seriously observed him, a rare occurrence, and found that apart from being younger, Agu’s appearance wasn’t much different from other Large Goblins.

He was far less distinctive and different than the portrayal in the animation.

At least, Tang Zheng felt that the appearances of these Large Goblins were pretty much the same.

Rustle!

Rustle!

At this moment, two Large Goblins following behind Agu crawled out of the grass. Seeing Tang Zheng’s expressionless, cold gaze, an inexplicable chill ran through them, and they instinctively took a step back.

"Hu-human," stuttered the Large Goblin with a fearful tone.

Despite the human before them looking so frail!

Not to mention the Ogre Lords, even the arms of young Ogres were thicker than this human’s thighs, yet this human simply stood there.

The stuttering Large Goblin’s skin broke out in goosebumps, as if facing the powerful Ogre Lords they had only ever glimpsed from afar.

An unexplainable fear surged within.

"Sir! They are people from our tribe."

The Large Goblin Muto lay on the ground, propping himself up with both hands on his shoulders, looking at Tang Zheng with fear, swallowing nervously before speaking with extreme tension:

"They are not those lowly Goblins."

He was afraid Tang Zheng would treat them the same as those lowly Goblins and kill Agu and the others with one sword.

Agu’s legs tightened. He quickly dropped to his knees, supporting himself with both arms on the ground, bowing his head heavily onto the decayed leaves.

"Human sir, we come from the depths of the forest, the Jike Tribe—not lowly Goblins."

Agu’s voice trembled, and he started stammering nervously. "Sir, please spare Brother Muto’s life. We are willing to offer precious things."

Agu’s words reminded the Large Goblins behind him.

These two Large Goblins hurriedly took down the huge wooden baskets on their backs and placed them in front of them, then knelt down in panic alongside Agu.

"Oh?"

Tang Zheng showed a hint of surprise and amusement at the actions of these Large Goblins, turning his head to look at the Large Goblin Muto lying on the ground.

"It seems your status in your tribe is not low."

"Of course, sir."

"I am a hero of the tribe."

Hearing Tang Zheng’s words, the Large Goblin Muto showed no humility at all. His awkward green face revealed a proud expression.

A hero?

Tang Zheng chuckled lightly, stepping forward, his gaze landing on the two large wooden baskets placed before Agu.

One basket was piled with various medicinal herbs. Many of the roots still had dried soil attached, clearly picked not long ago.

The other basket was filled with oddly shaped mushrooms, mostly blue in color, looking very strange and seemingly poisonous.

Medicinal herbs? Mushrooms?

Tang Zheng raised an eyebrow, a half-smile appearing on his face as he looked at the kneeling Agu. "You’re smart, even smarter than I expected."

Although Tang Zheng didn’t recognize these herbs and strange mushrooms, he knew these items were definitely gathered from the depths of the Great Tob Forest.

Their value outside must not be low.

However, for the Large Goblin tribe of the Jike Tribe living deep in the Great Tob Forest, these things were not considered highly valuable items.

This was not to say Agu was playing any tricks.

On the contrary!

This Large Goblin Agu was very clear about which items held high value in human society.

Speaking honestly, a tribe like the Jike Tribe, living deep in the jungle with survival already a problem, wouldn’t have anything humans would fancy.

Most importantly,

Agu’s way of handling things was noticeably different from most other demi-human tribes. This kind of trading behavior was quite surprising.

It was not just a matter of intelligence.

Agu, hearing Tang Zheng’s compliment, still did not dare to look up. He did not know why this powerful human suddenly praised him.

However, he was now certain that the medicinal herbs he offered pleased this human warrior.

Phew—

Agu’s tense nerves relaxed slightly. He felt his guess was correct.

After hearing from those fleeing Goblins deep in the forest that Brother Muto was captured but not killed by humans,

Agu speculated that while humans might dislike Goblins, they had no hostility toward their Large Goblins.

After all,

In the eyes of the Large Goblins, Goblins and Large Goblins were completely different species!

Thinking this,

Agu felt that since this powerful human liked the forest’s medicinal herbs, maybe he could use them to establish a connection.

Only… he wondered who was stronger—the human warrior or the Ogre Lords?

Probably the Ogre Lords were stronger.

Various thoughts flashed through Agu’s mind.

"What about the Ogre Lords deep in the forest?" A calm voice sounded, reaching the ears of the kneeling Agu.

The sudden question made Agu instinctively raise his head and look toward Tang Zheng, who stood not far ahead, arms crossed, calmly looking down at him.

The tall figure made Agu’s heart tremble.

He quickly lowered his head again.

"Sir…"

Agu stammered, clearly not understanding the meaning behind Tang Zheng’s words.

"So many Goblins have died in the outskirts, and the commotion I caused recently isn’t small either."

"Even your Large Goblins know about it. The Ogre Lords can’t be unaware, right?"

Tang Zheng tapped his arm with a finger and asked.

Regarding the Ogre Lords who ruled this area deep in the forest, Tang Zheng had very little information. He planned to gather some intelligence from Agu.

"They know, sir."

Agu hurried to answer, recalling the scene when he sought help, his face showing weariness and disappointment:

"No matter how many Goblins die, they’re just cannon fodder to the Ogre Lords. It doesn’t matter how many perish."

They don’t care?

Tang Zheng’s eyes flashed slightly.

During this time, he had been worried that his actions might attract the Ogre Lords deep in the forest, so he had tried to stay in the outermost area.

Now hearing Agu’s answer, Tang Zheng suddenly realized he had been overly cautious.

Thinking carefully,

With the Ogre Lords’ arrogant and overbearing personalities, they didn’t even care about the Bone King who had visited them and had been easily repelled twice, failing to grasp the gap between them.

Such a rough temperament indeed wouldn’t care about the deaths of many Goblins on the forest’s outskirts.

He should have just gone all out from the start.

Tang Zheng subtly shook his head, then continued asking, "Tell me about the situation deep in the jungle, and everything about the Ogre Lords."

At this moment, Agu understood that this human wanted to investigate the Ogre Lords.

Faced with the inquiry,

Agu did not hide anything but instead revealed all the information he knew.

If possible!

He desperately hoped that this human could deal with those detestable Ogre Lords.

After learning more detailed intelligence about the Ogre Lords, a satisfied smile appeared on Tang Zheng’s face.

He had gained a lot.

Next time he came to the Great Tob Forest, he would have more confidence to face those Ogre Lords.

Tang Zheng raised his hand, waved it toward the two large wooden baskets on the ground, and they disappeared into his item inventory.

Agu carefully lifted his head, watching the baskets vanish into thin air. His round eyes widened involuntarily, his face showing shock.

Disappeared?

So amazing!

Is this some kind of magical item ability?
