Chapter 167: A sudden moment 3 Chapter 167: A sudden moment 3 In just a moment, Alexander Mitchell saw Victoria Garcia lying on the edge of the hospital bed.

It seemed that Victoria wasn’t sleeping peacefully; her furrowed eyebrows made her small face look uneasy, and her rosy lips revealed a half smile, slightly raised at the corners, which was quite pleasant.

Just then, a nurse walked in, and Alexander quickly raised his hand, making a “shushing” sound at her.

The nurse, seeing this, kept quiet. She pointed to the pills in the plastic bag in her hand, indicating that he should take them on time and in the proper dosage.

After setting down the pills, the nurse left the room quietly.

Alexander looked at Victoria quietly, not daring to move. He was afraid that any movement would wake her up, and he would miss this beautiful moment.

For how long had he not greedily looked at her like this? Even he couldn’t remember.

In his dreams, he had experienced such beauty, but it always disappeared in a flash, to the point where he was about to forget even her appearance.

Even in the still world, Alexander felt time was passing by quickly– even a second– he wished he could linger longer.

However, his simple and extravagant wish was shattered when his cell phone rang, and Alexander cursed softly in English.

Victoria opened her eyes, reached into her pocket for her phone, and saw that it was Candy Foster calling.

She glanced at the now-awake Alexander and answered the phone.

Candy’s clear voice came from the other end, “General Garcia, I’m at the hospital now. Do you need me to come in?”

“No need, wait outside for me. I’ll come out in a bit,” Victoria replied hoarsely.

Candy obediently responded, “Alright.”

Victoria hung up the phone, her gaze returning to Alexander.

“The doctor said you have acute gastroenteritis. It’s nothing serious, but you should pay more attention to your diet and rest in the future,” Victoria gently told him.

“I want to eat some porridge. That’s healthy, right?” Alexander acted as if he’d not heard the earlier phone call at all.

Victoria asked him, “Plain porridge is the best.”

“Whatever you say, plain porridge it is,” said Alexander, revealing his white teeth with a smile, looking quite innocent.

Before going to buy porridge, Victoria asked, “Alexander, do you have any other friends or relatives in Green City?”

He adamantly replied, “Other than you, there’s no one else.”

In fact, Alexander had a cousin here who would probably have someone watch over him in the hospital twenty-four hours a day if she knew he was hospitalized.

“Are you really planning to leave me here all alone?” With that, he looked at her with a pitiful expression. “I’m a patient now.”

Victoria pointed to the door and said, “I’m going to buy porridge.”

After Victoria left, she went with Candy Foster to a nearby porridge restaurant and bought some plain porridge and side dishes.

“You take this up to Alexander. His room number is 310. If he asks about me, just say I have something urgent to deal with at the factory,” Victoria instructed further. “As long as it’s reasonable, you can fulfill any of his requests.”

Candy looked at the breakfast in her hand, then at Victoria leaving in the distance, feeling a surge of admiration welling up inside her.

When Candy appeared in Alexander’s room, carrying his breakfast, his face immediately darkened.

“Mr. Mitchell, I’m General Garcia’s assistant. She had to leave for some urgent factory business, so she sent me to take care of you. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you need anything.”

As she spoke, she began to serve the breakfast he’d asked for…
