Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please! -
Chapter 325 - 325 Why 3
Chapter 325: Why 3 Chapter 325: Why 3 Clara Brown felt her right eyelid twitching severely. She had suffered at the hands of Victoria Garcia before, so she was more composed than Mia Garcia.
“Victoria, don’t act all high and mighty just because you’re the biggest shareholder now. We’re not that easy to bully,” Mia immediately stepped forward and argued.
Clara quickly held her daughter back, fearing that Mia might get angry and start a fight. By then, they – mother and daughter – would be at a disadvantage. Today’s goal was not to engage in a verbal argument but to establish a foothold in the company.
Victoria stood up slowly from her chair, walked over to Clara and her daughter, and calmly said, “What I want to tell you is that the shares you hold are just worthless paper, completely useless.”
“Worthless paper? What a joke!” Clara instinctively responded, “This is legally recognized. Just because you say it’s worthless paper doesn’t mean it is. Is the law set by you or what?”
“I know you don’t believe me, so I suggest you look into it. Check if your shares are still valid. If they are, I’ll make sure to keep a place for you on the Board of Directors. If they’re not, please stay away from here and me in the future,” Victoria indifferently added, “Because I’m afraid bad things might happen to people who’ve done too many bad things, and they might accidentally hurt innocent people around them.”
“Victoria, what right do you have to say that? I think you just don’t want my mother to get in, so you’re finding all kinds of reasons and excuses. You’re a snob, a shameless person. You’ve taken away everything that belongs to our family, and now you want to monopolize it and keep us out. Who else could do such a thing besides you?” Mia yelled at Victoria without distinguishing right from wrong.
Victoria ignored Mia and just said to Clara, “Do you know why I’m so sure that the shares you hold are worthless paper?”
“Why?” Clara wanted to know too.
“Because I bought your shares!” As soon as Victoria spoke, not only were Clara and Mia stunned, but even the members of the Board of Directors were shocked.
What on earth was going on?
After the silence, Clara suddenly burst into laughter. She laughed for a while before stopping. She looked at Victoria and said, “This is really a big joke, but unfortunately, the joke is not on me, but on you. I, Clara Brown, have never sold any shares, let alone to you!”
“Of course, I’m sure you haven’t sold any shares directly. However, you entrusted the sale of your shares to someone else. Coincidentally, the person who bought the shares is my friend. When they found out it was in the company where I’m a part of, they asked if I was interested in buying. Naturally, I was, so they bought them and transferred them to me,” Victoria explained calmly.
“Everything you’ve said sounds like it’s true, but the problem is, I’ve never even entrusted anyone to sell my shares either. From the beginning, the shares have never left me. Where does this ‘entrusting’ come from? You’re obviously making groundless accusations!” Clara yelled back.
Victoria still looked calm as she said, “Whether you entrusted someone or not, I don’t care. But the fact is that my friend bought the shares you entrusted to your husband, Terry Garcia, to handle, and my friend indeed sold those shares to me. And I did buy them!”
