Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please! -
Chapter 168 - 168 An inexplicable force
Chapter 168: An inexplicable force Chapter 168: An inexplicable force Looking at the breakfast, Alexander Mitchell felt annoyed, and even looking at the person in front of him put him in a bad mood.
Candy Foster carefully examined herself, a black mid-sleeve knit, light plaid trousers, and flat black shoes… There seemed to be nothing wrong, so why did Alexander’s gaze always make her feel like there was something wrong with her entire appearance?
Finally, Alexander couldn’t help but say, “I suddenly don’t want porridge anymore, I want noodles, go get me a bowl of plain noodles.”
Candy glanced at the breakfast, said nothing, and obediently replied, “Alright, I’ll be back soon.”
“Victoria, are you so eager to avoid me? Am I that repulsive to you?” Alexander spoke with a low voice that only he himself could hear.
His hand clenched into a fist and then released.
Then, Alexander removed the syringe that was still infusing fluid into his hand, picked up a piece of clothing from the bedside, put it on, and left the ward.
By the time Candy returned with plain noodles, Alexander had already vanished.
When questioned, the nurses had no idea either.
In the end, Candy could only call Victoria Garcia to tell her that he was missing.
Victoria sat at her desk, holding her phone, and eventually dialed Alexander’s number. The voice on the other end said: The number you have dialed has been switched off, please try again later…
He must be angry with her!
Thinking this, Victoria actually felt relieved; if he had the energy to be angry, he must be fine. After resting for a couple of days and calming down, he would be okay.
Their relationship was what it was.
No matter what he thought now, Victoria, given her personality, only wanted to maintain their relationship as it was.
In the afternoon, the new machines Victoria had ordered were delivered to the factory. If successful, the factory would launch this work on a large scale.
As she got busy, Victoria had no time to worry about other things.
The next day, the results of the new machine’s operation were out, and they were not satisfactory.
Shortly after, a backlash against Victoria began.
“She’s just been demoted, so young and inexperienced. All she can do is waste money, and following her will only make things worse,” said one worker.
“Yes, she may look like she’s doing everything for our sake, but where’s the actual welfare? We haven’t seen any money, and we’re even more tired and exhausted than before,” added another.
“If I don’t get a bonus, I’m going on strike.”
“Me too.”
What’s more, some said that those who supported Victoria would have to leave once she fell from grace.
The sudden backlash left everyone in the factory on edge, as if a massive storm was about to hit. Some were indifferent, just waiting to see how things would turn out…
For the past few days, Victoria had been trying to figure out what had gone wrong with the new machine. According to her analysis, there shouldn’t have been any issues, yet the clothes produced were far from perfect.
By the time she heard these rumors, three days had already passed.
There was only one more week until the company would have to distribute wages and welfare.
James from the Finance Department came to give her a report.
“Little Boss Garcia, I just wanted to give you a heads up that we have a week left until payday, but Headquarters hasn’t sent any money,” he said.
Victoria put down her work and asked him, “Did they give a reason?”
James only said, “They told us to figure it out ourselves and sell stocks to pay the workers’ salaries.”
“Has it always been like this, or just started this month?” Victoria asked him again.
