Lying in the hospital bed, Samuel patted Arnold on the shoulder and told him, “Arnold, I’m about to die and have only a few days left. The only thing I worry about is my two daughters and the many brothers who have fought beside me all these years.”

“Uncle Dean, rest assured, I will take care of them,” Arnold immediately promised.

After hearing this, Samuel felt relieved and said, “I know you’re a loyal and righteous person. Before my death, there’s one last thing I hope you can do for me, can you?”

Samuel looked at him, and with a weak smile said, “My eldest daughter, Chloe, has had a crush on you since she was young. This has never changed over the years. It seemed like a request taking advantage of Arnold’s gratitude. Hearing this, Arnold fell silent, not replying immediately.

There are many ways to repay a favor and marrying to repay it was something Arnold disliked the most, especially since he saw Chloe as a younger sister and had never thought of marrying her.

Seeing Arnold’s expression, Samuel started to cough. When my marriage with your aunt was arranged by our family, I was also very resistant. But after getting married, I found out how wonderful your aunt was in so many ways. Samuel seemed lost in the memories of his time with his wife, while Arnold remained silent.

After a while, Samuel spoke again, “Arnold, think it over. Uncle Dean can wait another two days.”
