Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please!
Chapter 491 - 491 Reject Proposal 2

Chapter 491: Reject Proposal 2 Chapter 491: Reject Proposal 2 “Because another woman still holds a place in your heart, I don’t want to spend a lifetime with a husband whose heart is divided,” Aubree Field confessed. She loved deeply and unashamedly. Yet, she was proud, clear-sighted in all matters. If they married because of this, he would gain temporary relief, she would obtain the lover of her dreams, but only time would tell whether such a marriage would be happy.

If that was the case, she would rather not rush things. She could wait for him, just not now.

“You have to believe me, some things aren’t that easy to let go of, but time gradually heals all wounds. As for Victoria, whether in the past or present, she’s hard to forget, but she is married to another man. As long as she is happy, I am content,” Alexander Mitchell laid bare his feelings, seriously explaining, “As for me, with so much life ahead, I will naturally find my place. I promise you, I will seriously handle our relationship and manage it well.”

“If that’s the case, then let’s leave everything to time. If Victoria is out of the picture and you can fall in love with me, then we can always get married later,” Aubree’s eyes seemed translucent as she looked to one side, “If without Victoria, you still don’t love me, then why should we hurry to get married now? It is better to approach this matter more rationally now than suffer in the future.”

She had never planned to manipulatively use their child as leverage with Alexander. She couldn’t precipitously accept his marriage proposal when she knew he still didn’t love her.

While listening to her words, Alexander’s heart was left with a hint of bitterness.

He had just realized that he truly didn’t understand Aubree. She was even more compassionate than he thought. She was rejecting him because she could see that he was acting more out of guilt than anything else.

“I’m sorry, Aubree!” Alexander once again felt guilty, “I was too impatient, I didn’t realize the full extent of the situation as thoroughly as you did.”

Aubree just smiled, not saying a word in response.

At that moment, Aubree Field’s parents rushed in, together with Alexander’s own parents.

Alexander stood up and respectfully greeted Aubree’s parents.

After Aubree’s parents nodded in acknowledgment, they headed straight to Aubree’s bedside.

“Aubree, how are you? Does it still hurt?” Aubree’s mother broke into tears at the sight of her daughter.

As a male, Aubree’s dad did not shed tears easily. But the worry and sorrow evident in his eyes were overwhelming.

“Mom, I’m okay,” Aubree reassured her mother.

But her mother wouldn’t be easily fooled, “I will have you transferred to another hospital later. This one is too small; you won’t be able to get proper rest.”

“Just relax; I will make sure to take good care of you so no health problems are left unchecked. It’s crucial that women try not to have any lingering ailments. Do you understand?”

As she spoke, Aubree’s mother started crying again.

Meanwhile, Alexander’s parents pulled him aside outside the room.

“I’m asking you, is the baby in Aubree’s stomach yours?” demanded Brittany Campbell, Alexander’s mother.

Alexander didn’t deny, replying directly, “Yes, it is.”

“You…you…” Brittany pointed at her son, too outraged to form coherent words.

How could her son keep such a thing a secret from them? Did he no longer consider them his parents?
