Chapter 320: Chapter 320: One Move Determines the Winner
To quickly deal with Wu Xiaoyu and to show the other warriors in the squads his prowess, Fan Biao roared and attacked Wu Xiaoyu with a thunderous momentum.
His tightly clenched fist was like a large and tough clay pot, producing a vague explosive sound through the air.
Facing the lightning-like fist, Wu Xiaoyu remained calm and composed, showing no intention to dodge or evade.
This made the surrounding warriors gape in shock. Was this kid asking for death? Why didn’t he evade?
Without any strength, why pretend? Fan Squadron’s punch would likely break a few of his ribs, right?
However, something happened that took everyone by surprise. Just as Fan Biao’s fist was about to hit Wu Xiaoyu’s abdomen, Wu Xiaoyu gently moved his right foot, shifted his body to the left, and avoided Fan Squadron’s attack.
This…
The officers and warriors all widened their eyes in disbelief, some even rubbing their eyes, fearing they had seen it wrong.
While they were still puzzled, they saw Wu Xiaoyu simply extend his right palm and lightly strike Fan Squadron’s back, causing him to fall to the ground.
Fan Biao missed his punch, not only failing to hit Wu Xiaoyu but being knocked to the ground himself, leaving him stunned.
What happened? How did Wu Xiaoyu dodge his attack? Did he fall because of Wu Xiaoyu’s strike or because he lost his balance?
The captain standing on the steps was also incredulous, seeing his prized fighter taken down in one move. He asked the adjutant next to him, “What… what happened to him?”
The adjutant came to his senses, laughed awkwardly, and stammered, “Fan Squadron… Fan Squadron must have underestimated him! Yes, he underestimated him!”
The surrounding warriors, seeing Wu Xiaoyu knock Fan Biao down, were filled with shock, unable to find other words to describe their feelings.
Though the Second Company’s combat power wasn’t strong, Squadron Leader Fan Biao was considered a top fighter in the entire Special Combat Team, if not the whole military district.
He actually fell like this? Impossible, Wu Xiaoyu must have used some trick!
But in full view of everyone, how could Wu Xiaoyu have had a chance to cheat? Besides, with so many eyes on him, how could no one see anything unusual?
Wu Xiaoyu ignored the shock and anger around him, bent down to extend a hand to Fan Biao, intending to help him up.
Fan Biao, being proud and arrogant, felt immense shame and anger after being defeated. How could he accept Wu Xiaoyu’s gesture?
Fan Biao stood up, enduring the pain in his back, and glared at Wu Xiaoyu angrily, challenging, “Again!”
Although Wu Xiaoyu understood his frustration, the gap between them was too vast. Even if they fought a hundred more times, the result would be the same. Why make him humiliate himself again?
“Fan Squadron, I think that’s enough,” Wu Xiaoyu said calmly.
His nonchalant words infuriated the surrounding warriors even more. What did he mean by that?
Was he saying Fan Squadron wasn’t worthy to fight him again? Such contempt for Fan Squadron also felt like disrespect to everyone else.
Seeing Wu Xiaoyu refuse, Fan Biao’s face darkened, and his eyes turned red with anger. He clenched his fists and launched another unreserved attack at the nearby Wu Xiaoyu.
Wu Xiaoyu just maneuvered and dodged all his attacks again.
The frequent attacks left Fan Biao panting. He paused to catch his breath while keeping his eyes fixed on Wu Xiaoyu.
After dodging so many attacks, Wu Xiaoyu’s face remained calm. Clearly, he had real skills, and Fan Biao realized he had underestimated him.
“Fan Squadron, haven’t you trained enough? It’s getting late. Did you forget about the outdoor training?” Wu Xiaoyu smiled.
The crowd, seeing his harmless smile, couldn’t help but feel a trace of fear. This young man was truly formidable!
Fortunately, they hadn’t provoked him earlier. Otherwise, they might not be training right now but heading to the medical team instead.
The captain on the steps, seeing his capable fighter unable to get close to the opponent, felt both shame and anger.
To prevent the warriors from losing morale, the captain quickly shouted, “Enough! Today’s bout ends here. Each team, take them to training!”
Several squad leaders immediately organized their teams and led their men to training upon hearing the captain’s order.
Fan Biao, still panting, looked at Wu Xiaoyu with lingering resentment. Despite his hard training, he couldn’t even handle a youngster like this. How could he face the enemy on the battlefield or execute beheading missions?
“Fan Biao! What are you doing? Haven’t you had enough embarrassment?” The captain angrily scolded him seeing he was still dazed.
Fan Biao snapped out of it from the captain’s yell, quickly composed himself, organized the team, and led them to the assembly area.
Wu Xiaoyu, seeing that Fan Biao didn’t greet him, led his team out with a wry smile and followed behind them.
The hundred or so members of the Second Company gathered at the camp gate, standing disheartened like wilted eggplants.
Fan Biao glanced at the slowly following Wu Xiaoyu and scolded the warriors, “How many times have I taught you? Don’t you know what ‘military orders are like mountains’ means? Why are you dawdling like women?”
Wu Xiaoyu knew he was being indirectly targeted, but since he had undercut Fan Biao’s authority, he had to bear it.
After all, Fan Biao was still the company commander, and being humiliated in front of his warriors, he naturally needed to assert himself to maintain authority and discipline.
“Sorry, I was walking slow,” Wu Xiaoyu apologized.
Seeing Wu Xiaoyu’s earlier arrogance turn to humility, Fan Biao had nothing more to say and simply snorted, ordering the team to depart.
Once all the warriors were in the vehicles, Wu Xiaoyu followed Fan Biao onto the first vehicle.
As he walked in, he was stunned. There was only one seat left, which Fan Biao took without acknowledging him!
Entering the loaded vehicle, Wu Xiaoyu realized he was the extra one. Just as he was about to get off and board the next vehicle, the driver suddenly started.
Unbalanced, he almost fell backward, but steadied himself despite the inertia, much to the disappointment of the warriors hoping to see him falter.
Unable to see Wu Xiaoyu embarrassed, the warriors felt disheartened again. How could he be so skilled?
Defeating Fan Squadron was one thing, but even resisting a vehicle’s inertia showed his remarkable Kung Fu.
Earlier, they mocked and humiliated him like jesters. In his eyes, they must seem less than useless.
What if during training, he took revenge and tortured them? What then?
Sitting next to Fan Biao, the deputy tapped him with his elbow and whispered, “He’s really a master. Maybe we should humble ourselves?”
Before he could finish, Fan Biao frowned again, snorted, turned away, and closed his eyes to rest.
The deputy hesitated for a long time but felt they should treat Wu Xiaoyu with respect since he was the fighting instructor brought in by the commander.
