Chapter 391: Chapter 391: Not a Single One Left Behind

“Xiaoyu, it seems Mr. Zhou is sleeping in the back, you can go find him yourself!”

After saying that, Xiaoyu left rather coldly, leaving Wu Xiaoyu quite puzzled. He sighed helplessly and went to look for Zhou Dong.

Wu Xiaoyu went to the bedroom behind Jiji and found Zhou Dong sprawled out on the bed, snoring away. He then placed Zhou Dong’s sock by his mouth.

In high school, Zhou Dong had caught athlete’s foot from his dorm mate, so his socks often smelled terrible and were always damp.

Even though Zhou Dong was groggy from sleep, the nasty smell roused him a bit, and he instinctively grabbed the smelly sock by his mouth and tossed it to the floor.

Seeing that he still wasn’t awake, Wu Xiaoyu had no choice but to punch him hard on the back, fully waking him up.

“Who? Who the hell?” Zhou Dong sprung up, rubbing his back, and started cursing.

When he opened his eyes, he saw Wu Xiaoyu glaring at him angrily, challenging him, “What’s wrong? Why are you hitting me?”

Wu Xiaoyu didn’t waste time talking, he just pulled Zhou Dong up and put him back on the bed, lecturing him, “Zhou Dong, what time is it now? Why are you still sleeping? Do you even want to make money?”

Seeing how seriously he was lecturing him, Zhou Dong could only retort, “Typical capitalist! Can’t stand to see anyone idle!”

Seeing that Zhou Dong was already sobering up, Wu Xiaoyu sat down and said, “Alright! Let’s stop messing around and talk business.”

Zhou Dong realized that Wu Xiaoyu indeed had something important to discuss, and he intensely rubbed his face to wake up completely.

As he rubbed his nose, a sharp pain shot through his nostril and he blurted out, “Damn it! Did you hit me in the nose? Why does it hurt so much?”

“Hit you? You wish! It’s your fault for getting a nosebleed, and now you’re blaming me?” Wu Xiaoyu retorted fiercely.

Zhou Dong then remembered his arm had brushed against Sister Yun’s soft and plump self, and just then, his face bloomed with a flower-like smile.

Seeing him fawning, Wu Xiaoyu had to punch him again, saying, “Alright, stop daydreaming! I have something serious to discuss with you!”

“Go ahead, I’m listening!” Zhou Dong replied while rubbing his nose.

Wu Xiaoyu helplessly shook his head and said, “Aren’t we planning to open a branch? If you have nothing to do these days, go to the county to look around for a storefront!”

Upon hearing about the branch opening, Zhou Dong put away his playful demeanor and became serious.

“Alright! I’ll go check out the county tomorrow, to find a spot that’s both well-located and cheap on rent. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll go find Bai Yun.” Zhou Dong replied.

Even though Wu Xiaoyu had helped Bai Yun many times, he had also received a lot of help from the Bai Family and didn’t want to trouble Bai Yun further.

“Come on! How likely is it to find such a good spot? Going to Bai Yun is like telling her you want to take advantage of her. Owing favors is more expensive than owing money; try to find it yourself if you can!” Wu Xiaoyu explained.

Although Zhou Dong didn’t understand why Wu Xiaoyu deliberately distanced himself from Bai Yun, seeing him insist, he had to nod in agreement.

“How’s the search for chefs going these past few days?” Wu Xiaoyu continued to ask.

Zhou Dong grinned and said, “Don’t worry! It’s already settled, they can come anytime! I’ve arranged for them to come to Longhe Town first to see their skills.”

Seeing that Zhou Dong hadn’t been idle these past few days, Wu Xiaoyu was quite relieved, and he patted Zhou Dong’s shoulder in satisfaction, encouraging, “Good job!”

“You capitalist! Really think you’re bossing me around now?” Zhou Dong swatted his hand away and retorted.

Just as Wu Xiaoyu was about to discuss how to test little Li with Zhou Dong, his phone rang. He pulled it out and saw it was his father calling, so he quickly answered.

On the other end, Wu Youliang asked irritably, “Xiaoyu, when are you coming back?”

“I’ll be back soon, what’s going on? Why is it so noisy over there?” Wu Xiaoyu asked curiously, hearing the loud commotion around his father.

Wu Youliang sighed and explained, “You better come back quickly! The villagers are about to wreck our door!”

Wu Xiaoyu suddenly remembered he had held a meeting with the villagers in the morning, asking them to form their own groups for cooperation and then register them.

But why had all the villagers suddenly stormed into his house? Wu Xiaoyu was puzzled but had no choice but to rush home.

Seeing Wu Xiaoyu hang up and prepare to head to the village, Zhou Dong asked urgently, “What’s going on? Do you need help?”

“Nothing! The villagers came to my house because of the soybean sauce production!” Wu Xiaoyu responded as he walked away.

Before Zhou Dong could ask more, Wu Xiaoyu had already arrived in the main hall. He bid Zhou Dong farewell and charged out of Jiji, hopped on his motorcycle, and headed back to Daxin Village.

By the time he got back to the village, it was already past seven in the evening. The streets were quiet and harmonious, devoid of the usual gossiping women.

But when he reached his house, he was shocked to find the villagers like ants on a hot pan, anxiously waiting at his door.

As he was about to stop his bike, the villagers swarmed towards him in a rush. What the hell were they up to?

“Xiaoyu… Xiaoyu, you’re back! We’ve been waiting for you!” the leading woman from the Liu Family shouted.

The women around her also chimed in, “Yeah… Yeah… Where have you been? We’ve been waiting for half the day!”

Seeing the crowd worked up, Wu Xiaoyu had no choice but to calm them, “Everyone, don’t panic, let’s discuss this calmly. Why did you all suddenly come to my house?”

A distant aunt of Wu Xiaoyu quickly explained, “Of course it’s about the soybean sauce production. We’re here to hand in our group lists!”

Lists? Was it really just about the lists? Wu Xiaoyu faced the agitated crowd and could only smile wryly. Just handing the list to Accountant Liu would’ve sufficed; did they really need to wait for him?

The villagers’ impatience made Wu Xiaoyu feel out of place. He had never been surrounded by so many people since he was born!

He wasn’t stage-frightened, but the crowd made him feel immense pressure, as if he was about to be swallowed up.

Fortunately, Accountant Liu was also present. Seeing Wu Xiaoyu a bit overwhelmed, he shouted loudly, “Quiet down… Quiet down… Quiet down!”

“Since Xiaoyu is back, each group can just appoint a leader and the rest can go home!”

Accountant Liu’s shout gradually calmed the villagers, but no one wanted to leave, fearing that Wu Xiaoyu might overlook them.

Looking at the villagers’ eager eyes, Wu Xiaoyu felt helpless and shouted, “Alright! Let me push my bike inside first, okay?”

“Alright! Alright! Sure, why not!” the villagers responded excitedly.

They followed Wu Xiaoyu to his house courtyard, standing in two rows as if waiting for Wu Xiaoyu to give a speech.

Seeing their son back and the villagers not as anxious, Wu Youliang and Wang Aifeng opened the house door and walked out slowly.

Wang Aifeng, irritated by the villagers’ commotion, still hadn’t fully calmed down and complained:
