Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please! -
Chapter 445 - 445 Dismount Show of Power 4
Chapter 445: Dismount Show of Power 4 Chapter 445: Dismount Show of Power 4 Soon after Mrs. Lewis got up, the servant who first brought Victoria Garcia to meet Grand Lady Johnson reappeared.
“Miss Garcia, I found you here.” The servant smiled a little awkwardly, but still tried hard to squeeze out a smile as she continued, “Grand Lady Johnson is about finished with her business and has sent me to bring you to her.”
“Sorry, I felt a bit cold in the small living room, so I came out for a walk, and I happened to meet Mrs. Lewis and asked her for a cup of hot tea instead.” Victoria spoke frankly.
The servant didn’t expect Victoria to be so straightforward and not hide her feelings at all.
Usually, if someone wanted to get into the Johnson Family’s home, they would have to endure all sorts of grievances. But Victoria was different; she directly told her that the room they arranged for the guests was too cold, and that no one served her hot tea, so she had to ask someone else. This comment was an implicit accusation of their hospitality.
The servant apologized, “I’m sorry, Miss Garcia, it’s all because of my lack of arrangement. I did prepare the hot tea, but I didn’t see you when I came back.”
“No problem, I’m an easy-going person, and I don’t mind at all, you don’t have to mind either.” Pretending to be innocent was easy for her, and she could even pretend to be heartless.
“Since that’s the case, I’ll trouble Miss Garcia to follow me to meet Grand Lady Johnson now.”
“Sure!” Victoria agreed readily.
As she got up, she thanked Mrs. Lewis, “Mrs. Lewis, thank you for the hot tea and snacks, they were delicious.”
“You’re welcome, come back for more next time.”
“Sure.”
After a few polite exchanges, Victoria followed the servant and left.
The servant led Victoria across a small path, and within three minutes, they entered a room.
As soon as they entered, Victoria heard a woman’s laughter and the sound of mahjong tiles.
“My goodness, Grand Lady has such good luck today, she won again! If this continues, I’ll be starving for the rest of the month.” This was a lively and coquettish voice.
Then, a warm, slightly old voice came, “Skylar, stop pretending; the cards in your wallet are enough for you to buy a few houses inside the Metropolis Third Ring.”
“Grand Lady really knows how to joke. Who here can compare to you in terms of wealth? We all just have our small houses envying others. Sister Leah, don’t you think so?” The one called Skylar must be Skylar Morgan, the last woman who entered Johnson Old Mansion, as Mrs. Lewis mentioned.
The so-called Sister Leah must be Leah Chester, Arnold Johnson’s so-called first little wife.
The atmosphere in the room was surprisingly harmonious, making Victoria feel as if she had traveled back to ancient times, where the interactions between mother-in-law, wife, and concubines were so well-integrated.
Victoria’s appearance did not stop their mahjong play; it was as if the four of them did not even notice her.
Since no one seemed to want to entertain her, Victoria didn’t approach them and instead found a spot to sit quietly nearby.
Having had enough food and drink already, she decided to relax, browse the internet, and check on the response to her sister’s recent film premiere–a good way to pass the time.
As for the laughter and joviality coming from the surrounding mahjong game, she considered it background noise and remained indifferent.
Her calm demeanor made Grand Lady Johnson feel a bit bored, and she wondered, was Victoria really unconcerned or just pretending to be?
