Chapter 313 - 313 Suddenly awakened
Chapter 313: Suddenly awakened Chapter 313: Suddenly awakened Entering the early autumn of Metropolis, the morning sunshine was warm, neither cold nor hot, just perfect.
When Victoria Garcia opened her eyes, she felt her hand being tightly held by another hand. She was familiar with the warmth and texture of this hand, and the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but show a smile.
She turned her head and, sure enough, Arnold Johnson’s head was buried beside her hospital bed, seemingly still asleep.
Victoria was just about to lie quietly without making a sound so that Arnold could sleep a little longer when he awoke as if sensing something, his eyes instantly opening up.
Seeing Victoria awake, he exclaimed excitedly, “Victoria, you’re awake!”
“Yeah, I’m awake!” Victoria responded with a smile.
In a blink of an eye, Arnold said with a slight anger, “You should have woken me up as soon as you woke up!”
“I didn’t call you, but you woke up as soon as I did.”
Hearing Victoria say this, Arnold turned to laughter again, “That’s because we are connected.”
Then, Arnold asked her with concern, “Does your head still hurt?”
Victoria shook her head, feeling nothing, and replied, “It seems to be fine, no pain!”
After that, she asked Arnold, “Was the car accident I was in serious? I only remember fainting in the end, and it seemed like blood was flowing from my head.”
“Yeah, there was a piece of glass in your head, but it has already been taken out. The doctor said that if you could wake up within two days, you’d be fine. Now that you’re awake, it means you’re fine,” Arnold assured her. “In these days, don’t think too much and don’t use your brain too much.”
“Didn’t you just say I’m fine? Why can’t I use my brain then?” Victoria asked, puzzled.
Arnold was at a loss for words. The doctor didn’t seem to have said she couldn’t use her brain, but he was just worried.
“Just listen to me, for safety’s sake, don’t think about anything, just rest for a few days at ease!”
Although Arnold said this, Victoria couldn’t help but ask him questions because there were many things she needed to solve.
“During my coma, I had some subconscious awareness. I seemed to have heard about someone trying to harm me and something about a Police Station. What happened?” Victoria added, “If you don’t tell me anything, I will use more brainpower to think and guess.”
Seeing her bring up that matter, Arnold agreed that Victoria was right. If he didn’t tell her everything, it would only make her use more brain cells to think.
So Arnold told her everything about Terry Garcia bribing Nurse Lynda Collins.
After listening, Victoria knew Terry was a heartless and ungrateful person, but he was still her father. She never expected him to be so cruel to her.
Yeah, if she died, all the things involving the company, online finance, and the Chairman’s position, no one would threaten him then.
“He doesn’t know who’s helping you from behind, but he’s already sent someone to investigate. However, it’s not something he can find out overnight.” Arnold continued, “Now, it’s up to you how you want to deal with him.”
Victoria turned her head and said lightly, “The last time Wyatt Lee reported to me, his online financial company was basically at a dead-end. It won’t take long for him to face the consequences without my intervention. When the time comes, I’ll just add a bit of fuel to the fire.”
Arnold knew that, in the end, Victoria still didn’t want Terry to die.
