Chapter 498: Little Tricks at the Cocktail Party 4 Chapter 498: Little Tricks at the Cocktail Party 4 After a few turns, Victoria Garcia and Arnold Johnson bumped into each other again.
When the music changed, Victoria and Arnold tried their best to dance across from each other. They exchanged smiles, and in the moment the music changed, Arnold quickly pulled her close to him, afraid she would be snatched away by someone else.
“I never thought I could be so good at this,” Victoria’s heart sweetened, and her words became more carefree.
“So that pretty boy has his eyes on you?” Arnold couldn’t help but sour a little.
Victoria looked at him happily, “Of course not.”
“Then why did you say that?”
“Because of you!” Victoria took the initiative to say, getting closer to him while talking.
Loving someone should be like this; having eyes and heart filled with their presence, wanting to be more intimate when with them.
“Really? Now you tell me.” Arnold was full of interest.
“When I was dancing with other men, your gaze came over countless times. Although you looked like you weren’t looking my way, your eyes could deceive others but not me!” Victoria confidently said.
“Then tell me, why didn’t it fool you?”
“Because I was the one being looked at. When you watch me, of course I’ll feel it. Even if it is unintentional, that feeling of being seen can’t be avoided.”
“It seems I underestimated you!” Arnold laughed and put a little more force around her waist.
Victoria looked at him tenderly and asked softly, “Is it because I am in your heart that you underestimated me?”
Arnold held her tightly in his arms and spun around happily.
Nothing could be more blissful than this; his little girl’s heart now filled with his shadow.
What surprised him even more was that Victoria’s attitude towards love was the same as his. Once in love, they were both passionate, persistent, and devoted.
“What’s the name of that pretty boy?” Arnold asked again about the man who had danced with Victoria.
Men also have their own intuition, especially now, as that pretty boy’s gaze always unintentionally comes to them.
“I think his name is Edward Hernandez.” Victoria asked back, “Don’t you know him?”
“I don’t.” Arnold didn’t remember knowing him, “There doesn’t seem to be any famous people with the surname Hernandez in Metropolis. I need to check his background when I get back.”
“You don’t have to be so nervous.” Victoria wanted to ease his mind.
But Arnold was thinking of something else, “I won’t let any suspicious person off the hook.”
Victoria understood his meaning, but she didn’t see it the same way, “I don’t even know him, so it probably isn’t him.”
“Better safe than sorry. After all these years, who knows if he has changed his appearance? What if you have met before but you just don’t remember? Or he used a different hypnosis method to remove himself from your memory?” Arnold was now checking all suspicious individuals.
“It’s a pity that you aren’t solving crimes. You’re a wasted talent.” Victoria was deeply impressed by his ability to make inferences.
However, Arnold’s words were not impossible.
If something so unusual had happened to her, what else was impossible?
“Being your private detective would be the best use of my talents.” He whispered into her ear, gently nibbling it.
Victoria couldn’t help but itch and almost pushed Arnold away, laughing.
Fortunately, Arnold’s arms had enough strength to hold her.
